The 51-year-old bassist and his fellow Metallica band mates debuted the second song off their new studio album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct on national television on Thursday.
Metallica guested on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed the headbanger “Moth Into Flame.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers certainly got a spirited introduction. Leading into the performance, Fallon accurately called them “one of them most influential rock bands in music history” and Vice President Joe Biden — who was also guesting on the show — shouted them out on Twitter: “my house band, Metallica.”
