The official trailer has been released for the Mechanic: Resurrection, starring the 35-year-old half-Mexican American actress and action star Jason Statham.
The film is a sequel to 2011’s The Mechanic, a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson classic about a conflicted hitman whose specialty is making his murders look like accidental deaths.
Five years after being forced to kill his partner, Statham’s Arthur Bishop is retired from the business and living anonymously with the love of his life, Gina (Alba), in a very remote locale. He’s forced back into the game when Gina is kidnapped by a shadowy cartel who demands he pull off three assassinations. Bishop rejects those terms and opts instead to go after the kidnappers, teaming up with one of the men on his hit list, played by Tommy Lee Jones.
Directed by Dennis Gansel from a script by Philip Shelby and Tony Mosher, the film also stars Chinese action legend Michelle Yeoh.
