It’s official… Juanes is set to give his inspired music the unplugged treatment.
The 39-year-old Colombian rockero will tape an MTV Unplugged special in Miami next February. Produced by MTV TR3s, the special will air in the United States and throughout Latin America.
And the Grammy-winning artist will get an assist from his dear friend Juan Luis Guerra. The 54-year-old Dominican singing sensation will serve as the musical director for the special, as well as the producer on Juanes’ “MTV Unplugged” album.
The equally exceptional pair, who’ve often performed and collaborated together, had talked about Guerra producing a Juanes album for months, according to sources.
The special will be taped at the New World Center in Miami Beach with guest artists and song list still to be determined.
Previous Latino artists/acts who’ve recorded an MTV Unplugged special include Ricky Martin, Julieta Venegas, Alejandro Sanz, Zoé, Los Tigres del Norte and Camila.
