Ice Spice is getting funko-fied

Funko has announced the release of a limited-edition Pop! Collectible of the 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper in celebration of her highly anticipated debut album Y2K, which was released on Friday, July 26.

Ice SpiceThe adorable Pop! vinyl is wearing the same outfit from Ice Spice’s Y2K album cover — denim shorts, a white cropped tank top and green boots — and sports her signature red hair.

The Ice Spice x Funko Pop! vinyl retails for $15 and measures approximately 3.25-inches tall.

Ice Spice, Funko, Pop! CollectibleThe Funko Pop! will be available for pre-order at Funko.com and Ice Spice’s official merch shop starting on Wednesday, July 31, at 9:30 a.m. PT through Thursday, Aug. 8, at 9:30 a.m. PT.

Ice Spice joins a list of other rappers who have gotten the Funko Pop! treatment including Doja Cat, Salt-N-Peppa, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G. and Lil Wayne.

Her long awaited YK2 album features the singles “Think You The Shit (Fart),” “Gimme a Light,” “Phat Butt” and “Did It First.” Travis Scott, Gunna and Central Cee are featured on the album.

The Bronx native, who was born on January 1, 2000, named album after the Y2K era, as she explained in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“I was really born into chaos, and I feel like the album sounds very chaotic, in a good way,” she said.

“I think I’m, like, 90 percent I’m going to do whatever I want, and then 10 percent I’ll give you something you want,” she explained of creating the album. “But at the same time, I just really like making fun records because that’s what I like to hear most of the time.”

“Think U the Shit (Fart)” became Ice’s highest charting unaccompanied solo Billboard Hot 100 hit to date, and she performed the song and “Phat Butt” at the 2024 BET Awards, where she was nominated for best collaboration and video of the year for “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua, as well as best female hip-hop artist.

“I think this is some of my best work,” she told Billboard when she was named the 2024 Women in Music Hitmaker Award honoree.

“I’s not going to be too long — it’s going to be sweet and to the point.”

Y2K! also features collaborations with Travis Scott (“Oh Shhh…”), Gunna (“Bitch I’m Packin’”) and Central Cee (“Did It First”), the lattermost of which debuted at No. 62 on the Hot 100 dated July 27.

Scott recently previewed their collaboration during his London tour stop.

Y2K! comes a year and a half after her debut EP Like..?, which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured hit singles “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Princess Diana,” which later got a Hot 100 No. 4 remix with Minaj.

Ice Spice landed at No. 5 on Billboard‘s 10 Hottest Female Rappers Right Now list in June. And she embarked on her Y2K! World Tour earlier this month, which will make its way stateside next week in Washington, D.C., before wrapping on August 31 in Miami, Fla.

“Did It First” is the fourth single after her Billboard Hot 100 top 40 hit “Think U The Shit (Fart),” the Sean Paul-sampling “Gimme a Light” and her latest offering “Phat Butt.”

The 24-year-old half-Dominican American rapper, who is set to roll out her debut album Y2K! in the near future, has posted a video of her rapping an unreleased song with the caption reading, “phattt buttttttttt,” and she has a clear message for her competition: Stop bitin’.

Ice Spice, one of the hottest female rappers at the moment, recently announced her debut album, artwork and a world tour.

She received some backlash from the David LaChapelle album cover to which she responded to a fan who “fixed” the cover in a since-deleted tweet as “delulu.”

So far, she has released two singles “U Think U the Shit? (Fart)” and “Gimmie a Light” with the former peaking at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

She also made a guest appearance on Cash Cobain and Bay Swag’s “Fisherrr (Remix)” as the continue to push New York City’s “Sexy Drill” scene forward.

This album will be her first project since 2023’s Like..? EP, which peaked at No. 15 and turned her into a superstar.

Still no word on the actual name of the song or when its being released, but it should be soon as her album is supposed to come out next month. Y2K! is set to drop July 26 and her world tour kicks off in Denmark on July 4.

The 52-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning singer will perform at this year’s Lovers & Friends Fest, presented by Usher.

Mariah CareyThe one-day only festival will take place on May 6 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds; and it’s proving to be a star-studded smörgåsbord of nostalgia for Y2K natives and newcomers alike. The festival also recruited some 2010s and 2020s favorites for their 45-act festival.

In addition to Carey and Usher, featured artists and groups will include Christina Aguilera, Frankie J, Missy Elliott, Chris Brown, Nelly, Busta Rhymes, Flo Rida, Master P and No Limit Soldiers, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Beenie Man, Chris Brown, Ginuwine, Remy Ma, JoJo, En Vogue, Blackstreet, Jagged Edge, Next, Wayne Wonder, Kevin Lyttle, 702, Lumidee and many, many more.

The festival is perfectly positioned amidst the ongoing early 2000s obsession in popular culture, with TikTokers promoting over-the-ear headphones, low rise jeans, rhinestones and paper-thin brows–in other words, the Y2K starter pack.

This year’s Lovers & Friends will be promoted by C3 (Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza), with general ticket sales available on loversandfriendsfest.com. Individual ticket prices range from $250 to $585.

The Latino actor has landed a recurring role on Freeform’s Cruel Summer. in the series’ sophomore season.

They will join Lexi Underwood, Sadie Stanley, Griffin Gluck and KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada and Sean Blakemore.

Set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, the next chapter of Cruel Summer follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship. Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding Y2K, the season twists and turns as it tracks the early friendship between Megan, Isabella and Megan’s best friend Luke, the love triangle that blossomed, and the mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward.

De La Garza will portray Brent, Luke’s arrogant and entitled older brother. The favorite son in their prominent family, he enjoys exerting his power over the other kids and Luke.

Cruel Summer comes from studio eOne and was created by Bert V. Royal. Elle Triedman serves as showrunner. The series is distributed internationally by eOne.

Enrique Iglesias Teams Up with Carly Rae Jepsen, Y@K & Bbno$ on “Lalala” Remix

The 44-year-old Spanish superstar and Carly Rae Jepsen have teamed up with Y2K and rapper Bbno$ for a new remix of “Lalala,” released on Wednesday, October 30.

“We went from uploading a song online with no support, to having Carly Rae Jepsen & Enrique Iglesias come on and be a part of the remix,” Y2K said in a press release.

On the new version, Iglesias adds Spanish lyrics: “Vamo’ a darle al cuerpo más de ritmo, Pa’ que no sea más de lo mismo/Te voy diciendo cosas al oído/Tú sabe’ que lo nuestro es divertido” 

“When we sat down to brainstorm features, we never in a million years expected that two of the most iconic pop artists would be down to be on our record,” Y2K added.
