Sanchez to Co-Host This Year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards

Expect a little deviousness at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards

Roselyn Sanchez, one of the stars of Lifetime’s Devious Maids, will co-host this year’s awards show alongside television personality Raul Gonzalez and singer/TV host Laura Flores.

Broadcast live from Miami on Telemundo on April 24, the awards show will air at 7:00 pm ET and feature some of the biggest names in Latin music.

Sanchez, a singer/songwriter/producer/model who hails from Puerto Rico, returns as host for a second time after co-hosting the show in 2003.

On TV she appeared as a regular on Without a Trace before joining the cast of Devious Maids. In 2003, Sanchez was nominated for a Latin Grammy for “Amor, Amor,” the first single from her debut album.

Gonzalez, who recently joined Telemundo to develop and host a new variety series, is making his debut on the network as co-host of the awards show, which this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary. With a career that spans more than 30 years, the Venezuelan host spent 13 years as one of the hosts of Univision‘s Despierta America in addition to writing, producing and starring in several award-winning plays such as Visa por un Sueño.

After appearing on the Mexican telenovela En Otra Piel, Flores joined Reina de Corazones. The Mexican actress has worked in TV, theater and cinema and has hosted several television shows. Musically, the entertainer has recorded 16 albums and the most recent project, Desde mi Corazon, celebrates her musical career.

Prior to the awards show, stars will walk the red carpet and will be seen on the special La Alfombra de los Premios Billboard, which will be hosted by Telemundo personalities Monica Noguera and Rashel Diaz with Jorge Bernal of La Voz Kids and Suelta la Sopa. Guadalupe Venegas of Telemundo and Karim Mendiburu, Christian Ramirez and Kika Rocha will also be featured on the special.

Murciano Lands Recurring Role on New Netflix Psychological Thriller

The 40-year-old Cuban-American actor has landed a recurring role on Netflix‘s untitled psychological thriller from Sony Pictures Television.

Written and executive produced by Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler, the 13-episode series centers on a close-knit family of four adult siblings (Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz) whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother (Mendelsohn) returns home.

Murciano will portray Meg’s (Cardellini) boyfriend Marco, a member of the county sheriff’s department.

He’ll next be seen in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Water & Power and a recurring role on the Starz drama Power.

His previous television credits include 666 Park Avenue, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, Medium and Without a Trace.

Castro Lands Role on CBS’ Drama Pilot “Red Zone”

David Castro has landed in the Red Zone

The 18-year-old half-Puerto Rican actor has been cast in CBS’ drama pilot Red Zone.

Written by Nikki Toscano and directed by James Foley, the project centers on Holden Weller (portrayed by Without a Trace’s Anthony LaPaglia), a retired CIA operative and intense high school football coach/athletic director who is pulled back into action when a terrorist event rocks Washington, D.C. He’s basically forced to investigate much closer to home than expected, a place where the next generation of terrorists is being bred.

Castro, who earned an Imagen Award nomination for Best Supporting actor for his performance in the film Where God Left His Shoes, will portray Reza, a smart and thoughtful new student at the high school who has just transferred there to play baseball.

Castro’s other credits include roles in the films Tio Papi, Fugly! and 27 Dresses.

Gomez Cast in NBC’s Comedy Pilot “Ellen More or Less”

The 38-year-old Latino actor, who earned three ALMA Award nominations for his performance on NBC’s long-running spy series Chuck, has been cast in the NBC pilot Ellen More or Less.

Written by JJ Philbin and directed by Peyton Reed, the comedy project centers on Ellen (portrayed by Stacey McGunnigle), an average-size woman who, after losing 100 pounds, begins reinventing herself in life and love.

Gomez will portray Craig, a co-worker of Ellen’s in the Billing Department.

Along with his role on Chuck, Gomez’s previous television credits include appearances on Castle, Without a Trace, Invasion and Law & Order.

Gomez Lands Guest-Starring Role on ABC’s “Castle”

The 37-year-old Latino actor and Chuck alum has landed a guest-starring role on ABC’s drama Castle.

Gomez, who earned three ALMA Award nods during his stint on Chuck,   will appear in the fifth episode of Season 6 as a murder suspect who claims to have traveled from the future to prevent a cataclysmic event from happening, according to EW.com.

Gomez follows in the footsteps of fellow Chuck alum Adam Baldwin as well as Gomez’s Chuck love interest Mekenna Melvin.

This marks the actor’s first television role since bidding Chuck adieu.

Gomez’s other credits include appearances on Without a Trace, Law & Order and Invasion.

ABC’s Castle returns with new episodes on Monday, September 23.

Murciano to Appear in Multi-Episode Arc on ABC’s “666 Park Avenue”

The 39-year-old Cuban-American actor has landed a multi-episode arc on ABC’s 666 Park Avenue, according to TVGuide.com.

In the new drama, a naïve Midwestern couple (Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor) are hired as resident managers of an Upper East Side apartment building in New York City owned by Gavin (Losts Terry O’Quinn) and Olivia Doran (Vanessa Williams). Unbeknownst to them, the residents have all made deals with the devil to have their desires fulfilled.

Marciano, best known for playing Special Agent Danny Taylor on CBS’s Without a Trace, will play Dr. Todd Scott, a handsome young surgeon living at The Drake. He unwittingly drives a wedge between Louise (Mercedes Masohn) and Brian (Robert Buckley) when he calls in a few prescriptions and makes some neighborly house calls to a recovering Louise. Naturally, like the other residents of The Drake, Dr. Scott will be battling some hidden demons of his own.

Murciano will first appear in the fifth episode of the freshman season.

666 Park Avenue will premiere on Sunday, September 30 at 10:00 pm on ABC.

Reyes Cast in ABC’s Devious Maids Pilot

The 44-year-old Dominican American actress—best known for her role as nurse Carla Espinosa on Scrubs—has been cast as the fourth lead in the ABC pilot Devious Maids, from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.

Based on the Mexican telenovela Ellas son… la alegría del hogar, the drama centers on four ambitious maids who work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills while trying to make their own dreams come true.

Reyes will play Zoila, the senior maid at the Delacourt household whose intelligence is matched only by her humor. She works alongside her teenage daughter Valentina, who serves as the junior maid at mansion.

Reyes rounds out an all-star Latina cast that includes former Heroes star Dania Ramirez, former Without a Trace star Roselyn Sanchez and former Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz.

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican actress/singer has landed  one of the lead roles in ABC’s Devious Maids pilot, alongside former Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz and former Heroes star Dania Ramirez.

From Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, the drama follows four ambitious with big dreams of their own who work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. The concept is based on a popular Spanish-language telenovela.

The former Without a Trace star will play Carmen, an aspiring singer who carries herself like the rich and famous woman she knows she’ll become one day be. She works for a self-absorbed Cuban-American pop star, played by newcomer Angelique Cabral, who is constantly on tour.

Meantime, Sanchez will next co-star in Relativity Media’s Act Of Valor, which opens tomorrow.
