Ozuna Earns 14th Top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay Chart with “Unica”

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer has notched his 14th top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart as “Unica,” the latest single from his second full-length forthcoming album Aura, moves 12-10.

The track rises with a 22 percent jump in audience impressions to 9.5 million in its tenth frame.

As “Unica” ascends, Ozuna claims a trio of songs on the list’s Top 10. After its former No. 1 rank, Reik’s “Me Niego” featuring Ozuna and Wisin stands steady at No. 3 for its third consecutive week, and “Te Boté” (by Casper Magico, Nio Garcia, Darell, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Bad Bunny) places at No. 8. Further, Ozuna has two more hits on the chart:

El Farsante” with Romeo Santos (No. 14) and his featured turn on Wisin’s “Quisiera Alejarme” (No. 16).

Jennifer Lopez Notches Her Eighth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “El Anillo”

The 48-year-old Puertp Rican superstar has notched her eighth No. 1 single on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart — and her third of the year — as “El Anillo” bolts 12-1 on the July 14-dated list.

The song reached the summit thanks to an 88 percent increase in audience impressions (to 16 million) in the week ending July 8, according to Nielsen Music. The gain was likely prompted by its new Ozuna remix, which hit radio on July 2, benefiting from six days of airplay.

Lopez topped the chart earlier in the year with the tracks “Amor, Amor, Amor” featuring Wisin, and as part of the triple-billed title “Se Acabó el Amor” with Abraham Mateo and Yandel, both ruling for one week only.

Among women, Lopez continues to have the third-most No. 1s on the tally, trailing only Shakira (who has 13) and Gloria Estefan (with 11).

In addition to the Latin Airplay coronation, “El Anillo” also lands at No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay tally, vaulting 9-1 in its tenth frame and besting its No. 9 peak where the song held for four non-consecutive weeks.

The new lift grants Lopez her fourth leader, extending her record as the female with most No. 1s, now with four.

Wisin to Serve as Coach on Telemundo’s “La Voz”

Wisin is ready to find and coach the next big Latin music voice…

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton superstar, whose real name is Juan Luis Morera Luna, has been confirmed as the third coach of Telemundo‘s La Voz, according to Billboard.

In addition to being a singer, Wisin produces his own music, is part of the duo Wisin y Yandel and was also in charge of CNCO‘s first album, Primera Cita.

He has also co-produced forJenniferLopezChayanneOzuna and more.

“I’m more than ready to start this new adventure and have the challenge of finding that voice,” Wisin said in a statement.

Wisin now joins Luis Fonsi and Alejandra Guzman as coaches for the first season of the reality show, which is currently in the auditions phase.

La Voz will visit three more cities: Chicago (July 14), San Antonio (July 21) and Miami (July 28).

J Balvin Earns 10th No. 1 on Billboard Latin Airplay Chart with “Ambiente”

The 33-year-old Colombian urban singer has earned his 10th  No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart with “Ambiente,” the fourth single off his latest studio album, Vibras.

The track zooms 10-1 in its 11thweek on the chart dated July 7, and earns the week’s Greatest Gainer honors thanks to a 70 percent increase in audience (to 16.74 million in the week ending July 1), according to Nielsen Music.

The nine-position leap is the biggest jump to No. 1 since March 10, when Wisin’s “Todo Comienza En La Disco,” featuring Yandel and Daddy Yankee, rose 11 ranks (12-1).

“Ambiente,” which was released on April 13, is Balvin’s third No. 1 of the year. It follows “X” with Nicky Jam, which topped the list on the April 28-dated chart, ruling for two weeks, and “Machika” with Neon and Anitta which led for one week on March 24.

“I’m extremely grateful for so many blessings, for seeing how every day we are reinventing ourselves musically,” Balvin tells Billboard. “Thankful as we go surprising the audience with different sounds and “Ambiente” has not been the exception. I am very happy with this 10th  No. 1. Thank you for everything, onwards with the Latin culture.”

For a second week in a row, Balvin has three songs in the top 10 (“Ambiente” at No. 1, “X” with Nicky Jam steady at No. 2, and “I Like It” with Cardi B and Bad Bunny moving 7-10).

Further, for the first time in his career, Balvin holds down the top two at the same time — an achievement only seven other acts have managed in the chart’s 23-year history. Balvin is also just the fifth act to be both Nos. 1 and 2 as a lead artist, and the first since Pitbull in 2011 (Oct. 15, 2011: “Rain Over Me,” featuring Marc Anthony was No. 1, and “Give Me Everything,” featuring Ne-Yo,Afrojack and Nayer was No. 2).

“Ambiente” also lands atop the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, rising 8-1. It’s Balvin’s 10th No. 1.

Earlier this week, Balvin earned his first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 alongside Cardi B and Bad Bunny with their hit single “I Like It.”

Wisin & Yandel to Reunite at Madison Square Garden Concert in June

Wisin & Yandel are reuniting… and it feels so good!

The Puerto Rican reggaeton duo has announced its first official concert in the United States since their hiatus.

After a temporary separation, Wisin & Yandel will perform a Madison Square Garden on June 8 and will celebrate their Puerto Rican heritage, since the concert takes place during the Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend in New York.

Recently, Wisin & Yandel announced they would reunite for a world tour and new music.

The news came after hinting on social media to a possible reunion, keeping fans on edge.

So far, the pair, have released two songs — “Como Antes” (Yandel featuring Wisin) and “Todo Comienza en la Disco” (Wisin featuring Yandel and Daddy Yankee) — both of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.

Ricky Martin’s “Fiebre” Reaches Top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Songs Chart

The 46-year-old Puerto Rican superstar has notched his 37th top 10 hit on Billboard’s Latin Pop Songs airplay chart, as his new single “Fiebre,” featuring Wisin & Yandel, lifts 15-9 in its third week on the list.

The track jumps 23 percent in spins at the format in the week ending March 11, according to Nielsen Music.

The song was released on February 23, following Martin’s live performance of the tune at the Dubai Jazz Festival.

Notably, out of Martin’s 48 charting titles on the Latin Pop Songs chart, 37 have reached the top 10. He continues to have the second-most top 10s in the tally’s 23-year history, trailing only Enrique Iglesias, with 41.

“Fiebre” is Martin’s first new entry on the chart since “Vente Pa’ Ca,” featuring Maluma, bowed on the list dated October 15, 2016. It peaked at No. 1 for two weeks (November 5-12).

Daddy Yankee’s “Dura” Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican rapper-singer has earned his ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, as “Dura” rises 4-1 on the March 17-dated list.

The song collected 16.4 million in audience impressions (up 15 percent) in the week ending March 11, according to Nielsen Music.

“Dura” is the first single from Daddy Yankee’s upcoming studio album El Disco Duro.

“This song belongs to the people, not me,” Daddy Yankee tells Billboard.

Daddy Yankee replaces himself at No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, as his featured turn on Wisin’s “Todo Comienza En La Disco” (also featuring Yandel) crowned the list a week earlier (March 10). On the new chart, is descends 1-5.

The last time an act replaced itself at No. 1 on Latin Airplay was on November 5, 2016, when J Balvin replaced himself atop the list. That week, Balvin’s “Safari,” featuring Pharrell Williams and Bia & Sky ceded the summit to Zion & Lennox’s “Otra Vez,” featuring Balvin. The latter jumped 4-1, earning Balvin his sixth leader. He’s since added a seventh No. 1 with “Mi Gente,” alongside Willy William, featuring Beyoncé.

On Hot Latin Songs — which blends airplay, sales and streams — “Dura” holds at No. 2 for a second week, and takes Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors. It also hits No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, ascending 3-1. It’s his 17th leader on the list, extending his record for the most No. 1s in the 17-year history of the tally. In second place: Wisin & Yandel, with 14.

Cardi B Earns First No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “La Modelo”

Cardi B has added another chart-topper to her resume…

The 25-year-old half-Dominican American rapper has earned her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart dated March 3, as her collaboration with Ozuna “La Modelo,” zooms 12-1 in its seventh week.

It’s Ozuna’s second No. 1 on the chart.

The track, which earns Greatest Gainer honors, rises a whopping 70 percent in audience in the week ending February 25, according to Nielsen Music, climbing to 16.84 million.

It’s the second song to vault to No. 1 from outside the top 10 in 2018, following Jennifer Lopez’s “Amor, Amor, Amor,” featuring Wisin, which also rose 12-1 (February 3).

Prior to Lopez, Don Omar and Zion & Lennox did it a little over a year ago with “Te Quiero Pa’mi,” jumping 11-1 on the December 24, 2016-dated chart.

Ozuna first led Latin Airplay as the featured act on Wisin’s “Escapate Conmigo,” which spent one week at No. 1 (Sept. 9, 2017), after holding in the top 10 for 16 weeks.

Over on the Hot Latin Songs chart — which blends airplay, sales, and streams — “La Modelo” rises 6-5 as the chart’s greatest gainer in airplay. Ozuna collects his fourth top five on the list and his third this year. Concurrently, the track ascends 86-72 on the Billboard Hot 100.

On the Top Latin Albums chart, Ozuna’s Odisea spends a 26th week at No. 1, tying with Ricky Martin’s Vuelve for the fourth-most weeks ever atop the 24-year-old list.

Jowell & Randy Unleash Massive “Bonita” Remix, Featuring J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Wisin & Yandel

Jowell & Randy are getting a massive assist…

The Puerto Rican reggaeton duo, composed of Joel Muñoz and Randy Ortíz, and J Balvin have joined voices with Nicky JamOzunaWisin and Yandel for a massive remix of their single “Bonita.”

Released Friday on all digital platforms, the new version allows the featured vocalists to add their original lyrical style to give “Bonita” a unique sound.

The song was written by Jowell, Randy, J Balvin and Ronald El Killa.

“In this remix, you can feel the union that has always characterized us in urban music and that we all Latinos must have in this time of Christmas,” Jowell & Randy said in a statement.

On the Billboard charts, the original version of “Bonita” peaked No. 7 on Latin Airplay and No. 8 on Hot Latin Songs, both charts dated November 4.
