Kali Uchis to Perform at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival

The 27-year-old Colombian American singer/songwriter will perform at this year’s Outside Lands.

Produced by Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly and Starr Hill Presents, Outside Lands will return to Golden Gate Park from August 5 to 7.

In addition to Uchis, this year’s lineup will also include Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer, Jack Harlow, Illenium, Lil Uzi Vert, Kali UchisDisclosure and Mitski.

The stacked lineup includes Polo & PanPusha TDominic Fike,  “We are ecstatic to unveil this year’s lineup, which is one of the most dynamic and diverse we’ve ever had. We are ready to get back to Golden Gate Park with our original summer dates again,” said Allen Scott, co-founder and co-producer of Outside Lands and president of concerts and festivals at Another Planet Entertainment. “Last year’s festival was not only a cathartic experience, but a much-needed celebration for the Bay Area and beyond. We can’t wait to do it all again with our Outside Lands community this August.”

Returning this year after an incredibly successful debut in 2021 is the SOMA Tent. Inspired by underground clubs and late nights, SOMA Tent features over nine hours of performances each day and is the perfect place to dance the night (or day) away. This year headliners include San Francisco mainstay and Dirtybird Records founder Claude VonStroke, legendary German house and techno DJ and producer Dixon and Los Angeles producer TOKiMONSTA.

Also returning this year is Grass Lands, which was the first curated cannabis experience at a major American music festival when it premiered in 2018. According to organizers, Grass Lands has become a “much loved” part of the Outside Lands experience. Grass Lands showcases the latest and most innovative products from the growing cannabis industry and is a place where people can learn about and enjoy cannabis in all its forms.

Last year, the festival made its return after taking a year off due to COVID-19. The 2021 edition played out over Halloween weekend with sets from J Balvin and Tyler, the Creator.

Weekend passes go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT on the Outside Lands website, with three-day general admission starting at $399, and three-day VIP passes at $799.

Adrian Quesada & the Black Pumas to Perform at This Year’s BeachLife Festival

The 45-year-old Mexican American Grammy-winning producer and guitarist and his Black Pumas band mate Eric Burton will be performing at this year’s BeachLife Festival, Los Angeles County’s coastal three-day immersive experience.

Adrian Quesada, Black PumasTaking place the weekend of May 13-15, the third edition of the eclectic beach-focused lineup for the event featured more than 55 artists across the spectrum of rock, indie, jam, reggae and more.

The Black Pumas are scheduled to perform on Friday, May 13, alongside Weezer, 311 and Cold War Kids, among others.

Meanwhile, Ozomatli will be taking the stage at the festival on Sunday, May 15.

The six-piece band, which plays primarily Latin, hip hop and rock music, will perform on the same night as the Steve Miller Band, Sheryl Crow and UB40 featuring Ali Campbell.

This year’s acts will be performing on four stages.

The boutique, family-friendly destination event debuted in 2019 and focuses on philanthropy, as well as eco-friendly and sustainable initiatives.

BeachLife was co-founded by entrepreneurs Allen Sanford and Rob Lissner and is partially curated by Jim Lindberg from the famed South Bay punk rock band Pennywise, who books the festival’s SpeakEasy Stage.

This year’s festival will support many organizations in Southern California’s South Bay community and beyond, with the help of the LA Kings and a number of national and local nonprofit organizations including Surfrider, Heal The Bay, Walk With Sally, Life Rolls On, Wyland Foundation, Redondo Beach Education Foundation, Redondo Beach Police Foundation and the Rob Machado Foundation.

Also making a return is the Daou SideStage Experience, providing foodies the opportunity to be seated onstage and served a four-course meal by celebrity chefs while their favorite musicians perform.

BeachLife will offer various food and beverage options including a massive craft beer bar with local breweries, and multiple bars, lounges, food vendors, and food trucks across the venue, accessible to all festival goers.

Tainy Executive Produces the “SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run” Soundtrack, Releases First Single “Agua” with J Balvin

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican record producer and songwriter is the mastermind behind Paramount AnimationNickelodeon and NEON16’s SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run movie soundtrack.

Tainy executive produced the album alongside renowned industry leader Lex Borrero, with NEON16 curating the official soundtrack of the forthcoming animated film. 

This marks the first time the Latin multimedia company and talent incubator has partnered with the animated franchise.

The soundtrack, set to be released via NEON16/Interscope Records, will include songs by Tyga, Swae Lee, Lil Mosey, Weezer, Snoop Dogg, The Flaming LipsKenny G and Cyndi Lauper, to name a few. 

Additionally, Hans Zimmer is expected to score the film.

Kicking off the soundtrack is Tainy and J Balvin’s single “Agua,” which was released on Thursday, July 9.

“Tomorrow it’s officially out,” Balvin expressed on Instagram posing with Patrick Star. “It was meant to be a secret but oh well! I know that this song has good vibes and a lot of happiness, which we need during these moments.”

SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Runwill debut digitally in the U.S via premium video on demand in early 2021 and then move exclusively to CBS All Access, ViacomCBS’ subscription video on demand and live-streaming service, following the premium video-on-demand window.
