The 27-year-old Mexican American singer/actress is is set to launch a quarantine-themed cooking show for HBO Max.
The WarnerMedia streaming service has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to the Untitled Cooking Project, starring and executive produced by Gomez via her July Moon Productions.
It’s slated to premiere this summer.
In each episode, Gomez will be joined remotely by a different master chef. Together, they’ll tackle a variety of cuisines, share tips and tricks, and deal with everything from smoking ovens to missing ingredients.
Each episode will highlight a food-related charity, while embracing both the struggle and the joy of learning to cook, inviting audiences to follow along at home.
The 32-year-old transgender Afro-Puerto Rican dancer, instructor, model, activist, and ballroom dancer, known as the “Wonder Woman of Vogue,” will serve as a judge on HBO Max’s upcoming voguing competition series Legendary.
The Good Place’sJameela Jamilwill serve as the host and a judge alongside Maldonado, Megan Thee Stallion and Law Roach. They’ll be joined by a weekly rotating guest judge, with commentary by DJ MikeQand Dashaun Wesley, who’ll emcee with Jamil.
In the 10-episode Legendary, from Scout Productions, divas will battle on voguing teams called “houses,” with the chance to win a cash prize in ballsy fashion and dance challenges to ultimately achieve “Legendary” status.
Voguing is a competitive style of modern dance featuring over-the-top fashion and choreography based on poses struck by models on a catwalk.
Legendary will feature 10 voguing “houses,” each comprised of five performers and a leader – the house “parent.” The teams rotate in a round-robin format, and each episode documents a themed ball from start to finish.
The competition show isset to launch on WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service, which debuts in spring 2020.
Maldonado was a member of the dance troupe “Vogue Evolution,” which was featured on America’s Best Dance Crew. She has worked with artists like Willow Smith,Icona Pop, and CocoRosie. She’s also a choreographer for the ballroom scenes in FX’s Pose.
HBO Europe has released the first trailer for the 59-year-old Spanish film and television director’s drama Foodie Love and set a premiere date.
The WarnerMediabroadcaster is to launch the series, which features Laia Costa, star of German crime feature Victoria, and Cromoand Supermaxstar Guillermo Pfeningin December across Europe.
Foodie Loveis an eight-part, half-hour series about the relationship between two food lovers who meet through a mobile app.
Costa plays one half of the couple whose relationship is forged between courses. She plays a thirty-three-year-old book editor, smart, and somewhat suspicious of relationships. Argentinian actor Pfening plays the other half, a successful mathematician, cultivated, and at times a little naïve.
The two thirtysomethings embark on getting to know each other with the doubts of those who retain the scars of previous relationships. Over several dates they’ll have to discover if their common devotion to Japanese yuzu or shared distaste for foodie pretension are enough to build the foundations of a lasting love story.
In Spain, where the series marks HBO Europe’s first original out of the country, it will launch on December 4 and will roll out across the rest of the continent on December 25.
HBO Europe operates a slew of linear and digital services including SVOD services in Scandinavia, Spain and Portugal as well as linear networks across Central Europe. In the Baltics,HBO content is available via partner Telia in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The series is Coixet’s first television series; she previously directed Emily Mortimer-fronted feature The Bookshop. It is produced by Miss Wasabi Filmsand filmed in Spain, France, Rome and Tokyo. Real restaurants, cafes and bars will provide the backdrop for the couple’s dates.
The 32-year-old Colombian American actress’ superhero series Doom Patrol will be returning for a second season on DC Universe via a deal with HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s forthcoming streaming service, which has been a champion of the series.
Under the DC Universe/HBO Max deal, new original episodes of the series will debut in 2020.
Additionally, upon the spring 2020 launch of HBO Max, all 15 episodes of Doom Patrolseason one will be available for streaming.
Doom Patrolis based on the DC characters originally written and drawn by Arnold Drake, Bob Haneyand Bruno Premiani. The series is a re-imagining of the beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane (Guerrero), led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief).
