The 40-year-old Puerto Rican singing sensation—who recently appeared on Fox’s hit musical dramedy Glee—and Nicki Minaj appeared on Good Morning America and Live! With Kelly to promote their new partnership with M.A.C. Cosmetics.

Along with promoting their new M.A.C. Viva Glam products to the world— appropriately called Viva Glam Ricky and Viva Glam Nicki—Martin and Minaj are using their star power to promote HIV/AIDS awareness.

“Let’s take the power that we have, and let’s tell the world that this is still a very big issue,” says Martin.

Minaj, meantime, said she always wanted to be a part of Viva Glam, “because they give back to people with AIDS,” she said. “They’re in need of food, they’re in need of shelter, they’re in need of medicine. M.A.C. and this lipstick make it possible.”

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the M.A.C. Viva Glam lipstick and lip gloss will be donated to the M.A.C. AIDS Fund.

“MAC is once again at the intersection of fashion and pop culture,” said John Demsey, group president of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. and chairman of the MAC AIDS Fund, of the Minaj-Martin pairing. To date, MAC has raised $236 million with the MAC AIDS Fund and is on track to raise $250 million by June, said Demsey.
