William Levy Lands Series Regular Role on Fox’s Music Drama Series “Star”

The 37-year-old Cuban actor is joining the cast of Fox’s music drama series Star as a new series regular for the upcoming third season.

Levy will play Mateo Ferrera, a driven media mogul who can charm the devil into church. He is rich, successful, smooth as silk and married to his equal, Nina Ferrera, played by Camila Banus. Mateo makes and breaks his own rules as he sprints toward success. The first generation son of immigrant parents, he is determined to make his mark and build his legacy by any means necessary.

Co-created by Lee Daniels and Tom DonaghyStar follows three talented singers – running from their pasts and desperate for a new start – with ambitions of stardom, as they navigate the cutthroat music business.

The large ensemble cast includes Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Ryan DestinyBrittany O’Grady, Amiyah Scott, Quincy Brown, Miss LawrenceMichael Michele, Stephen Dorff and Luke James.

Telenovela star Levy’s Spanish-language Triunfo Del Amor was the most watched scripted series on American television. On the film side, Levy appeared in Lionsgate’s Addicted, Universal’s Term Life alongside Vince Vaughn, and most recently, Universal’s blockbuster Girls Trip.

Guillen Starring in the Teen Comedy “Status Update”

The Latino actor is starring in Scott Speer’s teen comedy Status Update, which is currently in production in Vancouver.

The film, written by 17 Again scribe Jason Filardi, is billed as Big for the millennial generation and follows a high school kid, Kyle (Ross Lynch), who after being uprooted by the separation of his parents (Rob Riggle and Wendi McLendon-Covey) meets a foulmouthed mystical bearded guy (Josh Ostrovsky) who gives him a magical app that causes his social media updates to come true. As Kyle elevates to hero status at his new high school, his newfound powers abruptly backfire, sending him crashing back to earth.

Guillen is best known for his role in 2013’s The Internship, where he starred alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. He also starred opposite Victoria Justice in the MTV series Eye Candy.

Levy to Produce Docuseries on Hispanic NASCAR Race Car Drivers

The 34-year-old Cuban actor and telenovela star is partnering with NASCAR Productions and its Entertainment Marketing division to produce a non-scripted docuseries about Hispanic race car drivers.

The series will focus on the challenges the Latino drivers face as they try to make it in NASCAR, the biggest motorsport in America.

The project will follow the drivers as they strive to make names for themselves within the sport while also trying to make it in America. NASCAR Productions, Levy and Gladys Gonzalez will produce this project.

Levy’s Spanish-language Triunfo Del Amor was the most watched scripted series on American television. In film, Levy appeared in Lionsgate’s Addicted and next will be seen in Universal PicturesTerm Life alongside Vince Vaughn.

“I’m truly thrilled about partnering with NASCAR and I can’t wait to show my fans worldwide this creative endeavor,” said Levy.

NASCAR Productions is continually working to integrate NASCAR into mainstream pop culture in an effort to expand the sport’s reach to new and more diverse audiences.

The 45-year-old Puerto Rican actress/singer and American Idol judge is among the second batch of presenters announced today by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) for the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Lopez, who received a Golden Globe nomination in 1998 for her breakout role in Selena, joins a list of presenters that includes Jennifer Aniston, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, Jamie Dornan, Colin Firth, Jane Fonda, Harrison Ford, Bill Hader, Katherine Heigl, Dakota Johnson, Adam Levine, Matthew McConaughey, Seth Meyers, Lupita Nyong’o, Jeremy Renner, Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, Vince Vaughn, and Kerry Washington.

They will join previously announced presenters; Amy Adams, Adrien Brody, Robert Downey Jr., Anna Farris, Ricky Gervais, Kevin Hart, Salma Hayek, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Pratt, Channing Tatum, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The ceremony, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the third year in a row, will air on Sunday, January 11 live coast-to-coast on NBC with the pre-show from 4-5 PM (PST)/7-8 PM (EST), and main telecast from 5-8 PM (PST)/8-11 PM (EST) from the Beverly Hilton.

Rios, who most recently starred on FX’s The Bridge, will portray Gabby Behenna, traumatized by life in a traumatic family.

Rios, who rose to acclaim in 2006’s Quinceañera, is currently shooting Paint It Black.

Her other television credits include guest appearances on Grimm, Almost Human, Private Practice, Breaking Bad and Friday Night Lights.

Martinez Lands Recurring Role on HBO’s “True Detective”

The Cuban-Puerto Rican actress has joined the cast of the upcoming season of HBO’s True Detective, which will also feature Adria Arjona.

Martinez, who stars opposite Mark Consuelos in Amazon StudiosAlpha House, will serve as a recurring actor on the second installment of the crime franchise.

The upcoming season revolves around three police officers (Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams) and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn) who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

Martinez plays Andrea, a Mexican-American immigrant who runs an inn.

She’s also a recurring actress on the CW’s Jane The Virgin. Her other television credits include Necessary Roughness, Nashville, Hollywood Heights, Breakout Kings and Southland.

Arjona Lands Recurring Role on HBO’s “True Detective”

The Latina actress has landed a recurring on the upcoming second season of HBO’s True Detective.

The second installment in the crime franchise revolves around three police officers, played by Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams, and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn) who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

Arjona, who recently landed a regular role on Michael Bay/Jerry Brukcheimer’s Miami drug-trade drama pilot at TNT, will play Emily, Kitsch’s girlish but practical girlfriend.

Arjona previous television credits include appearances on Unforgettable, Point of Interest and Narcos.

Dawson Reportedly in the Running to Join HBO’s “True Detective”

It seems Rosario Dawson may be headed to pay cable television…

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban American actress is reportedly among the actresses in the running to join HBO’s True Detective season 2.

According to The Wrap Dawson is among the list of at least seven more actresses being considered for the role after Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams were previously eying the part.

In addition to Dawson, who appears in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the site says Jessica Biel (“Total Recall“), Malin Akerman (“Watchmen“), Jaimie Alexander (“Thor“), Kelly Reilly (“Eden Lake“), Brit Marling (“The Keeping Room“) and Oona Chaplin (“Game of Thrones“).

Insiders say Moss and McAdams should not be ruled out of contention yet. At some point, Jessica Chastain was linked to the part too, but reps for the Zero Dark Thirty (2012) actress quickly denied it.

In addition to a female lead, the upcoming new season of the Nic Pizzolatto-created anthology series will feature three male leads. Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn are said vying for the roles.

Levy to Star as Jordi Molla’s Son in the Crime Thriller “Term Life”

It’s William Levy’s term to impress American audiences once again…

The 33-year-old Cuban actor, telenovela star and former Dancing with the Stars competitor has joined the cast of the Vince Vaughn– and Hailee Steinfeld-starring crime thriller Term Life.

The film follows Nick Barrow (portrayed by Vaughn), who takes his estranged daughter (Steinfeld) on the lam when a heist goes south and he’s forced to take out a life insurance policy on himself that doesn’t take effect for 21 days.

In addition to Levy, the film will also star Bad Boys II alum Jordi Molla has been cast in the Peter Billingsley-helmed film as a ruthless Mexican cartel leader Victor Fuentes, who’s after Barrow.

Levy, meantime, will bring to life the role of Molla’s character’s son Alejandro.

He most recently filmed the feature The Veil. He’s shooting Change Of Heart with Jim Belushi and Virginia Madsen and will be seen in Lionsgate’s Addicted.

Guillen to Star Opposite Victoria Justice in MTV’s Pilot “Eye Candy”

It’s a case of eye candy for Harvey Guillen

The Latino actor has been cast in the MTV cyber thriller pilot Eye Candy, which stars former Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice.

The pilot centers on Lindy (portrayed by Justice), a reclusive hacker whose blog exposes everything from terrorist plots to suspected killers. She is targeted by a dangerous cyber stalker and teams up with the city’s cyber-crime unit to catch him.

Guillen will portray Juan, a brilliant hacker with the cyber crime unit who also is on the hunt for her stalker.

Guillen’s credits include roles on ABC Family’s Huge, Fox’s Raising Hope and ABC’s Miss Guided.

He most recently starred opposite Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in The Internship.
