Fabolous is a mixtape master… And, he could soon have a special award to prove it.
The 36-year-old half-Dominican American hip-hop recording artist has earned a 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards nomination.
Fabolous – who won a BET Hip-Hop Award in 2009 in the Viewer’s Choice category for “Throw It in the Bag,” his collaboration with The-Dream – is up for Best Mixtape for his The Soul Tape 3, the third installment of his Soul Tape mixtape series.
Fabolous wil face off against Action Bronson’s Blue Chips 2, Migos’ No Label 2, Rich Homie Quan’s I Promise I Will Never Stop Going In and Wiz Khalifa’s 28 Grams.
This is his third BET Hip-Hop Award nomination of his career.
The 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards are set to take place on September 20 in Atlanta; Snoop Dogg is hosting this year’s event, which will premiere on the cable network on October 14 at 8:00 pm EST.
Drake leads this year’s nominations with a total of eight nods (Track of the year nominees are the producers, not the artists). Other nominees include Iggy Azalea, J. Cole and Nicki Minaj.
