Keyla Monterroso Mejia has new representation.

The Guatemalan and Mexican American actress and Curb Your Enthusiasm star has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA).

Keyla Monterroso Mejia Monterroso Mejia rose to acclaim as Maria Sofia Estrada, a short-order cook turned actress, on the 11th season of the Larry David comedy.

Although Maria Sofia’s acting skills leave much to be desired, it’s her dance moves and hilarious banter with Cheryl Hines (and tussle with Ted Danson) that solidifies Monterroso Mejia’s status as an up-and-comer to watch.

She previously starred in the Disney+ short Growing Fangs and the HBO Max short The 90 Day Plan.

Up next, Monterroso Mejia will star as a series regular in Netflix’s On My Block spin-off, Freeridge.

Manolo Cardona Signs with United Talent Agency (UTA)

Manolo Cardona has new representation…

The 44-year-old Colombian actor, the star of Netflix’s acclaimed series Who Killed Sara?, has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA).

The Hollywood agency will represent Cardona in all areas, including his on screen roles and his Mexican production company 11-11.

Cardona plays lead Alex Guzmán in the Mexican mystery thriller, known locally as ¿Quién mató a Sara?, which recently aired its second season and is expected to return for a third season.

In the series, which is one of the streamer’s most successful non-English language dramas, Cardona plays Guzmán, who after spending 18 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, is hellbent on finding out who killed his sister Sara and getting revenge on the Lazcano family who wronged him.

He’s also set to star in Apple TV+ drama series Now and Then opposite Marina de Tavira.

Previously, he starred in Netflix’s Narcos, Mexican drama Maria Magdalena and Colombian series 2091.

Cardona owns, with his brother, Mexican television and film production company 11-11 and UTA will help amplify the company’s presence in the U.S. market.

Demi Lovato Signs with United Talent Agency (UTA)

Demi Lovato is making a switch…

The 28-year-old half-Mexican American singer, songwriter and actor is making the move from William Morris Endeavor (WME) to United Talent Agency (UTA).

Lovato will be represented by UTA in all areas worldwide.

Over the course of their music career, Lovato has released seven albums, all of which have landed in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to MRC Data. The artist’s 2009 album Here We Go Again reached No. 1 on the tally.

Lovato has also landed 35 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including four top 10s, according to MRC Data. They have sold 2.7 million albums and 23.8 million song downloads and their songs have registered 5.6 billion on-demand U.S. streams.

According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, Lovato’s tours have grossed $56.8 million and sold 1.1 million tickets. Their most recent tour, 2018’s Tell Me You Love Me Tour, was their biggest yet, earning $21.5 million.

In 2020, Lovato kicked off a career resurgence when they debuted their ballad “Anyone” during a stripped-down performance at the Grammy Awards and performed the national anthem at Super Bowl LIV.

In April, Lovato’s Dancing With The Devil…The Art of Starting Over reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The album coincided with the launch of Lovato’s powerful four-part documentary series from YouTube Originals and director Michael D. Ratner entitled Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil.

The docuseries opened the 2021 SXSW festival and detailed Lovato’s life as a pop star and the trauma they have faced. For the first time, Lovato opened up about every aspect that led to their nearly fatal overdose in 2018 and their awakenings in the aftermath. That series was preceded by a YouTube Originals documentary in 2017 titled Simply Complicated, which has garnered more than 35 million views.

On May 19, 2021, Lovato premiered their new podcast, 4D With Demi Lovato, where they announced that they identify as non-binary and have officially changed their pronouns to they/them.

Lovato has been honored over the years with numerous awards and accolades for their work, including an MTV Video Music Award, 14 Teen Choice Awards, five People’s Choice Awards, an American Latino Media Arts Award, a Latin American Music Award and a GLAAD Vanguard Award for their services to LGBT activism. They have also received two Grammy Award nominations, four Billboard Music Awards nominations and three Brit Award nominations for their work.

Outside of music, Lovato’s film and television credits include Smurfs: The Lost Village, Sonny with a Chance, Glee, Barney & Friends and the final season of Will & Grace. They were also featured alongside Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams and Pierce Brosnan in Netflix’s hit feature film Eurovision and have appeared as a mentor on the U.S. version of The X Factor.

Lovato is next starring in the NBC single-camera comedy pilot Hungry, which follows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group. Alba has made more than 25 feature films, earning a combined box office total of over $800 million. After breaking out in James Cameron’s Fox series Dark Angelshe went on to star in Fox/Marvel’s Fantastic Four

United Talent Agency (UTA) has signed the 24-year-old half-Mexican American actress and Broadway star in all areas.

Noblezada can be seen starring in Sony’s musical drama, Yellow Rose, marking her feature film debut. The project was theatrically released worldwide onFriday. She plays the titular role of ‘Rose,’ a Filipino teen from a small Texas town who, while facing the threat of deportation, continues to fight for her dream as a country music star.

On Broadway, she made her debut as the title role in the revival of Miss Saigon, which earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.

She also starred in Hadestown, which made her one of just a handful of actors to receive Tony nominations for their first two Broadway roles.

She received a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album for her work on the show.

Gregory Diaz IV has new representation…

The 15-year-old Puerto Rican actor, who stars in Jon Chu’s upcoming Warner Bros. feature musical In The Heights, has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA).

Diaz previously appeared on Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and NBC’s New Amsterdam.

Diaz made his name on Broadway with his performance as Bruce in Matilda the Musical in 2016 and also performed Off-Broadway in Pedro PanZurich and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

He plays Sonny de la Vega in In the Heights, which is based on the musical by Quiara Alegria Hudes and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film is scheduled for release in June 2021.

Diaz can also be seen in upcoming comedy film Vampires vs. the Bronx, written and directed by Oz Rodriguez and produced by Lorne Michaels.

Maite Alberdi has new representation…

The 37-year-old Chilean producer, director, documentarianand screenwriter has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) for worldwide representation in all areas.

Alberdi runs the production company Micromundo Productions and is known for making documentaries that paint intimate portraits of characters in small-scale worlds.

Most recently, Alberdi directed and wrote the documentary The Mole Agent, which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize for “World Cinema – Documentary” at the 2020 Sundance Film FestivalThe Mole Agent was also nominated for awards at the Cleveland International Film Festival and the Miami Film Festival, among others.

Ahead of the film’s Sundance screening, Alberdi won the prestigious 2020 Chicken & Egg Award, which annually recognizes six experienced documentarians.

Previously, Alberdi directed, produced, and wrote the 2016 feature documentary The Grown-Ups. Her additional credits include the documentary short I’m Not From Here and the feature documentaries Tea Time and The Lifeguard

Alberdi also co-authored the book Teorías de cine documental en Chile 1957-1973.

The 29-year-old part-Mexican American actress has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA).

Barbaro will appear as ‘Phoenix,’ the sole female fighter pilot, in the upcoming Paramount/SkydanceTom Cruisesequel Top Gun: Maverick set for release on June 26.

Barbaro recently appeared in ABC’s Stumptownand reprised her recurring role in Splitting Up Together for the same network.

Additionally, Barbaro starred in the Netflix series The Good Cop opposite Josh Groban and Tony Danza. She’s best known for her role as Yael on the second season of Lifetime’s critically acclaimed series UnREAL

United Talent Agency (UTA) has signed the 29-year-old Mexican actor in all areas.

Espitia most recently starred in Heidi Ewing’s drama I Carry You With Me, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won the Audience Awardand Grand Jury Awardin the Next!categories.

Espitia first came to prominence with his leading role in Amat Escalante’s Cannes Film Festival title Heli and also starred as the lead in Nuestras Madreswhich opened at Cannes in Critics’ Weekwhere it picked up the Caméra d’Or.

Additionally, he has appeared in several features including Ayúdame A Pasar La Noche,and Open Cage

On the television side, his credits include Amazon’s Diablo GuardiánTelemundo’s El Recluso as well as History Channel’s Texas Rising

He also founded the theater company Conejo Con Prisa.

Mauricio Ochmann Signs with United Talent Agency (UTA)

Mauricio Ochmann has new representation…

The 42-year-old Mexican American actor and telenovela star has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) for representation in all areas.

Ochmann’s credits include El Señor de los Cielos and its spinoff El Chema, the latter being the highest rated television show in Telemundo history. 

His feature film credits include Hazlo Como Hombreand Ya Veremos, both of which have been hits in Mexico, grossing around $10 million each. 

His next U.S. release will be Y Como Es El, a two hander with Omar Chaparroreleasing in April via Pantelion/Lionsgate.

The actor is currently shooting in Mexico on Salvador Espinosa’s Netflixoriginal Ahi Te Encargo.

Alongside acting work, Ochmann is moving into directing, having helmed English language short Diaz. He’s now developing his feature debut.

Ochmann and his wife Aislinn Derbez, also an actor, run their production company A Toda Madre Entertainment, which has several features in development, including one with Sony Pictures.
