Xochitl Gomez to Compete on Season 32 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”

The 17-year-old Mexican American actress and Marvel star will compete on season 32 of Dancing with the Stars.

Venezuelan YouTuber, actress and singer Lele Pons, 27, and Mexican real estate mogul and television star Mauricio Umansky, 53, will also compete this season.

Other competitors include Mira SorvinoAriana MadixCharity LawsonJamie Lynn Spears, Alyson Hannigan and NFL star Adrian Peterson.

“There’s something for everyone in this cast,” says executive producer Conrad Green. “What’s interesting with a lot of our contestants this year is this real drive and excitement about doing it. There’s a real passion for it. It’s been a tough number of years, one way or another with the strikes going on and all these things. So what I’m hoping we can bring to people is bringing Dancing back and giving audiences a blast of sunshine early in the week.”

After Tyra Banks‘ exit, Alfonso Ribeiro will return as a host, stepping onto the main stage, while former Dancing pro Julianne Hough joins to take over Ribeiro’s former cohost slot in the Sky Box.

The show is also back in its original home, airing live on ABC, after being solely available on Disney+ last season (where it will now stream concurrently).

Justina Machado to Compete on ABC’s Upcoming Season of “Dancing With The Stars”

The 47-year-old Puerto Rican actress, who currently stars on PopTV’s One Day at a Time, will compete on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars this season.

Machado will compete against Tiger King’s Carole Baskin, rapper Nelly, Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause and NBA legend Charles Oakley among others for the coveted DTWS mirrorball trophy.

The ABC celebrity ballroom dancing competition series, based on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, will premiere on September 14 with new host Tyra Banks.

This season’s other competirors include Monica Aldama, star of Netflix’s Cheer, Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson, The Real’s Jeannie Mai, Catfish’s Nev Schulman, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis, Anne Heche, Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean, and The Bachelor’s Kaitlyn Bristowe.

This season’s professional dancers include Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Cheryl Burke, Artem Chigvintsev, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater and Britt Stewart.

In addition to hosting, Banks will also serve as an executive producer this season. She replaces Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as the show’s host in season 29.

One of the challenges for this season is to ensure that the production adheres to COVID-19 protocols, a trickier move for a dance competition format than many other productions. Details of the health and safety protocols and other format refreshes are expected imminently.

Freeform Releases Trailer for Francia Raisa’s “Life-Size 2”

Freeform has released the official trailer for Life-Size 2, starring the 30-year-old Honduran and Mexican American actress and Tyra Banks.

In the film,  Raisa plays Grace Manning, a 20-something CEO of Marathon Toys, a huge toy company started by her mother that is most famous for manufacturing the iconic Eve doll. Grace is also in the middle of her quarter-life crisis, realizing she is in over her head as CEO. To make matters worse, her wild-child ways are causing the company’s stock to plummet. With the help of her young next-door neighbor, Grace’s old Eve doll (Banks) magically awakens to help get Grace back on track and give her the confidence to be the woman and leader Eve knows Grace can be.

The movie also stars Alison Fernandez, Gavin Stenhouse, Shanica Knowles and Hank Chen.

Life-Size 2 premieres on Sunday, December 2, at 9:00 pm EST/PST.

The film is written by Cameron Fay and Stacey Harman and directed by Steven K. Tsuchida.

The 35-year-old half-Mexican American actress, author and entrepreneur will serve as an adviser on NBC’s The New Celebrity Apprentice.

The series, set in Los Angeles with new host Arnold Schwarzenegger reigning over the boardroom, will premiere at 8:00 pm on Monday, January 2.

In addition to Alba, the founder and chief creative officer of the Honest Company and Honest Beauty, the new season’s advisers include investment guru Warren Buffett, Los Angeles Clippers owner and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer; supermodel and actress Tyra Banks, CEO of the Tyra Banks Company and cosmetics brand Tyra Beauty; and entertainment attorney Patrick Schwarzenegger, Arnold’s nephew.
