Howie Dorough & the Backstreet Boys to Perform on Fox’s ‘New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey’ Special

Howie Dorough is ready to ring in the New Year with a bangin’ performance…

The 46-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his Backstreet Boys mates will take the stage for Fox’s third annual Fox’s New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey: Live from Times Square special.

Dorough and the Backstreet Boys join a lineup that includes LL Cool JDJ Z-Trip, the Chainsmokers, the Lumineers, Florida Georgia LineTygaand The Killers, along with celebrity appearances by Gordon RamsayWill Arnettand Jenna Dewan.

Maria Menounos and NFL ex-player Rob Gronkowskiwill co-host the evening, which will feature a performance by Angel Moralesand his fellow Village Peoplemembers as the group tries to set a world record for the largest YMCAdance.

The evening also will feature a WWE match with Roman Reigns.

The Fox party starts at 8:00 pm live from Manhattan, with a tape-delayed edition for the Mountain and Pacific time zones.

J Balvin Earns 17th No. 1 on Billboard Latin Airplay Chart with “Loco Contigo”

The 34-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer and rapper’s collaboration with DJ Snakeand Tyga, “Loco Contigo,”rises 2-1 on the BillboardLatin Airplaychart dated November 2.

With the move, J Balvin goes into a four-way tie with Daddy YankeeRicky Martinand Romeo Santosfor the second-most No. 1s in the chart’s history , all with 17 (Enrique Iglesiascontinues at the helm with 30).

“Loco Contigo” arrives at the summit almost a year after DJ Snake claimed his first leader on the tally with “Taki Taki” (on the December 8, 2018-dated chart). Meanwhile, it marks the first No. 1 for American rapper Tygaon any BillboardLatin chart.  

The Spanglish track released via DJ Snake/Geffen/Interscopeon June 14, lands in the penthouse in its 14th week on the chart with 12.7 million in audience impressions (up 1%) earned in the week ending October 27, according to Nielsen Music.

J Balvin Collaborating with Chris Brown & Tyga on New Music

J Balvinis working on his latest high-profile collaboration… And he’s planning to release it soon.

The 33-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer has revealed that he’s working on a collaboration with  Chris Brown and Tyga — and that it’s coming any day.

“It will be released soon. You have to wait until it’s out!” said J Balvin, refusing to dish more. 

J Balvin, who earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as a featured artist on Cardi B’s “I Like It,” most recently collaborated with Rosalia on “Con Altura.”

Dash to Star in JD Dillard’s Urban Magic Thriller “Sleight”

Stacey Dash has landed the sleightest role…

The 48-year-old part-Mexican American actress, former Clueless star and Fox News contributor has joined the cast of JD Dillard’s Sleight from Diablo Entertainment.

Sleight is an urban magic thriller about a young Los Angeles street magician who is left to take care of his little sister after their mother’s death. He turns to drug dealing to keep a roof over their heads. After he has a run-in with his supplier and his sister is kidnapped, the magician has but no choice but to rely on his exceptional talents.

In addition to Dash, new cast members include Syechelle Gabriel, the 24-year-old part-Mexican American actress who appeared on TNT’s Falling Skies, Sasheer Zamata and Cameron Esposito.

The film stars Dulé Hill, Jacob Latimore and hip-hop artist Tyga.

Production begins this month.

Ortiz Joins the Cast of Voltage Pictures’ Untitled Detective Comedy Starring Bruce Willis

Victor Ortiz has landed his next movie role…

The 28-year-old Mexican American actor and former boxer has joined the cast of Voltage Pictures’ untitled detective comedy starring Bruce Willis.

Ortize rounds out a cast that includes Tyga, Ken Davitian, David Arquette, John Goodman, Jason Momoa, Famke Janssen, Stephanie Sigman, Thomas Middleditch, Adrian Martinez, Kal Penn and Adam Goldberg.

Production began last month in Venice Beach on the film, which stars Willis as a down but not out L.A. private investigator whose professional and personal worlds collide after his loving pet Buddy is stolen by a notorious gang. A series of bizarre circumstances find him doing the gang’s bidding, while being chased by two vengeful Samoan brothers, a loan shark’s goons, and a few other shady characters.

Mark and Robb Cullen, who also wrote the Willis-starring movie Cop Out, are directing the film.

Ortiz, a former WBC Welterweight champion and Dancing with the Stars competitor, has starred opposite Antonio Banderas in The Expendables 3 and Jake Gyllenhaal in Southpaw.

Miguel Receives Three 2012 BET Awards Nominations

The nominations for the 2012 BET Awards have been unveiled… And, rising star Miguel leads the Latino pack of nominees with three nods.

The 25-year-old half-Mexican R&B singer/songwriter has received a nomination in the Best Male R&B Artist category. He’ll face off against fellow Latino singer Bruno Mars, as well as Chris Brown, Trey Songz and Usher.

In addition, Miguel has been nominated in the Best Collaboration category with Wale for their song Lotus Flower Bomb.” Other nominees include Beyonce f/ J. Cole – “Party,” Big Sean f/ Kanye West & Roscoe Dash – “Marvin & Chardonnay,” DJ Khaled f/ Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne – “I’m On One,” Drake f/ Lil Wayne & Tyga – “The Motto,” The Throne (Jay-Z & Kanye West) f/ Otis Redding – “Otis.”

Miguel’s final nod comes in the Coca-Cola Viewer’s Choice Award category for his same collaboration with Wale on “Lotus Flower Bomb.” The pair will face off against Beyonce – “Love On Top,” Chris Brown – “Turn Up the Music,” Drake f/ Lil Wayne & Tyga – “The Motto,” Mindless Behavior – and “Hello,” The Throne (Jay-Z & Kanye West) f/ Otis Redding – “Otis.”

But Miguel and Bruno Mars aren’t the only Latino artists getting nominations… Zoe Saldana received a nod in the Best Actress category, while New York Giants’ star Victor Cruz was nominated in the Subway Sportsman of the Year category.

The 2012 BET Awards, which will be hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, will be held on July 1 at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. Last year’s awards show drew 7.7 million viewers on BET.
