The 39-year-old Mexican American actress and former Desperate Housewives star been tapped to present the Screen Actors Guild nominations on December 10, SAG officials announced Monday.

Longoria, an executive producer on Lifetime’s Devious Maids, will be joined by The Fault in Our StarsAnsel Elgort.

The nominations will be unveiled at 6:00 am PT by the duo.

The SAG Awards will take place on January 25, 2015 and will be televised by TNT and TBS beginning at 5:00 pm PT.

Arjona Lands Recurring Role on HBO’s “True Detective”

The Latina actress has landed a recurring on the upcoming second season of HBO’s True Detective.

The second installment in the crime franchise revolves around three police officers, played by Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams, and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn) who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

Arjona, who recently landed a regular role on Michael Bay/Jerry Brukcheimer’s Miami drug-trade drama pilot at TNT, will play Emily, Kitsch’s girlish but practical girlfriend.

Arjona previous television credits include appearances on Unforgettable, Point of Interest and Narcos.

Jaenada Lands Series Regular Role on TNT’s Untitled Miami Project

It’s dealer or no deal for Óscar Jaenada…

The 39-year-old Spanish actor has landed a series regular role on TNT’s Untitled Miami Project.

From Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay and written by Masters Of Sex creator/executive producer Michelle Ashford, the serialized character drama is set in the wild and unpredictable world of the Florida drug trade in the 1970s.

Jaenada, who most recently starred in the Spanish-language biopic Cantinflas, will portray Jimeno “The Poodle” Padilla, a pot dealer-turned-cocaine trafficker.

But Jaenada isn’t the only Latin actor joining the cast.

Adria Arjona will portray Colombia-born Maria Zorilla. She’s in love with all things American and also is one of the most vicious drug traffickers to ever grace the Miami stage.

Kristen Hager and Kelsey Siepser will also star in the television series.

Di Pace to Star in NBC’s Event Series “A.D.,” A Follow-Up to “The Bible” Miniseries

The 35-year-old Argentine actor, singer and director has been cast in Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s 12-episode NBC event series A.D., which is set to premiere on Easter Sunday, April 5.

A follow-up to Burnett and Downey’s highly rated The Bible miniseries, A.D. chronicles the aftermath of Jesus’ crucifixion as the tiny band of followers fight for survival while they try to spread the Word to the world. But they have hope and soon they have power: the amazing miracle of the resurrection, and the arrival of the Holy Spirit upon them.

Di Pace, who most recently starred on TNT’s Dallas, will portray Jesus, the charismatic leader who appears only when dying on the cross, or in resurrected divine form.

Di Pace’s other credits include the films Mamma Mia! and Survival Island, as well as television appearances on Camp.

Moreno Joins Cast of the Drug Biopic About Griselda Blanco, “The Godmother”

Catalina Sandino Moreno is heading back into the drug world…

The 33-year-old Colombian actress, who earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in the drug-themed drama Maria Full Of Grace, has joined the cast of the drug biopic The Godmother.

Starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, the film is the true-tale biopic about Colombian cocaine queenpin Griselda Blanco. The film stirred media interest after it was announced that Zeta-Jones was cast in the lead role.

Moreno earned an Academy Award nod for playing a drug mule in Maria Full Of Grace and recently hit the small screen in Red Band Society. She’ll next appear in a recurring role on TNT’s Falling Skies.

In addition to Moreno, the film will also star Oscar Jaeneda, who recently appeared in the film Cantinflas, as well as Jon Bernthal (Fury) and Mehdi Dehbi (A Most Wanted Man).

The Godmother is set to begin filming next spring. Eva Sørhaug is directing from a screenplay by Frank Baldwin.

Sodi’s “Senorita Polvora” to Air in 42 Territories Throughout Latin America

Camila Sodi’s latest television project is coming to the Americas…

Turner Broadcasting System Latin America has picked up the exclusive, first-run subscription television rights to the original series Señorita Pólvora, starring the 28-year-old Mexican singer, actress and model.

The Spanish-language drama is based on a real-life story about a beauty queen who falls for a Mafia hitman.

Señorita Pólvora, which also stars Iván Sánchez, José María de Tavira and Saúl Lisazo, will premiere on TNT in early 2015.

Following its TNT debut, the telenovela will be available for subscribers on the streaming site Claro video, a Netfix rival owned by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, the world’s richest man.

Señorita Pólvora is the first of several teleseries that Sony Pictures Television and Televisa are co-producing under a multiyear joint venture.

The distribution deals allow Señorita Pólvora to reach audiences in 42 territories throughout Latin America.

Señorita Pólvora is a great acquisition for us as it is consistent with our strategy to incorporate local content on channels to further engage Latin American viewers,” said Angel Zambrano, vice president of acquisitions and syndication at Turner Broadcasting System Latin America.

In the U.S., the series will air on the Univision network UniMas.

Moreno Lands Recurring Role on TNT’s “Falling Skies”

The (falling) sky’s the limit for Catalina Sandino Moreno.

The 33-year-old Colombian actress, who earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in Maria Full Of Grace, has been cast in a heavily recurring role on the fifth and final season of TNT’s alien invasion drama Falling Skies.

Moreno will play Isabella, a leftist-leaning academic prior to the invasion. Now on the run and seeking sanctuary, she’s a realist and canny survivor who poses as a nurse in order to win John’s (portrayed by Colin Cunningham) approval and trust.

Moreno currently recurs on Fox’s Red Band Society. Her other television credits include FX’s The Bridge.

On the film side, she’ll next be seen in the upcoming Oscar Isaac-starrer A Most Violent Year and Incarnate.

Sandoval Upped to Series Regular on NBC’s “Bad Judge”

Expect more bad judgment from Miguel Sandoval.

The 62-year-old Latino actor has been upped to series regular on NBC’s single-camera comedy Bad Judge.

The seriescenters on a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman (portrayed by Kate Walsh) whose life on the edge is constantly in balance as she also happens to be a judge in the criminal court system.

Sandoval, who guest starred in the pilot, plays Judge Connors, her boss on the San Bernardino County bench, who gives her extra work because he believes in her as a judge.

Sandoval previously starred in the NBC/CBS series Medium, and has appeared on TNT’s Dallas, HBO’s Entourage and TNT’s The Closer.

Bautista to Star in Netflix’s Sci-Fi Drama “Sense8”

Ness Bautista is preparing for a sense8-ational role.

The Latino actor has landed a recurring role on Sense8, Netflix‘s 10-episode sci-fi drama series from Lana and Andy Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski, which has been called as “a gripping global tale of minds linked and souls hunted” that incorporates the Wachowskis’ storytelling style.

“The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally,” Straczynski told Deadline.com last month. “They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”

There’s no word on Bautista’s character in the series, which also stars Alfonso Herrera, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen, Freema Agyeman, Tena Desae, Doona Bae, Max Riemelt,  Erendira Ibarra, Jamie Clayton and Miguel Silvestre.

He currently recurs on TNT’s The Last Ship and previously starred on The Shield, Beauty and the Beast and Prime Suspect.

Hernandez to Star Opposite Benicio del Toro in Border Drama “Sicario”

Maximiliano Hernandez is making a run for the border.

The 41-year-old Latino actor has been cast in director Denis Villeneuve’s border film Sicario.

Starring Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin, the drama centers on a female FBI agent assigned to work with two Delta Force operators to take down a Mexican cartel boss.

Hernandez, who has starred as Jasper Sitwell in the blockbuster films Thor, Avengers, and Captain America: Winter Soldier on television in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will play Silvio, a hard-drinking drug smuggling cop in Mexico.

He currently stars on the new TNT drama series The Last Ship and recently appeared in Amazon’s pilot Hand of God, directed by Marc Forster.
