Chayanne is switching sounds…
The 49-year-old Puerto Rican Latin pop singer/songwriter has joined voices with rising urban singer Ozuna for the release of the reggaeton track “Choka Choka” music video, which was filmed in Miami.
The song is Chayanne’s second official single of his forthcoming album, due next year.
It’s the first time Chayanne and Ozuna have collaborated on a fully reggaeton song. “Choka Choka” follows “Qué Me Has Hecho” (with Wisin), which peaked No. 10 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart (dated September 2).
Chayanne is known for his Latin-pop classics like “Tiempo de Vals,” “Y Tú Te Vas,” and “Provócame.” Now the Puerto Rican singer has evolved his style.
“I’m still married to my style, my lyrics with romanticism and what I’ve been doing for a long time,” says Chayanne in an interview with Billboard. “Well, finally I made that featuring that for a long time I was being asked for many years. Since Yandel accompanied me in ‘Humanos a Marte,’ I was totally changed to urban.”
