Josh Segarra Joins Cast of Netflix’s Dark Comedy Series “Sirens”

Josh Segarra can’t resist the siren call…

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican actor has joined the cast of Netflix’s dark comedy series Sirens.

Josh SegarraSegarra is among a roster of new cast additions that includes Felix Solis, Trevor Salter, Britne Oldford, Lauren Weedman, Jenn Lyon, Erin Neufer and Emily Borromeo.

They join the previously announced cast of Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Glenn Howerton and Kevin Bacon.

Production is currently underway in New York.

From creator and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler and based on her play Elemeno Pea, Sirens follows Devon (Fahy), who thinks her sister Simone (Alcock) has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. When Devon tracks her sister down to say WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. The show is told throughout one explosive weekend at The Kells’ lavish beach estate.

Segarra plays Raymond, the proud manager of a restaurant franchise in Buffalo. He’s been Devon’s long-time, on-and-off, toxic boyfriend.

Solis plays Jose, who plays the role of a humble gardener but he’s actually the overall manager of The Cliff House, the head of security, the puppet master of the estate’s vast surveillance system and Peter Kell’s right-hand man.

Metzler executive produces for Quiet Coyote under her deal with Netflix.

Nicole Kassell is the executive producer and director.

Segarra’s previous credits include Abbott Elementary, Scream 6, The Other TwoAJ and the QueenOrange Is the New Black and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Solis’ previous credits include New York UndercoverNYPD BlueThird Watch and the film Empire.

Eddie Cibrian to Appear on Season 3 of ABC’s “Home Economics”

The 49-year-old Cuban American actor has joined the cast of ABC’s Home Economics in a recurring guest star role for Season 3.

Eddie CibrianCibrian will portray the character of Santiago, an extremely good-looking contractor who starts working with Marina (Karla Souza).

Home Economics, inspired by series co-creator Michael Colton’s real-life experiences, documents the uncomfortable yet heartwarming relationships of three siblings in very different situations: one in the ultra-rich, one in the middle class, and one scraping by.

The series stars Topher Grace, Caitlin McGee, Jimmy Tatro, Souza, Sasheer Zamata, Shiloh Bearman, Jordyn Curet, Chloe Jo Rountree and JeCobi Swain.

The comedy series currently airs on Wednesday nights at 9:30 pm.

Home Economics is produced by Lionsgate and ABC Signature.

Cibrian most recently starred in Netflix’s Country Comfort where he portrayed the character of Beau.

Prior to that, he was a lead in ABC’s Take Two and Fox’s Rosewood.

His other television credits include CBS’ CSI: Miami, ABC’s Ugly Betty and NBC’s Third Watch.

Eddie Cibrian may soon make his return to the Peacock Network

The 41-year-old Cuban American actor, who rose to acclaim on NBC’s crime drama series Third Watch for five seasons, has been cast as one of the male leads in the network’s multi-camera comedy pilot starring Parenthood alumna Monica Potter.

The project, from creators Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer, Warner Bros. Television and Ellen DeGeneres’ studio-based A Very Good Production, is loosely based on Potter’s life and stars the actress as Bridget, a woman who juggles her busy family life as well as her three ex-husbands, which proves to be difficult when she starts dating again.

Cibrian will portray Jason, Bridget’s first ex-husband, a slick professional gambler.

Cibrian’s other credits include Sunset Beach, Invasion and CSI: Miami.

Paladin Pictures Acquires the Psychological Thriller “After,” Starring Gonzalez

Mandy Gonzalez’s latest project will be released in August…

Paladin Pictures has acquired the distribution rights to the psychological thriller After, which stars the half-Mexican American actress/singer and Broadway star.

From first-time director Pieter Gaspersz, the film tells the tale of a middle class family in upstate New York centered around cheerful but fragile matriarch Nora, whose family stone-cutting business is slowly failing and whose delicate balance is threatened by a secret that could change everyone’s lives forever.

Gonzalez stars as Molly Valentino in the film, which was written by Sabrina Gennarino.

After will be released on August 8 in partnership with Accretion Films.

The film also co-stars John Doman, Pablo Schreiber, Adam Scarimbolo, Diane Neal, Darrin Dewitt Henson, Bruno Gunn and Gennarino.

Gonzalez, who starred in the Broadway musical Wicked, has also appeared in Across the Universe (directed by Julie Taymor), In God’s Hands, The Good Wife, Third Watch and  Guiding Light.

Nolasco to Star in ABC’s Drama Project “American Crime”

Crime is about to pay for Elvis Nolasco

The Dominican actor has been cast alongside Caitlin Gerard in the ABC drama American Crime, which hails from 12 Years of Slave writer John Ridley.

The project centers on a racially charged murder and the subsequent trial, which are examined through the personal lives of the players involved.

Nolasco and Gerard will portray an interracial couple, both drug addicts.

Nolasco’s credits include guest appearances on Third Watch, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and the television mini-series Miracle’s Boys.

He most recently worked on Spike Lee’s film Oldboy, portraying the character of Cortez.

Cinemax to Premiere Season 2 of Ruivivar’s “Banshee” in January

It’s official! Anthony Ruivivar is headed back to television early next year…

Cinemax has scheduled the start of the 10-episode second season of the pay cable network’s drama Bashee, which stars the 42-year-old part-Spanish American actor, for Friday, January 10 at 10:00 pm.

The series stars Antony Starr (Rush) as Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, PA, where he continues his criminal activities, even as he’s being hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier.

Banshee was renewed just three weeks into its freshman season. Its Season 1 finale drew 455,000 viewers during its initial airing and 655,000 during repeats – the largest audience ever for a Cinemax original series finale.

Along with Ruivivar and Starr, the list of cast regulars includes Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, Rus Blackwell and Ryann Shane, Ben Cross.

The series, which earneda Special Visual Effects Emmy Award, is executive produced by Alan Ball, Peter Macdissi, Jonathan Tropper, David Schickler and Greg Yaitanes.

Ruivivar is best known for his portrayal of FDNY paramedic Carlos Nieto on NBC’s Third Watch, as well as other law enforcement roles in different TV series.

Pérez Cast in Alfred Molina’s Drama “Love is Strange”

The 44-year-old Dominican actor has been cast in Ira SachsLove Is Strange, which is currently filming in New York City.

Perez will portray Roberto, the partner to Cheyenne Jackson’s character, in the drama about an older gay couple (Alfred Molina and John Lithgow) forced to live separately with friends and family shortly after they marry.

Love is Strange also stars Tracy Letts and Marisa Tomei.

Perez, best known for his roles on television Third Watch and the film Washington Heights, will be starring in 2014′s Crosstown and will appear in the upcoming season of Showtime’s Homeland.

LaRue to Guest-Star on CBS’ “Criminal Minds”

Eva LaRue is about to get downright criminal

The 46-year-old part-Puerto Rican actress will guest-star on CBS’ long-running police procedural Criminal Minds.

LaRue, who most recently portrayed lab rat-turned-investigator Natalia Boa Vista on CSI: Miami for seven seasons, will portray Agent Mays, according to TVLine.

LaRue tweeted the news to her followers this week, when she also posted a photo of her with series stars Shemar Moore and A.J. Cook. On her Instagram account; she noted she’d had a “great day” on set.

LaRue is best known for portraying Maria Santos on ABC’s All My Children.

Her other television credits include Soul Food and Third Watch.

Criminal Minds‘ ninth season premieres on September 25 at 9:00 pm.

Ruivivar Lands Recurring Role on TNT’s “Southland”

The 42-year-old part-Spanish actor has landed a major recurring role on the fifth season of TNT’s cop drama series Southland.

Ruivivar – best known for his role as a paramedic in NBC’s long-running series Third Watch – has been cast in a season-long arc as Lucero, a veteran Los Angeles police officer and a Mexican American born and raised in East Los Angeles.

Ruivivar’s recent television credits include appearances on Burn Notice, American Horror Story, Criminal Minds and Lie to Me.

Consuelos May Star in Comedy Pilot for ABC

Mark Consuelos may soon be moving on up to Manhattan’s Upper West Side…

ABC is thisclose to closing on a script deal for a comedy that will star the 41-year-old half-Mexican actor and former All My Children star.

Executive produced by Consuelos and his wife, Live With Kelly & Michael host Kelly Ripa, the half-hour project will be written by Peter Murrieta.

Produced by ABC Studios, the comedy centers on a blue-collar handyman from Queens (Consuelos) who enters the wealthy world of New York City’s Upper West Side, where he and his son become part of a non-traditional family unit.

This marks the second time ABC and ABC Studios are developing a comedy starring Consuelos. Two years ago, the network bought Port Love, a workplace comedy written by Jeffrey Hodes and Nastaran Dibai.

Consuelos, who rose to acclaim as the hunky Mateo Santos on All My Children, is currently recurring on FX’s American Horror Story: Asylum.  He’s previously guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Third Watch and Friends.

Meanwhile, this is the second broadcast project this season for Murrieta, who also has a semi-autobiographical multi-generational family show currently set up at NBC. He served as showrunner on the first three seasons of the Disney Channel’s Emmy-winning Wizards Of Waverly Place.
