Lovato Records “Let It Go” for Disney’s “Frozen” Soundtrack

Demi Lovato is returning to her Disney roots…

The 21-year-old part-Mexican American singer/actress and former Disney Channel star has released “Let It Go,” a single appearing on the soundtrack to Disney’s upcoming animated film Frozen.

“Let It Go,” which will be performed in the film by voice actress/Broadway vet Idina Menzel, gets a pop-rock makeover befitting of Lovato’s oeuvre, with guitar flourishes, orchestral punches and lyrics about triumphantly moving on.

“Up here in the cold thin air, I finally can breathe/I know I left a life behind, but I’m too relieved to grieve,” Lovato sings on the track.

The Frozen soundtrack will arrive in stores on November 25, right before the animated film is released on November 27.

Earlier this year, the X Factor judge contributed the track “Heart By Heart” to the soundtrack for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Lovato is also preparing to kick off her Neon Lights tour next February, with Fifth Harmony, Cher Lloyd and Little Mix as support.

ABC Orders Additional Scripts of Orrantia’s Comedy Series “The Goldbergs”

It appears you’ll be seeing more of Hayley Orrantia on television this season…

ABC has ordered three additional scripts of its freshman comedy series The Goldbergs, which stars the 19-year-old actress and singer-songwriter, who appeared as a contestant on the first season of Fox’s The X Factor.

The Goldbergs

Orrantia portrays Erica Goldberg on the series, which is set in the 1980s. It centers on geeky 11-year old Adam Goldberg and his “wonder years” as he faces them armed with a video camera to capture all the crazy in his family.

It’s Orrantia’s first television series, although she’s previously appeared in national commercials for Sprint and Febreze.

McCreery Leads the Latweeno Pack of Billboard.com’s “21 Under 21” Honorees

He may only be a minor… But Scotty McCreery is a major player in the music industry…

The 19-year-old part-Puerto Rican country singer and former American Idol champion has been named to Billboard.com’s 2013 list of 21 Under 21, a ranking of music’s most powerful minors.

Billboard.com 2013 21 Under 21

Now that Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have turned 21, McCreery now ranks as the top Latweeno on the list, coming in at No. 8.

McCreery, who ranked at No. 4 last year, will be celebrating his 20th birthday early next month somewhat differently than most people his age. Onlysix days after he exits his teens, McCreery will release See You Tonight, his sophomore follow-up to his platinum 2011 debut album Clear As Day.

Scotty McCreery

McCreery continues his hot streak in 2013. The first single and title track from the new disc continues moving up the singles chart, and he also headlined his first tour this year. That, along with an endorsement deal with fried chicken chain Bojangles, makes him a shoe-in for this year’s list.

But McCreery isn’t the only Latino on the list…

Miguelito

Puerto Rican singer Miguelito comes in at No. 14 on the 21 Under 21 list. At 14 years old, he already boasts a Latin Grammy and a multi-million dollar branding business that includes “Miguelito” vitamins, clothing line, videogame, summer camp, party goods and a themed cruise.

According to his manager dad Wascar Valenzuela, Miguelito-branded products have sold more than $70 million to date.

With a newly minted representation deal with CAA and a new record deal with BlastMusic, Miguelito is poised to crossover early next year with new album, Here To Stay.

“People tell me I’m a 21 or 30-year-old mind inside a 14-year-old body,” says the reggaetón star.

Meanwhile, Fifth Harmony, with 20-year-old Allyson Brooke Hernandez, 17-year-old Lauren Jauregui and 16-year-old Camila Cabello come in at No. 21 on the list.

Formed by Simon Cowell on last year’s edition of The X Factor, Fifth Harmony’s brief career so far is on the fast track for success.

Their triumphant debut single “Miss Movin’ On,” produced by the Suspex (the duo behind Lovato’s “Heart Attack“), became the first track from an American The X Factor alumni to break Billboard’s Hot 100, peaking at No. 76.

The song samples a debut EP expected on October 22 via Epic Records/Syco Music.

In the meantime, the quintet is on tour with Cher Lloyd and was recently featured in Disney‘s “Next Big Thing” series.

Correy Perform’s Coca-Cola’s 2014 FIFA World Cup Anthem

It appears that the world is David Correy’s…

The 26-year-old Brazilian American singer and former The X Factor contestant has been chosen to record Coca-Cola‘s global 2014 FIFA World Cup anthem.

David Correy

Correy performs the song, entitled “The World is Ours,” with the Brazilian percussion troupe Monobloco.

The soccer-themed track features a pumped up pop melody tethered by the Brazilian roots rhythms commonly identified with carnival, as well as inspirational lyrics readymade for stadium sing-alongs.

“The World is Ours” will be the theme of the brand’s international “World’s Cup” campaign. The tournament year anthem was written by song-writing team Rock Mafia (Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez) and produced by Brazilian-born Mario Caldato Jr., who has worked with the Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, and Brazilian artists including Seu Jorge and Bebel Gilberto.

“We always try to bring to light our campaign ideas through music and in 2014 we’re talking about the World Cup and bringing the world together,” says Joe Belliotti, Director of Global Entertainment Marketing at Coca-Cola. “That is what the song was meant to do from a lyric perspective. From a music perspective, we wanted the music to stay very authentic to Brazil, but in an original way that would resonate with an audience internationally…we’re taking that rhythm of Brazil and pairing it with just a great mainstream song.”

Correy, best known as a 2012 The X Factor finalist who re-connected with his Brazilian birth mother after appearing on the reality show, will debut the song live tomorrow on Corcovado Mountain above Rio de Janeiro.

“It’s such a feel-good song,” says Correy, whose tattoos include one on his back of a Brazilian flag covering a hand making the metal horns sign, which is spotlighted on the single’s cover photo. He opens the 2:38 minute track with a call to “kick it to the world.”

“I think with the rhythms, the song, the message, it’s going to touch a lot of people,” he says.

Tomorrow’s performance of the song will mark the opening of the Coke-sponsored World Cup Trophy tour, which takes the  tournament trophy to 88 countries.

Correy and Monobloco will perform the anthem at select stops on the tour, where fans’ voices will be recorded and added to future mixes. Artists from different countries will also collaborate with Correy on recordings of the song in different languages. A Portuguese version called “Tu Mundo,” with vocals by Brazilian singer Gaby Amarantos was released in June in Brazil. That song did not include Correy’s vocals.

“The World is Ours” will be immediately available for streaming on Coca-Cola partner Spotify, and will later be sold widely as a download at digital outlets. The song will be featured in Coke’s World Cup-themed TV ads and mobile campaigns.

“The World of Ours” is the first major anthem to be unveiled for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, which opens in Sao Paulo on June 12. FIFA has yet to announce the official World Cup anthem.

Gomez Looking to Create a Rave Environment for Her First World Tour

Selena Gomez is planning to have concertgoers ravin’ to go…

The 21-year-old half-Mexican American actress, who could earn the first No. 1 album of her career on the Billboard 200 charts this week, wants fans to be utterly exhausted by the time she sings her final not on her  Stars Dance World Tour.

Selena Gomez

“The tour is going to be really fun,” Gomez told MTV News. “I also want them to be exhausted when they leave my shows, because I want it to be like a giant rave.”

Gomez, who is nominated for Best Pop Video at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, has been busy promoting her new album, Stars Dance. In between, she has been hard at work, making the vision of her first world tour come to life.

“I never had it be so much like a production for me. I wanted it to feel like a show, so it was always fluid with music, so we’re having a really fun time experimenting with different beats and sounds and remixing some of my old songs, so I think they are going to be really excited,” shared Gomez. “I think they are going to have a great time, and I think they are going to be surprised too. I’ve been dancing so much, so I’m stoked it will be good.”

When the former Disney Channel star isn’t dancing up a storm, you’ll most likely find her backstage indulging on pickles and ramen, which she revealed are her must-haves while on tour, or checking out her opening act, former The X Factor contestants Emblem3.

“They are great,” Gomez said of Emblem3. “Their music is fun, and I want my shows to be fun, and they are all really fun too, so that helps. We are just going to have fun together.”

The Stars Dance World Tour kicks off August 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

New Teaser Trailer Released for Bruno Mars’ “Rio 2”

He may hail from Hawaii, but Bruno Mars will be heading to a different paradise locale in the near future…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer will be making his big screen debut, voicing a character in the highly anticipated sequel to the hit animated film Rio.

Rio 2

Rio 2, which saw its new teaser trailer released on the Yahoo! Movies site recently, centers on Blu, Jewel and their three kids living the perfect domesticated life in the magical city of Rio de Janeiro. When Jewel decides the kids need to learn to live like real birds, she insists the family venture into the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in with his new neighbors, he worries he may lose Jewel and the kids to the call of the wild.

The new teaser clip isn’t so plot-revealing as it is entertaining, featuring a performance by a cute capybara named Clara. The little creature is featured delivering a rendition of “Memory” from the 1981 musical Cats in front of other characters until a surprise predator shows up.

The sequel is still supported by Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann and Jamie Foxx among others.

Along with Mars, newcomers in the cast ensemble include The X Factor season one finalist Rachel Crow, Andy Garcia and Kristin Chenoweth.

Original music by Janelle Monae, one of the voice cast members, will be featured in the film from director Carlos Saldanha.

Rio 2 is set for release on April 14, 2014 in the United States.
