Andrea Salazar to Compete on Season 2 of Amazon’s “Making The Cut”

Making The Cut, hosted by Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum, will return to Amazon for season two July 16, with the Colombian fashion designer among the 10 designers vying for the top prize.

Amazon also revealed that Shiona Turini and Prabal Gurung will guest judge season two looks, joining judges Jeremy Scott and supermodel Winnie Harlow.

Salazar, from Medellín, Colombia, is the founder of the world-renowned brand, SETA. Born and raised in Colombia, Andrea moved to England at 17, where she studied the English language and developed her passion for fashion.

She then moved to Brazil, where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in International Business. At 22, she moved back to Colombia, where she founded the fashion brand SETA with her sister Eliana.

Later, Andrea moved to Miami to expand her booming business. SETA is now an international brand that has participated in New York and Paris Fashion Weeks and has been featured in Vogue, Elle magazine and The Today Show.

Andrea is known for creating statement pieces, inspired by the inner power every woman has, and the uniqueness, versatility and sophistication of her style is what makes her one of the most influential designers in Latin America.

Making the Cut is filmed in Los Angeles. It premiered on Amazon in March 2020. Naomi Campbell, Nicole Richie, Joseph Altuzarra, Carine Roitfeld and Chiara Ferragni were among last season’s judges.

Morales Appears in “Today: The Musical” on NBC’s “The Today Show ”

The 42-year-old Brazilian/Puerto Rican broadcast journalist, The Today Show ’s news anchor, lent her voice to the Today: The Musical, which aired this week.

The 14-minute original production, starring the morning show’s cast and crew, has been billed as a tongue-in-cheek look behind the scenes of Studio 1A, where Today anchors and crew members sing and dance to original numbers written by Kathie Lee Gifford.

Saldaña to Announce Golden Globe Nominations This Week

It’ll be an early start for Zoë Saldaña

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American actress will announce the nominations for the 71st annual Golden Globes on Thursday morning, December 12, 2013 at approximately 5:38 am PST/8:38 am (EST).

Taking place at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton, the announcement will air live on NBC’s The Today Show.

Zoë Saldaña will be joined by Aziz Ansari, Olivia Wilde and Miss Golden Globe Sosie Bacon, as well as Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Theo Kingma.

In all, nominations will be announced in 25 categories in television and film.

The Golden Globes, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the second year in a row, will air on Sunday, January 13, 2014, live coast-to-coast on NBC with the pre-show from 4:00-5:00 pm (PST)/7:00-8:00 pm (EST), and main telecast from 5:00-8:00 pm (PST)/8:00-11:00 pm (EST) from the Beverly Hilton.

The awards show will be seen in more than 160 countries and is produced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Lovato’s One-Hour Documentary Airing Tuesday

Demi Lovato is opening up about her trials and tribulations in a one-hour MTV documentary and follow-up live appearance on the cable network.

The 19-year-old part-Mexican American actress/singer’s special Demi Lovato: Stay Strong, which follows the Unbroken singer through her recovery as she hits the road again after canceling her tour with the Jonas Brothers in 2010 and seeking treatment for “emotional and physical issues.” Viewers will also watch her spend Thanksgiving 2011 with her family and revisit the Dallas treatment center.

Following the special, Lovato will make a live appearance in the network’s New York City Time Square studio to share her thoughts on the one-hour documentary.

Hosted by MTV News correspondent Suchin Pak, Lovato will do a live Q&A, share some deleted scenes from the documentary, and give viewers a first look at her appearance on MTV’s candid camera prank series, Punk’d.

The network encourages fans to take part in the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #staystrong and by submitting questions to the @MTVNews and @MTV Twitter accounts with the hashtag #AskDemi.
