Mark Menchaca to Star Opposite Lena Headey in Revenge Thriller Short “Long Pork”

Mark Menchaca is getting revenge…

The 48-year-old half-Mexican American actor and his actress-wife Lena Headey will star in the revenge thriller short Long Pork.

Mark MenchacaThe project will be helmed by up-and-comer Iris Dukatt, who also wrote the screenplay.

Produced by Madhouse Films, the rising female led-production company founded by Katherine Romans and Charlie Sarah Traisman, as well as Elizabeth Valenti, the film takes place in a future post-Roe America where all reproductive rights have been banned.

Headey plays Lily Williams, master chef at the renowned Foal’s Steakhouse, who lost her only daughter to forced birth under the federal ban. When Lily learns that Philip Anderson (Menchaca), the judge responsible for denying her daughter’s abortion request, is coming to dine at Foal’s, she enlists her team of cooks to exact bloody revenge, setting the stage for revolution.

Also starring in the short, intended as a proof of concept for a feature, include Catherine Curtin, Lorna Courtney, Zoe Cipres and T.L. Thompson.

Menchaca’s previous credits include Ozark, The SinnerManifest and The Outsider.

Marc Menchaca to Star in Gareth Edwards’ New Film “True Love”

The 46-year-old Mexican American actor has joined the cast of Gareth Edwards’ New Regency film True Love, which has entered production in Thailand.

Marc MenchacaMenchaca, who has starred in Ozark and The Outsider, will star alongside John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong and Sturgill Simpson in the film.

The latest film written and directed by Edwards is billed as an original sci-fi story set in the near future. Specifics as to its plot are currently undisclosed.

Edwards is producing the film with his Rogue One collaborator Kiri Hart and New Regency, which has provided the film’s financing.

Menchaca is perhaps best known for his scene-stealing turns as Jack Hoskins in HBO’s hit series The Outsider, and as Russ Langmore in the Emmy-winning Netflix drama series Ozark.

The actor most recently wrapped production on the Netflix feature No One Gets Out Alive, and the action-thriller Gypsy Moon alongside Lena Headey and Sam Worthington.

He made a recent appearance on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and will soon be featured in its upcoming series The White House Plumbers, as well as an upcoming episode of Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan. Diany Rodriguez to Appear on Season Nine of NBC’s “The Blacklist”

Diany Rodriguez is makin’ the (Black)list…

The Latina actress has joined the cast of NBC’s long-running drama The Blacklist for its upcoming ninth season of the series.

Rodriguez, who has appeared on Law & Order: Organized Crime, will appear in a heavily recurring role.

Rodriguez will play Weecha Xiu. With a tough physical presence and a hardened demeanor, Weecha is more than capable of defending herself against anyone who might threaten her or her associates.

The Blacklist,
 starring James Spader, Diego Klattenhoff and Amir Arison, will jump forward two years in its season 9 return airing on October 21 (8/7c) on NBC.

In The Blacklist, in the two years following the death of Elizabeth Keen, Raymond Reddington (Spader) and the members of the FBI Task Force have disbanded – their lives now changed in unexpected ways and with Reddington’s whereabouts unknown. Finding themselves each at a crossroads, a common purpose compels them to renew their original mission: to take down dangerous, vicious and eccentric Blacklisters.

Rodriguez is best known for her role as A.D.A. Maria Delgado on NBC’s Law & Order: Organized Crime. She will soon be seen opposite Eugenio Debrez in Hulu’s upcoming rom-com The Valet

Cristina Rodlo to Star in the Horror Film “No One Gets Out Alive”

Cristina Rodlo isn’t gettin’ out alive…

The 30-year-old Mexican actress has been cast opposite Marc Menchaca in the film adaptation of Adam Nevill’s horror novel No One Gets Out Alive.

The project hails from Netflix and Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish’s Imaginarium Productions.

Rodlo, who starred in Miss Bala, and Menchaca, who appeared in The Outsider, have been set as leads in the story of an immigrant in search of the American Dream who, after being forced to take a room in a boarding house, finds herself in a nightmare she can’t escape.

Jon Croker and Fernanda Coppel penned the script and Santiago Menghini has been sent to helm, his directing debut.

Filming is scheduled to begin this month in Bucharest, Romania.

Rodlo’s previous credits include the television series’ 68 Whiskey, El Vato and Too Old to Die Young.

Menchaca’s previous credits includethe television series’ Ozark, The Sinner and Manifest.

Leto to Star in the Action Thriller “The Outsider”

The 44-year-old part-Spanish American actor/rock star will star in the action thriller The Outsider for director Martin Zandvliet.

Written by Andrew Baldwin, the project set in post-World War II Japan is aiming to go before the cameras this fall.

The Outsider centers on an imprisoned American soldier (Leto) who is released with the help of his yakuza cellmate. Now free, he sets out to earn their respect and repay his debt while navigating the dangerous criminal underworld.

The Outsider will mark Zandvliet’s English-language debut following the success of his film Land of Mine, which was lauded at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and acquired by Sony Pictures as a potential awards film this year.

For Leto, this will be only the second film he’s worked on since his Oscar-winning turn in 2013’s Dallas Buyers Club.

He’ll next be seen as the Joker in Suicide Squad, which Warner Bros. will release on August 5.
