CBS All Access Releases Teaser Trailer for Henry Zaga’s New Stephen King Series “The Stand”

CBS All Access has released the first trailer for its limited series The Stand, starring the 27-year-old Brazilian actor.

The series is the latest adaptation of a beloved Stephen King novel.

The star-studded television take on King’s 1978 book centers on the author’s apocalyptic vision for a world ruined by a super plague and caught in the middle of the fight between good and evil.

The 30-second teaser trailer offers a taste of the adaptation with Whoopi Goldberg as Abigail Freemantle, followed by flashes the characters’ haunting journey.

In addition to Goldberg and Zaga, who portrays Nick Andros, the series also  stars James Marsen, Jovan Adepo, Amber Heard and Daniel Sunjata.

The Stand is written by Josh Boone and Ben Cavell. It’s produced by CBS Television Studios and will premiere on CBS All Access on December 17.

Zaga’s previous television credits include 13 Reasons Why, Trinkets, Teen Wolf, and Looking for Alaska.

Alice Braga & “The New Mutants” Cast to Take Part in Comic-Con@Home Panel

Alice Braga is readying for a Mutant-size appearance… 

The 37-year-old Brazilian actress will take part in a Comic-Con@Home panel dedicated to her superhero horror film from Marvel EntertainmentThe New Mutants at 2:00 pm Pacific (PDT).

The film, which stars Braga as Cecilia Reyes, will be released on August 28 after several date changes and delays since the film’s first trailer was released at CinemaCon in 2017, before the  Fox/Disney merger. 

Braga’s Comic-Con@Home panel will take place on Thursday, July 23.

In addition to Braga, the ComicCon@Home panel will feature writer/director Josh Boone, as well as fellow stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-JoyCharlie HeatonBlu Hunt and Henry Zaga.

The New Mutants is set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

In addition, 20th Century Studios and Marvel released a new clip for the film.

Henry Zaga to Star in Hulu’s Limited Series “Looking for Alaska”

Henry Zaga is ready for a little northern exposure…

The 26-year-old Brazilian actor has landed a recurring role opposite Charlie Plummer and Kristine Froseth in Looking for Alaska, Hulu’s eight-episode limited series based on John Green’s novel.

Looking for Alaska is told through the eyes of teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Plummer), as he enrolls in boarding school to try to gain a deeper perspective on life. He falls in love with Alaska Young (Froseth), and finds a group of loyal friends. But after an unexpected tragedy, Miles and his close friends must attempt to uncover the truth and make sense of what they’ve been through.

The series hails from Paramount Television and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire.

Zaga will portray Jake, Alaska’s impossibly handsome, floppy-haired, college-aged boyfriend, funny and adorable.

Schwartz wrote the pilot and will serve as executive producer and showrunner. 

Zaga can next be seen in the upcoming Fox film The New Mutants, which will be released August 2. He previously starred in the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.

First Trailer Released for Alice Braga’s X-Men Spinoff, “The New Mutants”

X marks the spot for Alice Braga

20th Century Fox has released a first-look at the upcoming film, The New Mutants, starring the 34-year-old Brazilian actress.

“Do you know what mutants are?” asks the trailer, which features a dark hollow hospital setting and creepy figures protruding from the walls.

The Josh Boone-directed X-Men spinoff takes a more horror genre approach than the usual superhero action film.

“This is not a hospital. It’s a haunted house,” a patient exhorts in the trailer, aptly dropped on Friday the 13th.

Written by Boone and Knate Lee, the film will center on an angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball, Russian teen Magik, as well as an alien named Warlock.

In addition to Braga, the star of television series Queen of the South as the character Cecilia Reyes, the film also stars Game of Thrones Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga and Blu Hunt.

The film will open in theaters on April 13, 2018.
