Juanes Releases New Single “La Luz”

After a long absence, Juanes is finally bringing to light his latest recording…

The 41-year-old Colombian rockero has released the first single off his upcoming sixth solo studio album, which is due in 2014.

La Luz,” an uptempo track with Colombian rhythms, was written by the Latin Grammy-winning singer and produced by Steve Lillywhite (The Killers, U2).

Juanes recorded the track in Los Angeles with Emmanuel “Meme” del Real, of Mexican rock band Café Tacuba. A video, filmed in the historic resort city of Cartagena, will be released soon.

The as-yet untitled new album will be his first studio effort since 2010’s P.A.R.C.E. and first major release since the “La Camisa Negra” singer’s MTV Unplugged session last year, which topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Albums chart.

Mars to Perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards

Bruno Mars is bringing his sizzling stage presence to Europe…

The 28-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer has been added to the star-studded line-up of performers at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards.

It won’t be Mars’ first appearance at the annual awards show. He previously took the MTV EMAs’ stage in Belfast, Ireland in 2011.

For the upcoming show, Mars – nominated in two MTV EMA categories this year, including Best Male – will perform one of the tracks off his sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox.

Mars will join previously-announced performers like Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Kings of Leon, Icona Pop, Snoop Dogg, Afrojack, Imagine Dragons, The Killers and Katy Perry.

Set to air in the U.S. on November 10 live from the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, the event will be hosted by LMFAO‘s Redfoo. Singer Ariana Grande will serve as a backstage host.

Pitbull to Perform at the MTV European Music Awards

Pitbull will bring global warming music to this year’s MTV European Music Awards show in Frankfurt next month.

The 31-year-old Cuban American rap superstar, who will be releasing his latest album Global Warming in November, has signed on to perform along three other high-profile late additions to the lineup, including Alicia Keys, The Killers and YouTube sensation PSY.

The lineup for the night already includes previously announced acts Taylor Swift, Muse, No Doubt, Carly Rae Jepsen, fun. and Rita Ora.

Pitbull is nominated for two EMAs – one for best male performer and one for best song for “International Love” featuring Chris Brown.

No word on what music Pitbull will perform at the awards show, which will take place on Sunday, November 11 at the historic Festhalle Frankfurt arena.
