Cardi B & Bruno Mars to Perform “Finesse (Remix)” at This Year’s Grammy Awards Show

Cardi B is ready to make her Grammys debut…

The 25-year-old part-Dominican rapper will partner with Bruno Mars to bring their “Finesse (Remix)” to the Grammy stage when the 60th Annual awards come back to New York City on Sunday January 28.

Along with Mars and Cardi B, the Recording Academy revealed that 2018 Grammy nominees Luis Fonsi & Daddy YankeeKesha, and SZA will also join the roster.

In addition, Alessia Cara, Khalid and Logic will join voices for a performance, taking the stage with a group of suicide attempt and loss survivors in a special performance of “1-800-273-8255.”

Previously announced performers include Childish Gambino, Lady Gaga, Little Big Town, Patti LuPone, P!nk, and Ben Platt.

Mars, who is the third most nominated artist of the night after JAY Z and Kendrick Lamar, has earned six nominations including album of the year and best R&B album for 24K Magic as well as record of the year for “24K Magic” and song of the year for “That’s What I Like.”

Cardi B, who will make her Grammy debut this year, received two nods for “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” (best rap performance and best rap song).

Current three-time Grammy nominees Fonsi & Daddy Yankee are up for record of the year, song of the year, and best pop duo/group performance (“Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber) after winning big at the Latin Grammys back in November 2017.

The show will be hosted by award-winning television personality and performer James Corden and will be broadcasted live on CBS at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.

Bruno Mars Earns Six Grammy Award Nominations

Bruno Mars is experiencing some serious Grammy magic…

The 32-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter leads the pack of Latino Grammy nominees, having earned a whopping six nods for the 60th Grammy Awards, three of them in the top categories.

Mars, a five-time Grammy winner, received a Record of the Year nod for his hit single “24K Magic,” a Song of the Year nomination for his popular track “That’s What I Like,” and an Album of the Year nom for his critically acclaimed album 24K Magic.

Mars also earned nods for Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s crossover smash and global hit “Despacito” was well-received by The Recording Academy, after winning four trophies at the Latin Grammys earlier this month.

“Despacito” has earned three nominations, including two in the top categories. The track is nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, as well as Best Pop Performance by a Duo/Group.

In the process, Erika Ender, who co-wrote the track, becomes the first Latina ever to be nominated for Song of the Year, an award given to songwriters, in the history of the Grammys.

If “Despacito” wins either record of the year or song of the year, it will mark the first time a Spanish-language track has won in those general categories.

Fonsi and Daddy Yankee had each received only one Grammy nomination in their careers prior to this announcement.

Cardi B’s breakthrough year continues… The 25-year-old half-Dominican American hip hop artist picked up her first-ever Grammy nominations, earning nods in the  Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories for her smash hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” which made history when it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year.

Kehlani has earned her first-ever Grammy nod. The 22-year-old part-Spanish American singer-songwriter is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her acclaimed album You Should Be Here.

Other Latino nominees include Shakira, Juanes, La Santa Cecilia, Residente, Raul Midon and Natalia Lafourcade.

Jay-Z led all nominations, announced on Tuesday morning, with eight. He’s followed by Kendrick Lamar, whose “DAMN.” album scored seven.

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Andra Day announced the nominees in the four general field categories: best new artist, record of the year, song of the year, and album of the year on CBS This Morning.

The 60th Grammy Awards will air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden on January 28 on CBS.

Bruno Mars Snags Five Trophies at the Soul Train Awards

The 32-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer proved to be the big winner at this year’s Soul Train Awards, which celebrate the best in black music and entertainment.

Mars topped the list of winners with his five awards, including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Video of the Year for “24k Magic,” and Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like.”

Mars nearly doubled his career count in a single night, having previously won three Soul Train Awards from 2010-2015.

Meanwhile, Cardi B picked up her first-ever Soul Train Awards trophy. The half-Dominican American rapper won the Rhythm & Bars Award (Formerly Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year) for her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).”

Solange Knowles was the artist to beat at the star-studded award show with seven nominations and Mars trailing behind her with six. Solange took home just one, as Mars ruled the night with his five trophies.

Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” Album Surpasses the One-Million Sales Mark

The 31-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer has scored his third million-selling album, as 24K Magic motored past the million sales mark on the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending July 20, according to Nielsen Music.

The set, which was released last November, sold another 11,000 copies in the latest tracking frame, bringing its to-date sales sum to 1.008 million.

24K Magic follows Mars’ two earlier full-length studio efforts: his 2013 sophomore set, Unorthodox Jukebox (2.57 million sold), and his 2010 debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2.63 million).

Earlier in 2010, Mars issued the introductory digital EP It’s Better If You Don’t Understand, which has sold 27,000.

24K Magic reached 1 million sold after 34 weeks, while Unorthodox took 13 and Doo-Wops did it in 32 frames.

The new album continues to find success with its singles, as “Versace on the Floor” climbs 57-47 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated Aug. 5. It if hits the top 40, it will give Mars his third top 40 hit from 24K Magic and his 18th overall.

He previously claimed a pair of top 40 hits from the album with its eponymous lead single (peaking at No. 4) and “That’s What I Like” (No. 1).

After sharing a new version of the single featuring Gucci Mane last week, the pop star now has added Ludacris to the track as well.

Luda opens up the new version with some suave lines about lighting a fireplace and candles to set the mood before he gets sexy saying he’ll “make you melt like ice cream” and offering to “make love all night while we listen to the sounds of this instrumental.”

From there, Mars’ chorus kicks in and then is later followed by Gucci’s verse to close.

“That’s What I Like” is the highest charting single from Mars’ studio album 24K Magic, surpassing the single of the same name by peaking at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The single bests his previous peak on the chart with “24K Magic,” which reached No. 3 on the multi-metric chart, which blends streaming, sales and airplay data, back in December.

“That’s What I Like” is the second single from Mars’ latest album 24K Magic, which debuted at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Dec. 10), and spends an eighth week atop the list in the current chart frame.

It’s the singer’s first full-length release to sonically qualify for the tally, in turn making its tracks eligible for the R&B genre charts.

The latest single takes Airplay Gainer honors, rising 17 percent in audience across all monitored stations nationwide to 87 million impressions in the week ending March 19, according to Nielsen Music. The biggest contributor of airplay points came from pop station WHTZ (Z100) New York (2.7 million impressions).

Meanwhile, over on the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart, the tune hops 7-5 (up 17 percent in spins), reaching a new peak.

Streaming plays a big role in the song’s trip to No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, providing 44 percent of its chart points, from 26.9 million clicks logged in the U.S. in the week ending March 16. Of its total, 35 percent of plays came from YouTube, where the song’s official music video has amassed over 88 million global views since coming out on March 1. The growing streams, boosted in part by the video, keep the track at No. 1 on the R&B Streaming Songs chart for a third straight week.

Sales wise, the track sold 78,000 downloads in the most recent tracking week, concurrently spending a fifth consecutive week at No. 1 on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart, despite an 18 percent dip in sales.

Elsewhere, “That’s What I Like” rises 3-2 on the Billboard Hot 100 – a new peak for the track.

The clip featured Mars decked out in head-to-toe black, white and gold, as he dances in an empty room.

He dances along to the track as sketches relating to the lyrics are drawn around him. The simple video reflects the multi-Grammy winner’s natural charm.

“That’s What I Like” marks Mars’ 14th top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and rises to a new peak on the March 11-dated chart, climbing 7-4.

It’s the second top 10 track from Mars’ 24K Magic album, following the set’s title cut, which reached No. 4 in December. The song also gave Mars his first-ever No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart.

Mars will embark on a global headlining tour to support the album this summer. The 24K Magic World Tour kicks off July 15.

Mars gains by 63 percent in overall activity, with album sales (33 percent) and digital song sales (32 percent) contributing his greatest shares of Artist 100 points. On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Mars’ 24K Magic is the chart’s Greatest Gainer, jumping 7-2 with a 108 percent advance to 66,000 equivalent album units in the week ending February 16, according to Nielsen Music. “That’s What I Like,” the set’s second single, in addition to its Hot 100 vault, bounds 36-5 on Digital Song Sales (85,000 downloads sold, up 308 percent).

“That’s What I Like” also jumps 36-26 on Radio Songs (43 million, up 22 percent).
