Echevarria Signs Premium Two-Script Deal with Legendary Television

The Cuban American screenwriter and film producer has signed a premium two-script deal with Legendary Television.

No concepts have been set yet, but Deadline.com reports that Echevarria may explore titles from Legendary’s movie library.

The Primetime Emmy-nominated veteran showrunner has a background in leading big properties to the small screen, including Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Echevarria also served as the executive producer/showrunner on Fox’s Terra Nova and executive produced MTV’s Teen Wolf.

Additionally, he co-created USA Network’s The 4400 and worked on Medium and Castle.

Coll to Star in the CW’s Telenovela Adaptation “Jane the Virgin”

The 66-year-old Puerto Rican actress, who has portrayed the grandmother to Naya Rivera’s character on Glee and Katie Leclerc’s abuelita on Switched at Birth, has landed a series regular role on the CW’s drama pilot Jane the Virgin.

Based on the successful Venezuelan telenovela Juana la virgen, Jane the Virgin centers on Jane (portrayed by Filly Brown sensation Gina Rodriguez), a hardworking religious girl who, due to a series of outrageous events, is accidentally artificially inseminated.

Coll will portray Alba, Jane’s 60ish doting grandmother who teaches her at an early age the importance of staying pure until marriage. It’s later learned that Alba has actually been harboring a lifelong secret.

Early in her career, Coll, a former Miss Puerto Rico, starred in the films The Godfather, Part II and the Lean on Me.

Coll has appeared on television in shows like Teen Wolf, L.A. Law, Malibu Shores and Chicago Hope.

Posey’s “Teen Wolf” Returning with New Episodes in January

MTV has announced the return of Teen Wolf, starring the 21-year-old half-Mexican American actor, on January 6 for its winter feeding.

In addition, the network revealed a teaser video for the second half of the season at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

The third season of the supernatural series return to television on June 2, receiving series-high ratings. Teen Wolf’s viewership beat its old record rating by 10-percent.

Posey portrays Scott McCall, a teenager whose life changes after he becomes a werewolf.

Justice Releases Official Music Video for Her Debut Single “Gold”

After releasing teaser videos for her fans and photos from the set, the 20-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer/actress has released the official music video for her latest single “Gold.

In the three-minute clip, Justice is seen getting her flirt on with her on-screen love interest, Teen Wolf heartthrob Colton Haynes.

The video also shows the former star of Nickelodeon’s Victorious series dancing around in cute dresses, lying down on a car and blowing gold dust onto Haynes’ face, as she demands him to “take a chance on” her.

“If you want me like I want you/ Then man up and make your move/ I’m gold, gold,” croons Justice.

“Gold” is Justice’s official debut single, which premiered last month.

“I’m really excited to be releasing ‘Gold’, my first single,” Victoria said at that time. “It’s an upbeat song about a girl just trying to tell a guy, that she’d like to be more than just friends. I think it’s an empowering position for a girl to be taking because she’s putting it all out there. It’s a fun summer tune with a little sass.”

Justice will be performing the single on her tour with Big Time Rush this summer. The Summer Break Tour will have stops in more than 40 cities including New York, Chicago and Dallas.

In the new teaser for the upcoming third season of the network’s hit series, star Tyler Posey is first seen under water. But we soon learn that’s he’s actually being held down by a mysterious figure.

But we soon learn that the 21-year-old half-Mexican actor’s character Scott is actually drowning himself!

While we don’t see actual footage from the upcoming season, the trailer does hint that the old Scott is gone, and he’s now evolved into a man who has accepted himself as a werewolf.

As Scott is seen floating in the water, a tagline reading, “This might hurt,” appears.

The new season of Teen Wolf will premiere Monday, June 3 at 10/9c on MTV.

Following the release of a teaser clip, MTV has announced plans to debut the first half of its 24-episode third season of Teen Wolf – starring the 21-year-old half-Mexican actor – on Monday, June 3 at 10:00 PM ET.

Loosely based on the 1985 film about a high school student-turned-werewolf, the third season of Teen Wolf will feature new faces in Beacon Hills including Charlie and Max Carver as twin Alpha werewolves Ethan and Aiden; Gideon Emery as Deucalion, leader of the Alpha werewolves; Felisha Terrell as Kali, an Alpha werewolf; and Adelaide Kane as Cora, a tough 17-year-old who has ties to the Beacon Hills werewolf line.

Along with Posey, Crystal Reed, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin and Holland Roden return to the cast.

In its second season, Teen Wolf was the No. 1 cable series among persons 12-34 in its time period and averaged a 1.6 rating, a 7% increase over Season 1.

Can’t wait to see Tyler Posey in the third season of Teen Wolf next summer? Well, you’re in luck.

MTV has released some behind-the-scenes footage of the 21-year-old half-Mexican actor and some of his co-stars to tide fans over until the summer premiere.

“Welcome to Season 3 of Teen Wolf, first day of filming! Merry Christmas,” says Posey to open the video.

In the clip, Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin and more cast members are featured on the set during the first day of filming the new chapter. They are mostly seen shooting the scenes in a vet’s office and in the school, with Miss California 2007 Meagan Tandy showing off her skill with a stick in locker room.

New faces Charlie Carver and Max Carver, who portray twin brothers Ethan and Aiden, also make an appearance. And toward the end, Posey and O’Brien return to read some fan letters.

Teen Wolf will return with its third season in the summer 2013, although no exact premiere date has been announced.

Lovato to Perform at the MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show

Demi Lovato will be giving her heart a break on MTV next month…

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American singer, who is preparing for her big debut on Fox‘s The X Factor, has signed on to perform her hit “Give Your Heart a Break” at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show on Thursday, September 6.

“I’m so excited to perform at the VMA preshow. I can’t believe it!” said Lovato via her Twitter account.

The live broadcast of the pre-show to the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards is slated to start at 7:00 pm ET. The show will feature deejay Calvin Harris, who will entertain the crowd throughout the night.

Meanwhile, a red-carpet event will take place outside Los Angeles’ Staples Center. It’ll be covered for MTV Style by Teen Wolf star Holland Roden.

MTV NewsSway Calloway, Jim Cantiello, James Montgomery and Christina Garibaldi will also cover the red carpet, as well as the activities behind the scenes and backstage.

MTV Video Music Awards will begin at 8:00 pm for two hours with comedian Kevin Hart as host. Rihanna, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift, Pink and One Direction are set to perform.

Lovato Claims Two More Teen Choice Awards

There’s no denying that Demi Lovato is a teen sensation…

The 19-year-old part-Mexican singer, actress and recently appointed X Factor judge proved to be the brightest Hispanic star at Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.

Lovato—who presided over the festivities as co-host with Glee’s Kevin McHale—was the winningest Latina/o by picking up a pair of brand-new surfboards at the 14thannual awards show.

The former Disney Channel star, who received a total of four nominations, claimed the Choice Female Music Star of the Summer and Choice Twit awards.

Including Sunday’s haul, Lovato has won a total of six Teen Choice Awards.

But Lovato wasn’t the only Hispanic star to pick up an award…

The Vampire Diaries’ star Michael Trevino picked up the award for Choice TV Male Scene Stealer during last night’s show. Its the 27-year-old Mexican American actor’s second straight win in that category for his role as Tyler Lockwood on the CW series.

Another Latino playing a werewolf on television, Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey, claimed the Choice Summer TV Star Male award. It’s the first Teen Choice Award for the 20-year-old half-Mexican American actor, who will be returning for a third season on MTV’s hit supernatural series.

Former American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, who came into the night as the most-nominated Hispanic celebrity, took home the Choice TV Female Personality award for her role on Fox’s hit singing competition series. It’s her twelfth Teen Choice Award.

Meanwhile, Magic Mike star Adam Rodriguez took home the award for Choice TV Actor Action for his role on CSI: Miami; Selena Gomez & The Scene received the Choice Music Group award; Zoë Saldaña won in the Choice Movie Actress: Action category for her role in Colombiana; and Glee’s Lea Michele was named Choice TV Actress Comedy.

The Teen Choice Awards winners were chosen by fans, who cast a total of 134 million votes, Lovato reported during the show.

Posey’s “Teen Wolf” Returning for a Third Season…

It’s official… Tyler Posey will live to wolf another day…

During Comic-Con, MTV officials announced that the network will be bringing Posey’s hit series Teen Wolf for a third season.

The 20-year-old half-Mexican American actor, who exposes plenty of skin in the show’s season two credits, first told fans the show had not been picked up to cries from the audience before the recent ALMA Award-nominee revealed the real news.

The third season will feature 24 episodes, twice the number of the first- and second-season orders.

The pickup isn’t a complete surprise… Teen Wolf was recently one of the winners of California’s $100 million tax-credit lotto, after it applied for the credit as a relocating series. The show was previously filmed in Atlanta, but will shoot in Los Angeles next season.
