Baccarin Lands Role on Fox’s Batman Series “Gotham”

The 35-year-old Brazilian actress, who earned an Emmy nomination for her acclaimed performance on Showtime’s Homeland, has joined the cast of Fox’s new Batman series Gotham.

She’ll appear as a recurring actor this season and will become a regular in Season 2.

Baccarin will portray Dr. Leslie Thompkins, a gifted and dedicated physician who was a friend of Bruce Wayne’s parents, Thomas and Martha. She’s determined to use her skills to aid Gotham’s most in need, which currently means working at the newly opened Arkham Asylum’s Home for the Criminally Insane.

In addition to her medical skills, her coolness under pressure will serve her well as she finds herself drawn close to James Gordon and into more and more dangerous waters.

This marks Baccarin’s return to Fox ,where she previously co-starred on Joss Wheden’s Firefly. It was one of several cult sci-fi series Baccarin is known for, including Stargate SG-1 and V, which was produced by Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind Gotham.

Baccarin Expecting Her First Child

She may be one of the star’s of Homeland… But Morena Baccarin’s next project will keep her closer to home.

The 33-year-old Brazilian American actress and her husband Austin Chick are expecting their first child.

Baccarin confirmed the news to Us Weekly, but she didn’t offer further details about the pregnancy, including the due date.

Baccarin met her director husband through a mutual friend and began dating in 2007. They later got married in November 2011.

“We are solid,” she said a year later to Daily Mail. Although the couple was really busy with their own schedule, she revealed that she had her way to keep their relationship intact.

“You have to talk a lot. Which guys love,” she said. “You have to keep checking in, being aware of what is happening in each other’s worlds, otherwise you miss things, and then it becomes very hard to go back and connect the dots. But you also need to just know that the connection is there,” she shared her tips with a smile.

Baccarin is known for her role as Jessica Brody, the wife of politician Nicholas Brody, played by Damian Lewis, on Showtime’s “Homeland.” She’s also starred on ABC’s V and the sci-fi series Stargate SG-1.

Baccarin to Guest Star on “The Good Wife”

She’s played a “good wife” on Showtime’s Golden Globe-winning series Homeland… And, now Morena Baccarin will be sharing screen time with The Good Wife.

The 32-year-old Brazilian-born American actress will guest-star on CBS’ hit drama series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Baccarin—who plays dutiful wife Jessica Brody on Homeland—will appear as a high-powered executive who gets entangled with accused wife killer Colin Sweeney, played by Dylan Baker.

“She’ll be playing the executive-event planner at a large corporation who accuses our old friend Colin Sweeney — the deliciously creepy Dylan Baker — of sexual harassment,” explain series creators Robert and Michelle King.

The Firefly, V, and Stargate SG-1 will appear in episode 17, which is slated to air in early March.

“I’m a huge fan of the show, I’ve watched every single hour of it,” Baccarin tells EW. “Every actor in the cast is phenomenal and I’m so excited to be asked to join them for this episode.”

Meanwhile, the show’s creators are happy to have her appearing on the show.

“We’ve loved Morena going all the way back to Firefly,” say the Kings. “And she is doing just stunning work on Homeland.”
