Anitta to Appear in the YouTube Originals Special “Dear Earth”

The 28-year-old Brazilian singer, songwriter, actress and dancer will be featured in an upcoming YouTube Originals special titled Dear Earth.

Anitta will appear alongside BLACKPINKBillie EilishJaden Smith and more in the special premiering in October.

Dear Earth is part of YouTube Originals’ October sustainability-centered programming.

Former President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, Desmond Tutu and Google/Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai are among the global leaders presenting during the multi-hour celebration of the planet.

It will follow a similar format to YouTube Originals’ Dear Class of 2020 all-star commencement special during the pandemic last year, with keynote addresses, musical performances, special appearances and comedic shorts.

Dear Earth will “inspire and motivate audiences to create a better, healthier, existence for the planet through contributions from a wide range of global leaders, creators, celebrities and musicians,” Susanne Daniels, YouTube’s global head of original content, told reporters during the Summer TCA press tour.

Lil Dicky and GaTa as well as Tinashe will also be featured, as well as Marsai Martin, The Muppets, SpongeBob SquarePants and YouTube creators AsapSCIENCEBrave WildernessBretman Rock, DreamJack HarriesTheOdd1sOutPhysicsGirl and ZHC.

Dear Earth will premiere on YouTube on October 23.

The special is produced by Done + Dusted, Strong Brew and Silverback Films.

Kid Cudi Volunteers to Collaborate with Lil Nas X

Kid Cudi is stepping in for a Lil project…

The 37-year-old half-Mexican American rapper, singer, and actor has volunteered to collaborate with Lil Nas X.

On Wednesday (Sept. 1), Lil Nas X revealed the star-studded track list for his highly anticipated debut album Montero, which will feature collaborations with Megan Thee StallionElton JohnJack HarlowDoja Cat and Miley Cyrus.

When one Twitter user called out the lack of Black male guest artists, LNX responded in his defense on Twitter, “Maybe a lot of them just don’t wanna work with me.”

Durand Bernarr, Breland and more Black male artists eagerly flooded his replies to assure him this wasn’t the case, and it looks like Cudder has his back, too. The Man on the Moon rapper reshared Lil Nas X’s explanation and wrote back to him, “N—a ill work w u and frolic in rose gardens w u singin about my pain,” while referencing the Garden of Eden-esque, SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired painting that’s being used as the album artwork.

“U heard it here first everybody,” Lil Nas X wrote, “Kid cudi x lil nas for montero deluxe.”

Montero is set to be released on September 17. It remains unclear if and when a deluxe version of the LP will be released.

Daniel Dominguez Co-Writing the Snoop Dogg-Voiced Animated Series “Oakland”

Daniel Dominguez has another reason to get animated

The Latino writer and producer is co-writing the adult animated comedy series Oaklandia, featuring Snoop Dogg in the voice cast, for Amazon. Chris “Comedian CP” Powell is co-writing the series.

The animated series is set in Oakland, California. Produced by Amazon Studios, while Snoop Dogg and his manager and business partner Ted Chung executive produce alongside Vince Vaughn, Victoria Vaughn and Peter Billingsley for Wild West Picture Show Productions and Dominguez and Powell.

Dominquez is the head writer and executive producer for season two of HBO Max’s Michael B. Jordan animated series Gen:Lock.

He has written for television in the live-action, animated, adult and kid space since 2011. His credits include SpongeBob SquarePants, Big Hero 6: The Series and The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants.

J Balvin is heading under the sea for a special anniversary…

SpongeBob SquarePants continues to celebrate his 20th anniversary and this time, the aquatic animated character is teaming up with the 34-year-old Colombian reggaeton star.

This week, J Balvin shared a very short clip teasing fans about his upcoming collaboration with the cartoon. 

The Instagram caption simply stated “coming soon” with a rainbow and ocean wave emoji. SpongeBob, Nickelodeon, visual artist and designer Louis De Guzman and J Balvin’s accounts were all tagged. 

Billboardcan confirm that the forthcoming project will feature art, apparel and home goods.

Fifth Harmony Perfoms Latest Single at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello and Ally Brooke Hernandez have proven that their better together this Thanksgiving

The Latina singers, members of the Simon Cowell-created all-girl group Fifth Harmony, celebrated the recent holiday by performing at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Fifth Harmony, who joined a lineup that included Austin Mahone, Ariana Grande and Florida Georgia Line, rode on the Pepperidge Farm Goldfish float and performed their latest single “Better Together.”

Other performers during the 87th installment of the iconic holiday event included Cher Lloyd, who appeared on a Brooklyn Bridge replica; Fall Out Boy, Kellie Pickler, Gavin DeGraw and the Goo Goo Dolls.

This year’s parade, a three-hour event, featured more than 50 character balloons, which included SpongeBob SquarePants, Snoopy and his bird friend Woodstock and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Due to strong wind, the balloons were flown lower than normal.

Reyes Named VP Marketing at New Fusion Network

Anhelo Reyes’ next role will bring plenty of cultural fusion

The Latina television executive has been named VP Marketing at ABC and Univision‘s new network Fusion, which is aimed at young English-speaking Hispanics in the U.S.

Based in Miami, Reyes will oversee branding, marketing and promotions at Fusion, which is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2013.

Reyes most recently served as VP Strategic Property Planning and Marketing at Nickelodeon, where she worked on campaigns for series like SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles.

She also has worked at the Recording Academy and the National Association of Hispanic Publications.
