Lovato Gives A Stellar World Series National Anthem Performance…

Former “Sonny with a Chance” star Demi Lovato took some serious chances with her rendition of the national anthem at Game 5 of the World Series… And, she hit it out of the park!

The 19-year-old Texas native—showing support for her Texas Rangers by wearing the team’s jersey underneath her sharp blazer—wasn’t afraid to hit the high notes while perfoming the “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the ame between the Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals in Arlington, Texas.

“So nervous/excited about tomorrow!!! National anthem at the #WorldSeries… Wow!!!” the part-Mexican singer/actress announced via Twitter.

But, Lovato showed no sign of nerves. She delivered almost the entire song, except for a slight challenge with the line “land of the free,” with some serious gumption. And she made up for the slight slip-up by singing the closing “Home of the brave” line with some serious melisma!  The risky move paid off with the crowd unleashing some serious love at the end of Lovato’s performance.

Such a proud moment for the singer who was recently named to Billboard.com’s 21 Under 21 musicians list.

So what’s next for Lovato? She’ll be hitting the road for a series of “A Special Night with Demi Lovato” performances throughout the country starting next month.
