Lovato Wins People’s Choice Award for Favorite Celebrity Judge

The 20-year-old part-Mexican actress/singer and The X Factor judge picked up the award for Favorite Celebrity Judge at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards.

Lovato beat The Voice’s Christina Aguilera and American Idol’s Jennifer Lopez, as well as The X Factor’s Britney Spears and The Voice’s Adam Levine to win the coveted trophy.

Meanwhile, Glee star Lea Michele won Favorite Comedic TV Actress. The half-Spanish American actress beat out her co-star Jane Lynch, The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley CuocoModern Family’s Sofia Vergara and The New Girl’sZooey Deschanel for the public-voted honor.

The 39th annual awards show took place Wednesday night at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, with Cuoco hosting for a second time.

Lopez to Serve as a Presenter at Sunday’s Golden Globes

The 42-year-old Puerto Rican actress/singer will be one of the presenters at this year’s awards show.

Lopez was one of the first celebrities announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as a presenter for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, along with la Lopez’s Parker co-star Jason Statham, George Clooney, Will Ferrell, Jennifer Garner, Debra Messing, Jeremy Renner, Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington and Kristen Wiig.

Each of the scheduled presenters is either a past Globe winner or nominee.

More names will be announced in the lead-up to the telecast, which will be broadcast live on NBC this Sunday, January 13 at 8:00pm ET from the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler serving as this year’s hosts.

This year’s Latino nominees include three-time nominee Sofia Vergara.

Bündchen Named One of the Hottest Women of 2013

She may have just given birth to her second child last month, but Gisele Bündchen is still being hailed as one of the hottest women of 2013…

Men’s Health has named the 32-year-old Brazilian supermodel as of the hottest women of the year. Bündchen, who comes in at No. 9, is the only Latina to make the Top 10.

“She’s like a fashion model blitzkrieg; unstoppable, and easily destroying the competition. She’s been so busy that she purportedly turned down 20 million dollars to be the spokeswoman for Clonaid, the human cloning company. Which, on the one hand, was probably a smart business decision,” says the magazine “(The Guinness Book of Records credits her as ‘the world’s richest supermodel,’  so she doesn’t need the money.) But still, can you imagine if Clonaid was able to use their cloning technology to build an army of Bündchens? There could be a Bündchen in every home! Okay, probably not realistic, but we can dream, can’t we?”

Other Latinas who’ve made the list include Jessica Alba, Adriana Lima and Sofia Vergara. Katy Perry topped the list, beating out Esquire‘s Sexiest Woman Alive Mila Kunis, AskMen‘s Most Desirable Woman Jennifer Lawrence, and Maxim‘s hottest woman Bar Refaeli.

Vergara Receives Her Third Straight Golden Globe Nomination

The third time could turn out to be the charm for Sofia Vergara

During a special announcement ceremony this morning co-hosted by Jessica Alba, the 40-year-old Colombian actress received yet another Golden Globe nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

It’s Vergara’s third consecutive Golden Globe nomination in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC’s Modern Family. She lost in 2011 to Glee’s Jane Lynch and to American Horror Story’s Jessica Lange in 2012.

Vergara – who picked up two SAG Award nominations earlier this week – will be competing against Nashville’s Hayden Panettiere, The Good Wife’s Archie Panjabi, Game Change’s Sarah Paulson and Downton Abbey’s Maggie Smith.

Meanwhile, Louis C.K. has earned the first Golden Globe nomination of his career, for his critically acclaimed role on FX’s Louie.

The 45-year-old half-Mexican actor is nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series — Comedy Or Musical category. He’ll face off against 30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin, House of LiesDon Cheadle, EpisodesMatt LeBlanc and The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons.

NBC will televise the 70th annual Globes awards show on January 13, with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey co-hosting the event.

Cannavale Recives Two SAG Award Nominations

Bobby Cannavale excels at comedy and drama… And, he’s got two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations to prove it.

During the announcement of nominees for the 19th SAG Awards, the 42-year-old half-Cuban American actor was recognized as part of the ensembles of two cable shows.

Cannavale, a Primetime Emmy nominee this year for his guest-starring role on Modern Family, is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for his role as Gyp Rosetti on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

He’s also nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for his role as Dr. Mike Cruz on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie.

But Cannavele isn’t the only Hispanic nominee…

Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara, AskMen.com’s most desirable Latina in the world, has been nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category, as well as in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, along with her television son Rico Rodriguez.

Vergara, Rodriguez and the rest of the Modern Family cast have won the award for the last two years.

Louis C.K. has earned a SAG Award nod for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his starring role on FX’s Louie, the latest in a long string of nominations for his work on the series.

Like Louis C.K., Skyfall’s Javier Bardem has also picked up yet another nod for this outstanding work this year. The 43-year-old Spanish actor is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his villainous role in the latest Bond film.

Other Latino nominees include Nurse Jackie’s Jake Cannavale; Breaking Bad’s Steven Michael Quezada; Glee’s Samuel Larsen, Naya Rivera and Lea Michele; Homeland’s Morena Baccarin; and The Office’s Oscar Nuñez.

The Screen Actors Guild Award — The Actor — is presented for outstanding performances in motion pictures and primetime television in 2012, including the distinctive ensemble awards and the stunt ensemble honors.

Recipients of the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be announced at ceremonies on Sunday, January 27, simulcast live on TNT and TBS at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT.

It’s official (and no surprise)… Sofia Vergara is the most desirable Latina in the world…

The 40-year-old Colombian actress is the highest-ranking Latina on AskMen.com’s annual list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women, coming in at No. 12.

AskMen.com calls Vergara “arguably the sexiest funny woman on television today,” and spotlights the actress’ feat of receiving her third consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her work on Modern Family.

Vergara ranks ahead of other sexy Latinas including Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima (No. 27), Spanish soccer Sara Carbonero (No. 37), Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio (No. 40) and Selena Gomez (No. 56).

The 12th edition of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women poll asks for voted based on more than just sex appeal, according to the site. It asked voters to take into account character, intelligence, talent, sense of humor, professional success, achievements in 2012 and potential for 2013. More than 2.4 million votes were cast internationally.

Vergara Dons Black Lingerie on the Set of “Fading Gigolo”

Sofia Vergara isn’t afraid to bust out on the set of her next project…

The 40-year-old Colombian actress has been caught in the act of wearing oh-so-revealing black lingerie on the set of her new film with Sharon Stone, Fading Gigolo.

Vergara, who recently stripped down for artist Domingo Zapata, demonstrates that her ample assets are certainly age-defying as she portrays a wealthy woman, bored in her marriage.

According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, she engages in a three-way relationship with Stone’s character, a dermatologist, and a male escort played by John Turturro. Playing cash-strapped bookstore owner-turned pimp to Turturro in the film is Woody Allen.

The comedy, which also stars Liev Schreiber, Vanessa Paradis and Jill Scott, is slated for release in 2013.

Lovato Leads the Pack of Latino People’s Choice Award Nominees

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American singer, actress and The X Factor judge has picked up three People’s Choice Awards nominations, the most of any Hispanic artist.

Lovato, who picked up her first MTV Video Music Award earlier this year, is nominated for Favorite Pop Artist. She’ll face off against Adele, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and P!nk.

The former Disney Channel star has also been nominated for Favorite Celebrity Judge for her new role on Fox’s singing competition, along with The Voice’s Christina Aguilera and American Idol’s Jennifer Lopez, as well as The X Factor’s Britney Spears and The Voice’s Adam Levine.

In addition, Lovato will face off against her former Disney Channel co-star Selena Gomez in the Favorite Music Fan Following category. Lovato’s Lovatics and Gomez’s Selenators will compete against Bieber’s Beliebers, One Direction’s Directioners and Katy Perry’s KatyCats.

Other Hispanic nominees include Cameron Diaz, Sofia Vergara, Lea Michele, Today’s Natalie Morales, Pitbull and Bruno Mars.

Voting is currently underway in all 48 categories and will end on December 13.

The show, hosted by The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco for the second year in a row, will be broadcast live by CBS on January 9, 2013.

Pitbull Graces the Cover of Rolling Stone’s First Bilingual Issue

Pitbull is rolling his way into the history books…

The 31-year-old Cuban American hip-hop sensation graces the cover of Rolling Stone’s first bilingual issue in the magazine’s 45-year-history.

Pitbull appears on a secondary cover, complete with the Rolling Stone nameplate and cover lines entirely en español on the back page of the magazine’s November 22 issue.

Pitbull’s cover opens to a 15-page special section, Latin Hot List, which features Hispanic artists,  musicians and luminaries like Puerto Rican rap group Calle 13, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Junot Díaz, Emmy-nominated actress Sofia Vergara and more.

“This section was an incredible opportunity for us to dive deep into Latin music and culture, from Pitbull to Café Tacuba,” said Nathan Brackett, Rolling Stone Deputy Managing Editor in a press release. “We are thrilled with the results.

The November 22 issue has articles written in English with interview sidebars in Spanish — and no translations.

Peña to Guest Star on ABC’s “Modern Family”

Elizabeth Peña is about to share screen time with Sofia Vergara

The 51-year-old Cuban American actress has signed on to guest star as Gloria’s (Vergara) mother on ABC’s Modern Family.

Peña, whose film credits include La Bamba and Rush Hour, starred in the short-lived I Made Dora back in 1987-88.

Meanwhile, The Closer’s Stephanie Beatriz will portray Gloria’s sister, according to TVGuide.com.

Peña and Beatriz will appear in Episode 12, which is titled “Fulgencio.”

Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9:00 pm ET on ABC.
