Iglesias Becomes Solo Male Artist with the Most No. 1s on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs Chart

It should come as little surprise that Enrique Iglesias releases songs with titles like “Bailando,” “Dirty Dancer” and “Bailamos.”

Enrique Iglesias

The 41-year-old Spanish singer-songwriter has managed to break out of a tie for the most No. 1s among solo male artists in the 40-year history of Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart.

Iglesias has earned his 14th chart-topper with “Duele El Corazon,” featuring Wisin, who earns his first leader, as the track rises 2-1 on the chart dated September 17.

“I’m one lucky guy! ‘Duele El Corazon’ keeps surprising me in all senses,” Iglesias tells Billboard. “The song is quite simple and profound at the same time. And, in the end, all we need is love. That give-and-take feeling that moves the world.

“No. 1 on the dance chart … and I don’t dance. Quite amazing, if you ask me!”

Iglesias passes Dave Aude and Pitbull, each with 13 No. 1s.

Among all artists, he ties Lady Gaga for 10th place; Madonna leads with 46 No. 1s.

Dating back to the Dance Club Songs chart’s August 28, 1976, inception as a national survey, here’s an updated look at the acts with the most No. 1s:

46, Madonna
27, Rihanna
22, Beyonce

15, Donna Summer
14, Lady Gaga
14, Enrique Iglesias
13, Dave Aude
13, Whitney Houston

Iglesias’ new No. 1, remixed in Spanish and English by Aude, C-Rod and Tracy Young, among others (with added vocals by Tinashe and Javada), is the first leader with a foreign-language title since (the French) “Deja Vu,” by Giorgio Moroder featuring Sia (Aug. 1, 2015).

“Duele” is the first Spanish-language No. 1 since Iglesias’ last leader, “Bailando,” featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente De Zona (Oct. 18, 2014).

The crossover smash also remains No. 1 for a 12th (nonconsecutive) week on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart, where Iglesias has tallied a record 27 leaders.

Aguilera Releases Killer Music Video for “Your Body”

Talk about a killer clip… Christina Aguilera has released the music video for “Your Body,” the first single off her upcoming album, Lotus.

From the beginning of the 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian American singer’s Melina Matsoukas-directed clip, which was released Friday, it’s clear The Voice coach is feelin’ forceful against non-females.

Christina Aguilera's Your Body Video

“No men were harmed in the making of this video,” reads the graphic at the beginning of the official music video for “Your Body,” which features a trailer-trashtastic Aguilera seducing and slaughtering several men who only want to love her body.

Seemingly inspired by the animated cartoon violence on her TV screen, Aguilera takes out one male victim after another… A dude with a car that she blows up, a pool-playin’ playa she takes out in the bar’s bathroom and more.

Produced by Max Martin and Shellback, “Your Body” debuted at No. 34 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 after hitting the web last week. It’s the first single off of Aguilera’s fifth studio album, Lotus, which she has called a “rebirth.”

“This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years,” Aguilera told Billboard in last week’s cover story previewing the new album. “Once I could start writing my own songs, beginning with Stripped, I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message. And now I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21 with Stripped and I had a lot to say and a lot to express.”

Along with “Your Body,” Lotus will feature a collaboration with Sia on “Blank Page” and a duet with her fellow The Voice coach Cee Lo Green on “Make The World Move.”

Aguilera can currently be seen each week as a coach on the third season of the hit NBC singing competition show.

Lotus is due out November 13 on RCA Records.
