Victor Manuelle’s Music Career Celebrated by House of Representatives in Puerto Rico

It’s an enchanting time for Victor Manuelle

The 54-year-old Puerto Rican salsa singer, who was born in New York and raised in Isabela, Puerto Rico, was honored this week by the House of Representatives in Puerto Rico.

“Honor to whom honor deserves […] Thank you Victor for always putting our island so high,” wrote a tourist Instagram account called “Enjoy Isabela Puerto Rico.”

“Puerto Rico! this would not have been possible if it were not for the love you have given me during these 30 years of experience,” Manuelle shared on Instagram. “Thank you for watching me grow as a performer and loving me so much! I will always be grateful to you.”

Manuelle, known for hits such as “Tengo Ganas,” “He Tratado,” and “Si Tu Me Besas,” is wrapping up a weekend of concerts at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, as part of the commemoration.

Make that three Latin chart-toppers for Victor Manuelle

The 46-year-old Puerto Rican singer-songwriter’s latest track “Que Suenen Los Tambores” has moved up from 3-1 to crown Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart.

Manuelle’s festive hit single climbs to 10.3 million audience impressions in its 11th week (a 14 percent hike in the frame ending Dece,ber 21, according to Nielsen Music).

This marks the salsa singer’s third No. 1 on the list in his 21-year chart history, and his first since “Si Tu Me Besas” spent a week at No. 1 in 2012.

The song’s ascent follows a five-week consecutive run at No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart (where it dips 2-1 this week), the longest concurrent run of 2014.

“Tambores” became his 24th chart-capping track, extending his record for second-most No. 1s to 24 (Marc Anthony leads with 25).

“It’s a project that we have been working on for a little more than a year and it gives me the opportunity to present myself in this new facet,” the singer told the newspaper Primera Hora, after presenting his new fragrances in Puerto Rico.

VM for Him and VM for Her, which will hit the market on October 12, combine citrus fragrances with other floral scents like lavender, rose and magnolia.

The fragrance bottles, which are aptly inspired by microphones, have silver and gray tones.

Manuelle, who is currently tied with Marc Anthony for the most number-one singles on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart, saw his single Si Tú Me Besas become his 20th single to reach the number one position on the Tropical Songs chart. But that’s not all… It became his second number one song on the Hot Latin Songs chart and his first number one song on the Latin Pop Songs chart.
