Lochte Wants to Become the Next Kim Kardashian…

Ryan Lochte is ready to become the next Kim Kardashian

The 28-year-old competitive swimmer, an eleven-time Olympic medalist, is preparing to launch his new reality television show What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, which premiere on E! later this month.

Ryan Lochte

Last week, Lochte told the Hollywood Reporter that he decided to go the reality TV route to become the next Kim Kardashian.

“I have the most respect for her with her business and what she’s done. She started from nothing and now look at her. You can ask anyone and they’re going to know who she is. She’s handled herself really well throughout the years of doing her own show. She’s a star,” said Ryan. “That’s what I want to do.”

Lochte hopes his new reality show will bring him a new status.

“I’ve seen what E! has done in the past with reality shows like hers. Today, she’s huge,” he said, adding that his current profession has its benefits.

“Not to have a big head about it, but people love me. When I walk down the street, people recognize me, and that never happened before. Now’s my chance. Anything I do, I do 110 percent. I don’t half-ass it,” said Ryan.

To prepare himself for his new show, Lochte watched Kourtney and Kim Take Miami. “The whole Kardashian family, they have a bunch of energy. Wow, this was awesome. That’s how my family is. We all have a bunch of energy and we are all different,” he commented on the family.

Now that filming of his new show has finished, Lochte is now back in Gainesville, Florida to get ready for the world championships in Barcelona this July.

“I’m back in my normal routine, getting my butt whipped all the time,” he said.

What Would Ryan Lochte Do? premieres on E! on April 21.

E! Premieres First Promo for “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?”

If you’ve missed seeing Ryan Lochte, you’re in luck…

E! has released the first promo for the 28-year-old half-Cuban American swimming sensation’s new reality series What Would Ryan Lochte Do?

Ryan Lochte

In the clip, Lochte is shown at swimming practice, showing off his sports car and personalized tennis shoes, and going shirtless while playing some football.

Set to premiere this April, the show will follow the Olympic swimmer as “he prepares for the Rio games in 2016 while building his fashion line, making buzz-worthy media appearances, dealing with his unconventional family and loyal friends and, always, searching for ‘the one.'”

It also offers “unpredictable, unfiltered and delightfully uninhibited ‘Lochteisms’,” including his signature phrase, “Jeah!”

Lochte to Star in His Own E! Reality Television Show

Ryan Lochte isn’t getting an E! True Hollywood Story… No, he’s getting a real Hollywood story on E!

The 28-year-old Olympic swimming star, who won five medals at the 2012 London Games, will star in his own reality show on E!.

Ryan Lochte

The network has ordered six episodes of What Would Ryan Lochte Do, which will take viewers “inside the unpredictable and offbeat life of the 2012 London Olympic Games’ breakout star.” The show will follow Lochte as he searches for the “right gal” and continues his training regimen.

During E!’s TV critics press tour panel in Pasadena, a sneak preview of the show was screened for reporters. Lochte came off a little dense, like a male version of Jessica Simpson.

“I don’t even know what is a douchebag,” said the swimmer, who’s been called America’s Sexiest Douchebag. “I don’t even know what it means.”

“How many people fall in love with the smartest guy in the class? They fall for the fastest swimmer,” E! President Suzanne Kolb told EW.

The show represents a slight a departure from E!’s traditional television fare; the network typically features shows starring females. Although, Lochte – who was featured in People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue – has no shortage of female appeal.

“He is an incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining and fun,” Kolb noted in a statement. “Watching this show, I believe people will fall into three categories: they want to be him, sleep with him or mother him.”

E! promises the show, which debuts in April, will feature plenty of “Lochteisms,” such as his “Jeah” catchphrase and this quote: “I always pee in a pool. Doesn’t everyone?”

Lochte Breaks His Own 200-Meter Individual Medley Record

Ryan Lochte doesn’t seem to be slowing down after the 2012 London Games

The 28-year-old swimming sensation – an 11-time Olympic medalist – broke his own world record in the 200-meter individual medley Friday at the short-course world championships, and he celebrated the feat by giving away his medal to a boy in the crowd.

Ryan Lochte

“To see that smile on that little face means everything to me,” said Lochte, who finished the eight laps in 1 minute, 49.63 seconds. Daiya Seto of Japan won the silver in 1:52.80, and Laszlo Cseh of Hungary won the bronze in 1:52.80.

Lochte set his earlier record of 1:50.08 at the last short-course championships in Dubai in 2010, when the American won six gold medals and one silver. He’s won four races so far at this year’s event, which is taking place in Istanbul. He captured five medals at the 2012 Olympic Games, including two golds.

“Any time you break the world record, it’s amazing,” said Lochte. “I swam my best time, of course. I wanted to do something that no one else did here. I didn’t know I was going that fast anyway.”

After the awards ceremony, Lochte gave his medal to a fan, 9-year-old Arda Cakmak. Cakmak, the medal ribbon around his neck, showed off the prize to friends and photographers at the Sinan Erdem Arena.

Ryan Lochte III

“One of the main reasons for racing is because of my fans, so I always want to give something back,” the swimmer said. “If I took the medal, it would end up in a sock drawer. If I give it to a fan, they’re going to treasure it. It will make their day or even their life.”

This was Lochte’s fourth consecutive gold medal in the discipline, making him the second man to achieve that feat at the short-course championships. James Hickman of Britain won the 200 butterfly five times between 1997-2004.

Introducing Sexiest Man Alive Contender Ryan Lochte’s Wingman…

Hot Dog! Ryan Lochte isn’t afraid to share a picture frame with his prized pooch…

During his Sexiest Man Alive shoot for People magazine, the 28-year-old half-Cuban American swimming sensation – who picked up five medals at the 2012 London Games – did more than flaunt his oh-so-fit form and charming smile.

Ryan Lochte

Lochte showed off Carter, a 5-year-old Doberman pinscher and his chick magnet.

“He is a good wingman because he’s a beautiful dog,” Lochte tells People. “Girls come up to me and go, ‘Oh my god, where’s Carter? He’s so good looking!'”

And ladies man Lochte, who hit the beach with Carter for their shoot, has nothing but puppy love for his wingman.

“He’s my best friend and I love him,” says Lochte. “I just need to take him wherever I go and I’ll be set.”

Lochte In Talks to Star in Reality Show on E!

Ryan Lochte could soon be getting real on national television…

The 28-year-old half-Cuban American swimmer has confirmed that he’s currently in talks with E! to star in his own reality television series.

Ryan Lochte

But that’s not all… He’s planning to launch his own fashion line, an entrepreneurial experience he’d most likely share on screen with viewers.

“Pretty much, they follow me on my normal day, just training, doing my own fashion line… It’s gonna be me, me being myself,” said Lochte, who will be guest-starring on the CW’s 90210 this season. “And I’m pretty much going to show the world that and my new fashion line.”

There’s no word on where in the negotiation stage Lochte, a five-time medalist at this year’s London Games, is with E!

And the Lochtenator, as he’s lovingly called, is reportedly mulling offers to star on other reality shows, including The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars.

One thing is certain… Lochte has set his sights on Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Lochte to Guest Star on the CW’s “90210”

Ryan Lochte will be making an appearance in one of the country’s swankiest zip codes…

The 28-year-old half-Cuban American swimmer, who picked up five medals at the London Games, will make his television series debut with a cameo appearance on CW’s 90210.

Ryan Lochte

Lochte, who has expressed interest in appearing on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, will play a guest at a resort where Naomi and Max are staying to strengthen their relationship.

The episode featuring Lochte, who plans to move to LA in the near future, is set to air October 29.

Lochte to Appear on a Reality TV Show?

Now that he’s set his sights on competing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, is Ryan Lochte preparing to learn the samba in front of a national audience?

Ryan Lochte

The 28-year-old half-Cuban American swimmer, who picked up five medals at the2012 Olympic Games, appeared on Good Morning America this week and was asked if he’d rather appear on ABC’s The Bachelor or Dancing With the Stars?

Lochte’s pick: ballroom or babes!

“It’s a competition, and I have that competitive edge in me,” explained Lochte, who plans to move to Los Angeles now that the Olympics have come and gone.

Teammate Michael Phelps has also said he’d be interested in Dancing with the Stars, according to Us Weekly. So maybe they’ll soon get to face-off on the dance floor.

“Ryan would make the perfect next Bachelor. … He has the ‘it’ factor. Especially after his mother’s one-night-stand comment, everyone wants to know who is the real Ryan and what would it be like to date him,” a media expert told HuffPost. “Forget dancing shows — this guy should be doing dating shows, for sure.”

Meanwhile, according to the The Hollywood Reporter, Lochte’s agent says the Olympian has three offers for a reality show on the table.

If he did one, he promised GMA it would be unusual. “It wouldn’t be your normal reality TV show because I’m definitely not your normal guy.”

Today’s Matt Lauer followed up on the reality question on Friday and Lochte replied, “I’m definitely looking towards Dancing With the Stars and The Bachelor, so we’ll see what happens. I definitely want to move to L.A. That’s been a big goal of mine, getting into fashion because that is my passion. I definitely want to get into fashion and design my own clothing line.”

Lochte Wins Two Medals to End His London Games With Five Medals

London Olympics 2012

It may not have been a golden night for Ryan Lochte… But he’ll still have plenty of reason to celebrate when he turns 28 on Friday.

The 27-year-old half-Cuban American swimmer lost to rival Michael Phelps in the 200-meter individual medley on Thursday at the 2012 Olympic Games, but Lochte’s silver finish gave him his fifth medal of the London Games.

Ryan Lochte

Earlier in the night—in a disappointing performance in his signature event—Lochte came in third to teammate Tyler Clary in the 200 backstroke, roughly half an hour before his race against Phelps.

This is the end of competition for Lochte at this year’s Olympics. So how does he rate his performance in London?

“A little above average,” said Lochte. “Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don’t. But overall, I can’t be too disappointed. I am coming home to my country with five Olympic medals.”

Ryan Lochte

Lochte’s silver and bronze Thursday brought his career total to 11. Only Phelps has more among American men with 20 Olympic medals, 16 of them gold.

So what Lochte’s favorite memory of these Games?

“The 400 IM,” he said. “Getting that gold. It was the first race, the first day of the Olympics. Getting it off right for Team USA. That definitely was one of the greatest feelings.”

And he could have more great Olympic medals. Lochte plans to compete at 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
