Maluma is trying a new formula… And, he’s calling on a Latin Music legend for an assist.
The 29-year-old Colombian singer/songwriter has joined voices with Marc Anthony to release the new single “La Fórmula.”
The track opens up with a subtle pop-reggaetón rhythm against a glimmering melody, as Maluma yearnfully croons about love lost.
Then suddenly, “La Fórmula” transforms into an ebullient salsa banger, complete with blaring horns, anchored by the passionate wail of Marc Anthony, the top selling tropical salsa artist of all time.
Produced by the two singers, as well as Edgar Barrera, Rude Boyz and Sergio George, the duet chronicles how no such formula exists for securing love and devotion with a certain someone — but there’s always that hope.
The music video captures the two superstars recording their single at The Hit Factory in Miami.
Maluma is hoping to put some up-and-coming talent on the map…
The 27-year-old Colombian singer/songwriter has joined voices with newcomers Kapla y Miky, Philip Ariaz and Blessd for the new single “L.N.E.M. (GATA).”
The new single comes on the heels of “Sobrio” and its star-studded video featuring Scott Disick and other celebs.
This time, Maluma reels in the newcomers, as he hopes to put “la nueva en el mapa” on their collaboration.
Co-produced by Golden Mindz and Rude Boyz, the track infectiously laces a slow-tempo perreo melody with hip-hop and reggaeton beats.
“This is what making history is all about,” Maluma wrote on his Instagram.
“He wants to raise the flag,” former BillboardLatin Artist on the Rise Blessd says of Maluma. “There is no other artist like him helping those of us who are emerging so much. He’s doing a job that no one else has done. I respect him as an artist and triple as a person because of that.”
The 26-year-old Colombian/songwriter singer has released his new single “Hawái,” along with the track’s drama-filled music video.
The song finds Maluma heartbroken and plotting his next move to get his lady back — even if that means crashing her wedding.
Produced by Rude Boyz, the melodious pop song was penned by Maluma, Keityn, Edgar Barrera and Bulle Nene with lyrics set in present day that tell the story of a toxic relationship and the aftermath of a breakup in the Instagram era.
“Stop lying to yourself, the photo you put up with him saying he was your everything, I know you only posted it to make me jealous,” Maluma sings.
Maluma wrote the storyline for music video, which was shot in Miami. The action-packed video, directed by Jessy Terrero of Cinema Giants, opens with a scene of Maluma arguing with his girlfriend. After the huge blow up, they go their separate ways. On her wedding day to another man, he crashes the ceremony hoping she’ll take him back. And, the video ends with a plot twist.
The tracks drop ahead of Maluma’s forthcoming album, slated to be released later this year, according to Maluma.
In an interview with Apple Music, he said, “I didn’t know that I was about to release an album this year because all of these things are happening.”
Adding, “my first album [this year] is about to come. I had this chance to know myself again in this crazy sh– that is going on. So, I decided to make the music that I just wanted to do. “Hawái” for sure is the first single of my new album.”
Malumais calling on two superstar ladies for a bad remix…
The 24-year-old Colombian urban singer has released a “Mala Mia” remix featuring Anitta and Becky G.
The “Mala Mía” remix follows the same controversial tone of the original version, but this time Anitta and Becky G add a female rebellion vibe with lyrics that mostly talk about sex, demanding equality and defending the free way of living life.
The new version is complemented by the catchy original chorus, “This is my life, it’s only mine, you don’t live it/ If it bothers you, forget me.”
“Mala Mía” was written by Maluma, Edgar Barrera, Stiven Rojas, Becky G, Anitta, Johany Alejandro Correa, and the Rude Boyz (Kevin Jiménez and Bryan Lezcano) and produced by Johany Alejandro Correa and The Rude Boyz.
The cover of the single was drawn by Romeo, Maluma’s 10 year-old nephew and the lyric video was inspired by his designs; It was produced, drawn and animated by Sara Escobar.
