The CW to Premiere Jeanine Mason’s “Roswell, New Mexico” in January

The CW will the premiere its new drama series Roswell, New Mexico, starring the Cuban American actress and dancer, onTuesday, January 15 at 9:00 pm ET behind Flash.

The series, the second television adaptation of the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz, centers on Liz Ortecho (Mason), a jaded biomedical researcher and the daughter of undocumented immigrants who discovers her teenage crush is an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect, but when a violent attack points to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him.

The series also stars Nathan Parsons, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis, Tyler Blackburnand Michael Trevino.

Mason, the first Cuban American to win So You Think You Can Dance, previously appeared on television in Grey’s Anatomy, Bunheads, and Daytime Divas.

Michael Trevino to Star in the CW’s “Roswell” Reboot

Michael Trevino is flying (saucer) high…

The 33-year-old Mexican-American actor has landed a role in the CW’s untitled Roswell pilot that acts as a reboot of the cult sci-fi series.

Trevino joins a cast that includes Jeanine MasonNathan Parsons, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis, Tyler Blackburn and Heather Hemmens.

The project hails from Amblin Television, Bender Brown Prods, Warner Bros. TelevisionJulie Plec and Carina MacKenzie.

Trevino, who played Tyler Lockwood on the CW’s The Vampire Diaries for eight seasons, reunites with Plec on the Roswell reboot, which was written by The Originals scribe MacKenzie.

Plec, who is directing the pilot, co-created Vampire Diaries and its spinoff The Originals.

The reimagined Roswell — like the original WB/UPN series based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz — has an immigration twist, reflecting the realities of its location in a state bordering Mexico. After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.

Trevino will play Kyle Valenti, the popular son of the town sheriff who questions his carefree outlook on life after learning the terrifying truth of his family’s legacy.

Trevino will next star in the feature film Out of Control.

Delfino Cast in “Friends with Better Lives” Pilot

The 32-year-old Venezuelan-born actress, who recently backed out of ABC’s comedy pilot Keep Calm And Karey On, has already landed her next role… one of the leads in another 20th Century Fox Television’s comedy pilot Friends with Better Lives.

Directed by James Burrows, the project centers on six 30-something friends who each think the other has it better.

Delfino, who rose to acclaim on the cult sci-fi classic Roswell, will play one of the friends, Andi. She is described as an attractive and vulnerable mother of an infant and 3-year-old twins who is married to Bobby (Kevin Connolly) and is best friends with Jules (Brooklyn Decker) and Kate.

Her other television credits include Men of a Certain Age, State of Georgia and Quarterlife.

The 32-year-old Venezuelan-American actress has landed a role opposite Jane Seymour in ABC’s comedy pilot Keep Calm and Carry On.

From writer/executive producer Andrea Abbate, the project revolves around Karey, the clean-nosed black sheep in a family of petty thieves, drug addicts, and narcissists. When her brother is sent to prison, she decides to raise his kids along with her adopted black son and give them the normal lives they deserve.

Delfino, who gave birth to her first child last summer, will portray Kerey’s sister Penny, who seems pretty clueless about what’s going on around her.

Seymour will portray their mother Dotty, who mainly cares about herself and disregards what her children or grandchildren want.

Delfino’s television credits include Roswell, State of Georgia and Quarterlife.

Delfino to Star in “The Office” Spinoff

Dwight or wrong… Majandra Delfino will be returning to television on a spinoff of The Office

31-year-old Venezuelan actress, who gave birth to her first child earlier this summer, has been cast as Rainn Wilson’s character Dwight Schrute’s sister on the highly anticipated The Office spinoff, which will be introduced in an future episode of NBC’s longtime comedy later this season.

Entitled The Farm, the spinoff will show Dwight living at the Schrute family beet farm and bed & breakfast.

Delfino will play Fannie Schrute, Dwight’s younger sister who once fled the Schrute farm life for Boston but has returned home, divorced and with a child.

The Farm was conceived by Wilson and former Office executive producer/showrunner Paul Lieberstein.

Delfino has previously starred in Roswell and ABC Family’s State of Georgia.

The 31-year-old Venezuelan actress gave birth to daughter Cecilia Delphine Walton, on Thursday, June 14 in Los Angeles.

It’s the first child for Delfino and her husband David Walton.

“We’re in love with her and are having a lot of fun with our new family member,” the couple tell People of their bundle of joy, who weighed in at 9 lbs., 3 oz.

Walton, 33, and former Roswell star Delfino, who tied the knot in March 2011 in Miami, announced the pregnancy in January.

Delfino most recently starred in ABC Family’s State of Georgia, while Walton appeared opposite Amanda Peet on the NBC sitcom Bent.
