Emeraude Toubia to Star in the Rom-Com “The Pet Nup”

Emeraude Toubia has a new pet project…

The 35-year-old half-Mexican Canadian actress has joined the cast of Sony Pictures International Productions and Mucho Mas Media’s The Pet Nup, an original rom-com currently in development.

Emeraude ToubiaToubia will star alongside Gregg Sulkin, Halston Sage and Jaime Pressly in the film to be directed by Elaine del Valle.

Scripted by Tate Hanyok, the film’s logline is as follows: While a recently divorced couple navigates new life and love apart, the arrangement in their “Pet-Nup” forces them to extremes as they fight for custody of the one thing in their life that can’t be split in two: their dog.

Previously starring in Gloria Calderón Kellett’s Prime Video series With Love and Freeform’s Shadowhunters, Toubia will soon be seen in the title role of Felipe Vargas’ horror film Rosario.

She’ll also star alongside Gina Rodriguez and Karla Souza in the upcoming comedy, Like It Used to Be.

Most recently directing the Tubi original Midnight Hustle, Del Valle also wrote and directed Brownsville Bred, a YA family drama sharing her personal coming-of-age story. She is a WarnerMedia 150 Artist, Sundance Writer & Director Lab alumna, Shondaland Director finalist and two-time Lynn Shelton and Imagen Impact award nominee.

The 29-year-old Spanish rapper, whose real name is Antón Álvarez Alfaro, has released his new single “Nunca Estoy.”

The nearly three-minute song focuses on the challenges of a love that’s already broken. 

“How do you expect me to love you, if you’re not here?” C. Tangana croons. 

Written from the woman’s point of view and produced by Alizzz and NINETEEN 85, “Nunca Estoy” makes reference to some of Spain’s finest like Rosario’s “Como quieres que te quiera” and Alejandro Sanz’s “Corazon Partio.”

The track is accompanied by a 90s-inspired home video, directed by Javier Ruiz, showing a mashup of personal videos filmed during the artist’s quarantine in Mexico, back home in Madrid and life on the road.

Rivera to Star in Univision’s Upcoming “Cosita linda” Telenovela

Zuleyka Rivera has landed her next telenovela role…

The 25-year-old Puerto Rican actress and former beauty queen, who was Miss Universe 2006, has signed on to star in the Cosita linda, a new telenovela for Univision and Venevision.

“I’m very happy to have signed the contract. My participation will be an antagonistic role,” Rivera told reporters after being presented as the new spokesperson for Le’dermis beauty products.

Rivera, who made her acting debut in the Telemundo telenovela Dame Chocolate in 2007, currently portrays Sandra Diaz on the soap opera Rosario.

She resumed her career as an actress after giving birth to her first child, Sebastián José Barea Rivera, with Minnesota Timberwolves point guard José Juan Barea. The baby was born Feb. 17, 2012.

While filming Rosario, Rivera participated as an extra in her first Hollywood film Runner, Runner, which stars Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck.

Cosita linda will begin filming in May in Miami.
