Rosalia & Rauw Alejandro Tease Upcoming Single “Beso” with a Kiss

Rosalia is puckering up…

Two days after officially revealing their joint, three-track EP RR, due out March 24, the 30-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer and Rauw Alejandro revealed a snippet of one of their upcoming songs “Beso” on Wednesday (March 15).

Rosalia & Rauw AlejandroIn a steamy clip posted on Rosalía’s TikTok account, the power couple are seen closely facing each other in bed, as they sing their romantic verses like they’re on the verge of kissing each other.

It’s the first time that onlookers get to see and hear the pair sing together — and the new reggaeton-pop song already brims with equal parts conviction and seduction. With Rosalía’s breathy, flamenco-laden rasp, and Alejandro’s sensual R&B-laden vocals, their voices meet in perfect harmony.

“Yo necesito otro beso,” croons Rosalía, and her partner responds “Uno de esos que tú me das.” “Estar lejos de ti es el infierno,” she sings, “Estar cerca de ti es mi paz,” he responds. The pair then unite their voices, singing, “Yo me voy contigo a matar / No me dejes solo / ¿Pa’ dónde vas, pá dónde vas?”

Alejandro kicked off his Saturno World Tour last month in the Dominican Republic, and on Thursday and Friday (March 16-17), the Puerto Rican artist will venture to the Tri-State area with New Jersey and New York stops. The trek will continue to Mexico, Central America, and Europe throughout the summer before hitting up South America in the fall.

Earlier this month, Rosalía was recognized as Producer of the Year at the Billboard Women In Music awards. Rosalia, who had one of the most successful tours of 2022 with Motomami, will also be headlining some of the biggest festivals around the world such as Coachella, Lollapalooza (Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Paris), Primavera Sounds, Gurtenfestival and more.

On Monday (March 13), the beloved duet revealed the names of their songs of their EP, which also include “Vampiros” and “Promesa.” While RR is their first official release together, the couple have subtly collaborated on each other’s previous projects; Rosalía sang backing vocals on “Dile a Él” from Rauw’s first album, Afrodisiaco (2020) as well as “Corazón Despeinado” from Saturno (2022). Rauw co-wrote some lyrics in Rosalía’s “Chicken Teriyaki” from her Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning 2022 album, Motomami.

She also lent her pen on “Caprichoso” from Rauw’s EP Trap Cake, Vol. 2 (2022).

Bad Bunny Leads Pack of Latin American Music Awards Nominees with 11 Nods

Bad Bunny is the artist to beat at this year’s Latin American Music Awards.

The nominations for the 2023 Latin AMAs have been revealed, with the 29-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer leading the pack with 11 nominations, including artist of the year, song of the year and album of the year.

Bad BunnyBad Bunny is still riding high off his Billboard 200 chart-topping album Un Verano Sin Ti and hit single “Me porto bonito.”

Bad Bunny is followed by Becky G and Daddy Yankee, each with nine nominations; and with eight nods each are Grupo Frontera, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, Romeo Santos and Rosalía, to name a few.

Additionally, Bizarrap, Blessd, Edén Muñoz, Grupo Frontera, Los Lara, Luis Figueroa, Luis R Conriquez, Quevedo, Santa Fe Klan and Yahritza y Su Esencia are nominated in the best new artist category.

TelevisaUnivision also revealed that Carlos Vives and Pepe Aguilar will be recognized as 2023 Latin AMAs Legacy honorees.

Co-hosted by Galilea Montijo and Julián Gil, the eighth edition of the Latin AMAs will take place on Thursday, April 20, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, and for the first time — since its debut on October 8, 2015, on Telemundo — the ceremony will be broadcast live simultaneously on Univision, UNIMÁS and Galavisión (starting at 7:00 pm ET), after TelevisaUnivision acquired the rights from dick clark productions last September.

This year’s nominations are based on streaming, sales, radio airplay, tours and even social media interactions data provided by Billboard and Luminate during the eligibility period (February 12, 2022, through February 4, 2023).

Fans can vote for their favorite artists on Univision.com/LatinAMAs through Sunday, March 26.

Rosalía to Perform Headlining Set at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival

The 30-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer is set to serve as a headlining act at this year’s Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

RosaliaIn addition to Rosalia, the festival will feature headlining sets from Blur, Kendrick Lamar, Queens of the Stone Age, Christine and the Queens and others.

Organizers announced a slew of new additions to the line-up on Monday, February 27, including Angélique Kidjo, Caroline Polachek, Weyes Blood, Code Orange, Indigo De Souza and Special Interest.

Other previously announced names on the roster for the fest slated to take place between June 24-July 1 are: Burna Boy, Sudan Archives, Big Freedia, GloRilla, Lil Nas X, Central Cee, Fever Ray, Hudson Mowhawke, Tinariwen, Lock Up, Benny Jamz, Clarissa Conelly’s Canon, 070 Shake, Derya Yildrim & Grup Simsek, Alice Glass, Rina Sawayama, Denzel Curry, Tove Lo, Japanese Breakfast, Nikki Lane, First Hate, Fulu Miziki, J.I.D., Rema, Armand Hammer, Billy Woods, Nora Brown and Phelimuncasi.

In a statement, Roskilde’s head of programming, Anders Wahrén, praised the eclectic lineup, saying, “This announcement features some of the most vehement vocalists and powerful performers right now, acts whom in each their own way convey hope, meaning and change. Roskilde Festival has shared a special, decade-spanning bond with artists like Kendrick Lamar and Angélique Kidjo, and they always bring something new to this festival.”

Speaking specifically about Lamar, Wahrén added, “Kendrick Lamar is one of the most requested artists among our festival audience, and he possesses a peerless artistic vision. He is no doubt the most influential rapper of his generation, and we’re excited to welcome him back.”

Rosalia Earns Fifth Straight No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with Romeo Santos-Collab “El Pañuelo”

Make it five chart-toppers in a row for Rosalia…

The 30-year-old Spanish Grammy- and Latin Grammy-winning singer/songwriter’s Romeo Santos-collaboration “El Pañuelo” rises 2-1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart to crown the February 25-dated survey.

RosaliaThe new coronation extends Santos’ record as the tropical artist with the most No. 1s (22), while Rosalía earns her sixth champ (and her fifth straight leader.)

In the February 10-16 tracking period, “El Pañuelo” earned 11 million audience impressions in the U.S., up 1% from the week prior, according to Luminate.

It advances from the runner-up slot in its 15th week and sends Bizarrap and Shakira’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” to No. 2 (with a 2% dip to 10.6 million impressions).

It’s the second time “El Pañuelo” has topped a Latin chart. The new coronation arrives three weeks after the song reached No. 1 on Tropical Airplay (February 4-dated ranking), where it remains for a third week (in between, the song dipped to No. 3 on Feb. 11).

Back on Latin Airplay, as “El Pañuelo” arrives at the summit, Santos extends his No. 1 record among tropical artists, and enters a tie with Maluma and Wisin for the fifth-most overall, since the chart launched in 1994.

Rosalía Partnering with Coca Coca for Limited-Edition Flavor

Rosalía is officially a (soda) pop queen…

The 30-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer/songwriter has a new collaboration dropping with Coca-Cola later this month.

RosaliaThe beverage giant and the multi-platinum selling singer teamed up for a limited-edition Coca-Cola Creations flavor as part of the Coke Move campaign.

Rosalía co-created the flavor, which serves up a unique twist on the classic taste, at the Coca-Cola headquarters in Georgia.

“I went to Atlanta, and tried a thousand flavors and chose aromas,” she told Billboard Español. “The whole process of getting to the flavor that you are looking for is a lot of fun.”

“I gave in to the flavors that awakened something in me,” she added. “The ones that made me close my eyes when I tasted them and that seemed more delicious to me. It reminds me a lot of coconut, my favorite fruit, and one that I have always eaten since I was little.”

The Coca-Cola collaboration includes an exclusive track, “Lie Like You Love Me,” which was released on January 27.

Meanwhile, the special-edition Coke cans and bottles channel Rosalía’s lively personality, with vibrant colors and doodles hand-drawn by the singer. Additionally, fans will be able to scan a QR code on the collectible Coca-Cola Move can or bottle to access the digital Coca-Cola Creations Hub featuring exclusive, behind-the-scenes content from the making of “LLYLM” and more.

“Transformation as a means of self-expression is powerful and resonant for today’s generation, and music is the universal language for transformation” said Oana Vlad, Senior Director, Global Strategy at The Coca-Cola Company. “Partnering with the inspirational and genre-defying Rosalía to bring to life our latest drop under Coca-Cola Creations has been a blast and has broken new ground for Coca-Cola Creations. We hope our collective fans will love this drink!”

Fans will also get a chance to bid on Rosalía memorabilia, including an autographed helmet, tour outfit, poster and other collectibles.

Proceeds from the auction will support the Antonio Gala Foundation, a non-profit based in Rosalía’s home country of Spain that provides residency scholarships to young creators.

The new Coca-Cola Move flavor, available in cans and bottles, will be released in the U.S and in Canada on February 20.

Coca-Cola previously collaborated with DJ Marshmello on a limited-edition flavor last year. Aside from the signature flavor and limited-edition drops, Coca-Cola offers Coke vanilla, Coke cherry and cherry vanilla.

Rosalía has a lot in the works. Besides the beverage collab, she will take the stage at Coachella, which kicks off April 14-16. This year’s festival will be headlined by Frank Ocean, Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK. Other names on the bill include Charlie XCX, Gorillaz, Burna Boy, The Chemical Brothers, Blondie, Becky G, Metro Boomin, Latto, Björk, Kali Uchis, Porter Robinson, Glorilla, Jai Paul and Jackson Wang.

Even though the 28-year-old Puerto Rican actor didn’t take home the Grammy for Album of the Year for his acclaimed album Un Verano Sin Ti, which made history as the first Spanish-language album to earn a Grammy nomination in the top category, Bad Bunny didn’t leave empty-handed.

Bad BunnyFor the third year in a row, El Conjejo Malo took home a Grammy. He won the gramophone for Best Música Urbana Album for Un Verano Sin Ti.

It’s his second straight win in the category, which was launched at last year’s awards show. In 2022, Bad Bunny won for El Último Tour Del Mundo.

In 2021, Bad Bunny claimed the Grammy for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album for YHLQMDLG.

Rosalia has claimed her second Grammy.

The 30-year-old Spanish singer/songwriter picked up the award for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album for her acclaimed album MOTOMAMI.

Arturo O’ Farrill has picked up his sixth Grammy…

The 62-year-old Mexican jazz musician won Best Latin Jazz Album for Fandango At The Wall In New York as part of the Arturo O’Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra featuring The Congra Patria Son Jarocho Collective.

Marc Anthony won the Best Tropical Latin Album Grammy for Pa’lla Voy, while Natalia Lafourcade took home the Best Regional Mexican Music Album (Including Tejano) award for Un Canto por México – El Musical and Ruben Blades alongside Boca Livre won the Best Latin Pop Album prize for Pasieros.

Meanwhile, Encanto claimed three Grammys.

The Disney animated film won for Best Compilation Soundtrack and Best Score Soundtrack (giving composer Germaine Franco her first career Grammy), while Best Song Written For Visual Media went to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” which was penned by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The chart-topping ensemble song beat out works from Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Angélique Kidjo, and Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell.

Jenna Ortega is making an impression with the kids…

Nickelodeon has revealed the nominees for its 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards, with the 20-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress earning her first nod.

Jenna OrtegaOrtega is nominated in the Favorite Female Star TV (Family) category for her portrayal of Wednesday Addams on Netflix’s acclaimed series Wednesday.

Selena Gomez and Salma Hayek will face off in the Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie (Female).

The 30-year-old Mexican American actress is nominated for her role as Mavis in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, while the Mexican actress is nominated for her work as Kitty Softpaws in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Cardi B is nominated in the Favorite Female Artist category; Bad Bunny is nominated in the Favorite Male Artist category, and Taboo and his Black Eyed Peas group mates are up for Favorite Music Group.

Taboo and his fellow Black Eyed Peas, nominated with Shakira and David Guetta for “Don’t You Worry,” will face off against Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran, nominated for “Bam Bam,” in the Favorite Collaboration category.

Bad Bunny (Latin America) and Rosalia (Europe) are up for Favorite Global Music Superstar.

Stephen Sanchez is nominated for Favorite Social Media Star.

The awards show will air live on Saturday, March 4 at 7:00 pm ET/PT from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater.

In the sports categories, Lionel Messi is up for Favorite Male Sports Star.

Musical performances will be announced at a later date.

This year’s show will also feature extreme logic-defying stunts; wild celebrity collaborations and games; magical illusions and tricks; interactive moments within the Nickverse; and epic slimings. Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 will simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TVLand, CMT and MTV2.

Romeo Santos Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay Chart with Rosalia-Collab “El Pañuelo”

Romeo Santos is back at the top of the charts…

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American singer has logged a new career No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart as his Rosalia-collab “El Pañuelo” rules the February 4-dated ranking.

Romeo Santos & RosaliaThe song rises 3-1 with 9.9 million audience impressions, an 8% gain, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 26, according to Luminate.

Rosalía scores her third straight No. 1, and second through a bachata single. Thanks to “El Pañuelo,” Santos becomes the fourth artist to accumulate at least 18 No. 1s since Tropical Airplay chart launched in 1994. He joins Marc Anthony, who leads with 35, followed by Victor Manuelle (29), and Prince Royce (22).

The new No. 1 also marks the 10th time a pair-up comprising a female and a male on lead role has reached No. 1 since the chart’s inception.

Sebastian Yatra is the artist to beat…

The 28-year-old Colombian singer, songwriter and actor leads the pack of Premio Lo Nuestro award nominees with 10 nods.

Sebastian YatraThe 35th edition of the Premio Lo Nuestro awards will air live from the Miami-Dade Arena on February 23 via Univision.

Yatra’s nods include the coveted all-genre artist of the year, song of the year and album of the year categories.

He is also nominated for tour of the year — which returned this year by popular demand, according to organizers — and other pop categories. His PLN-nominated album Dharma (2022) peaked at No. 2 on Latin Pop Albums and No. 13 on Top Latin Albums, among other Billboard chart achievements.

Yatra is closely followed by Bad Bunny, Camilo, Becky G and Grupo Firme, who each garnered nine nods; urbano household names Maluma, Daddy Yankee and Ozuna take eight each.

Beloved couple Rauw Alejandro and Rosalía tie with seven, alongside Carin León, Karol G, Carlos Vives and J Balvin.

Aside from topping the list, Yatra will co-host the longest-running Latin music ceremony alongside television presenter and actress Alejandra Espinoza, Mexican pop superstar Paulina Rubio, and Adrián Uribe of Univision’s late-night show De Noche Pero Sin Sueño.

In total, 192 artists across diverse musical backgrounds are nominated within 39 categories. The nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro are based on Uforia radio airplay during the eligibility period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.

Streaming counts and the assessment of a committee of music and entertainment experts also factor in this list.

Rosalia Releases New Bilingual Track “LLYLM”

Rosalia is switching tongues…

The 30-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer has released the bilingual new single “LLYLM.”

Rosalia“El que quiero no me quiere como quiero que me quiera,” Rosalía sings over her signature handclap beat on the track created in part with Max Martin.

The opening verse of “LLYLM” is almost a tongue twister with lyrics that showcase despair after she realizes that the guy she likes doesn’t like her like she’d like him to like her.

She then effortlessly transitions into English, to get her point across in case something gets lost in translation.

“I don’t need honestly, baby, lie like you love me, lie like you love me,” she sings, soaring over a guitar-led tune fused with magnetic handclaps.

It’s Rosalia’s first single of the year following her 2022 Latin Grammy-winning album Motomami.
