Alvarez Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs Chart

The 31-year-old Mexican singer’s latest single “Y Asi Fue” has ascended to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs chart.

It’s Alvarez and his band’s fourth No. 1 song on the chart as “Y Asi Fue” jumps 4-1 in its 20th week.

The track climbs to 9.6 million audience impressions at the format (a 15 percent increase), with WNUA, Chicago leading in spins (68).

The song reaches a new peak on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, where it steps 7-6, aided by a 2 percent jump in digital sales (to 1,000 downloads).

On Billboard’s Regional Mexican Digital Songs chart, “Y Asi Fue” spends an eighth week at No. 1.

Valenzuela’s Latest Album Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart

The 23-year-old regional Mexican newcomer claims the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums with De Alumno A Maestro, selling 3,000 first-week copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Valenzuela, known as El Muchacho De La Voz Ronca (The Boy with the Husky Voice), also bullets at its No. 6 peak to date on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs with “Te Toco Perder” (5.6 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS).

Last year, he reached No. 32 on the chart with “Te Olvidare,” the title track from his debut album.

Valenzuela started his short musical career at the age of 12 in a group called Los Estudents. By age 13, he was teaching music at his school. Despite his young age, he has shared stages with Los Tucanes De Tijuana, Código FN, Chuy Lizárraga, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón and the late Jenni Rivera.

The 24-year-old Mexican American singer’s latest single climbs 6-1 on Billboard‘s Regional Mexican Songs chart, earning him his fourth No. 1 on the list.

Quien Se Anima” grows by 13 percent in its fifth week on the chart, to 7.5 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. The track also becomes his fifth to reach the top 10 on Hot Latin Songs chart, rising 11-9.

The track is the second single from Ortiz’s fourth studio album Archivos de Mi Vida, which debuted at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums chart in December.

Torres’ “Me Interesas” Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs Chart

The Mexican singer/songwriter has earned his first-ever No. 1 song on the Billboard charts.

This week, Torres’ “Me Interesas” earned greatest gainer honors as it reached the summit on the Regional Mexican Songs chart.

Torres’ 2011 album Al Frente y de Frente was a hit on the Billboard charts. He released the album on Del Records in association with Sony and released the song “El Tiempo Contigo” as a single.

A year prior, Torres was featured as a guest vocalist on the Gerardo Ortíz single “Comando del Diablo.”

Since then, Torres has seen his popularity rise, leading to his first chart-topping single.
