Focus Features‘ Sundance Film Festival acquisition of Annapurna/Plan B’s Kajillionaire, starring the 36-year-old Golden Globe-winning actress and formerJane the Virginstar, will now open in select theaters on September 25, a week later than originally anticipated.
The Miranda July directed film will hit PVOD around October 16. Despite that, the film’s marketing will be driven toward its theatrical release, and the movie will continue to be available to cinemas while it’s on PVOD.
Written and directed by July, Kajillionaire follows con artists Theresa and Robert, who spent 26 years training their only daughter, Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood), to swindle, scam and steal at every opportunity. During a desperate, hastily conceived heist, they charm a kind stranger, Melanie (Rodriguez), into joining their next scheme, completely shaking up Old Dolio’s routine. Her unlikely connection with Melanie begins to challenge Old Dolio’s odd and stoic reality — and she finds herself suddenly caught between the only family she has ever known and the prospect of total freedom.

Here is your logline: Con artists Theresa (Debra Winger) and Robert (Richard Jenkins) have spent 26 years training their only daughter, Old Dollo (Evan Rachel Wood), to swindle, scam and steal at every opportunity.
“She learned to forge before she learned to write,” Pops boasts of Old Dollo. “Actually, that’s how she did learn to write.”
During a desperate, hastily conceived heist, they charm a stranger (Rodriguez) into joining their next scam, only to have their entire world turned upside down.

The 31-year-old Cuban-Spanish actress is in talks to star opposite Ben Affleck in the film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel Deep Water.
The film, to be directed by Adrian Lyne, is described as an erotic thriller, right in the wheelhouse Lyne established with such blockbusters as Indecent Proposal, Fatal Attraction, and9 1/2 Weeks. The filmmaker has long been intrigued with this project, first setting it up with Fox 2000back in 2013. New Regency bought control of the property last year, and this gives them another plum project to go with the James Gray-directed Ad Astra with Brad Pitt, and the Robert Eggers-directedThe Lighthouse.
Affleck and de Armas are in negotiations to play Vic and Melinda Van Allen, an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy as Highsmith exposed the surface facade of American suburban life.
Zack Helm and Sam Levinson have adapted from the Highsmith novel.
Lyne is eyeing a November production start on Deep Water, which will be fully financed by New Regency.
Pending all the pieces falling into place, the plan is for the film to go through its deal with Fox/Disney.
de Armas is having her moment in Hollywood. She is about to begin shooting the Andrew Dominik-directed Netflix film Blonde, in which she plays iconic actress Marilyn Monroe, with talks going on for Adrien Brody to play Arthur Miller and Bobby Cannavale to play Joe DiMaggio in a fictionalized look at her life. Dominik worked for years on this project, and looked at many actresses for the role of Monroe. He was intrigued when he saw de Armas in Blade Runner 2049, and they worked long and hard with a dialect coach to lose her Cuban accented inflection for Monroe’s breathy delivery before a screen test pleased Netflix and Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. She follows that film with the James Bond 25 film.
The 42-year-old Chilean actor has been cast in If Beale Street Could Talk, director Barry Jenkins’ follow-up to his Oscar Best Picture winner Moonlight.
KiKi Layne stars in the film, which is based on the James Baldwin novel along with Stephan James, Colman Domingo, Brian Tyree Henry and Regina King.

Jenkins adapted the book and is producing via his Pastel label with Annapurna Pictures and Plan B.
Pascal, who starred as Oberyn Martell on HBO’s Game of Thrones, was most recently on the big screen in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
He’ll next appear in Sony Pictures’ The Equalizer 2.
Wisin & Yandel are reuniting… and it sounds so good!
The Puerto Rican reggaeton duo, who took a hiatus as a duo in late 2013, are back together.
Wisin & Yandel, winners of two Latin Grammys and one Grammy, have reunited for Yandel’s new single “Como Antes,” released on Friday, September 8, along with a music video.
On the new single — composed by Yandel, Wisin, Víctor Viera Moore and Marco Masis — “el duo de la historia” goes back to their roots, to their unique sound and street lyrics:
Those elements that have been lost with the evolution of the genre, but made them an iconic urban duo back in the early 2000’s.
“Como Antes” is part of Yandel’s new solo album, titled #Update, and definitely can build a new path for Wisin & Yandel.
On the Billboardcharts, the duo currently has ten No. 1 songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart (tied with Maná for the most ever for a duo/group), 21 top 10 songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart (the most ever for a duo/group), and even three hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
Besides the new single, Yandel is also ready to debut #Update on Friday. The set features 14 songs, and includes collabs with Luis Fonsi, Maluma, J Balvin, Zion & Lennox, Ozuna, Becky G, Bad Bunny and Plan B.

Daddy Yankee is officially in the same circle as some of Latin music’s superstars…
The 40-year-old Puerto Rican singer/rapper has earned his 50th hit on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, as “Hula Hoop” earns the Hot Shot Debut, arriving at No. 30 on the March 25-dated tally.
The reggaetonero becomes one of only seven acts, and the only urban artist, to have placed 50 or more songs on the 30-year-old chart.
Even more impressive, Daddy Yankee earns the feat quicker than anyone other act, netting his first 50 hits in 12 years, four months, and three weeks. (Luis Miguel had previously accomplished it the fastest: 16 years, five months, two weeks).
Daddy Yankee debuted on the Hot Latin Songs chart in 2004 with his international hit, “Gasolina.” In total, he has gathered 21 top 10s and five No. 1s on the list.
“Hula Hoop” bows with 3,000 downloads sold in the tracking week ending March 9, according to Nielsen Music, concurrently notching a No. 3 debut on the Latin Rhythm Digital Song Sales chart. Streaming totaled 740,000 in its first week, with 54 percent stemming from YouTube, where a lyric video has amassed 16 million global views since its release on March 2.
Elsewhere, the new single lands at No. 25 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, with 1 million audience impressions in the week ending March 12. WLZL, Washington DC, was the track’s biggest supporter, supplying 74 spins.

66, Los Tigres del Norte
58, Vicente Fernandez
57, Luis Miguel
53, Ednita Nazario
53, Intocable
50, Daddy Yankee
50, Marc Anthony
The new track originates from a remix for Daddy Yankee’s “Shaky Shaky,” featuring Nicky Jam and Plan B. Released in October, the remix included a “hula hoop” line, not present in the song’s original version, inspiring Yankee to derive a new song based on the catchy hook.
Meanwhile, Daddy Yankee remains at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs for a fifth straight week, as a featured guest on Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito.” The track earns its best streaming week yet, collecting over 8.8 million streams in the most recent tracking week (a four percent increase). It slips 52-56 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its eighth charting frame on the overall-genre ranking.

The huge span of acts highlights just how diverse the genre has become. Other confirmed acts to date include Zion & Lennox, Pipe Bueno, Farruko, J Alvarez, Plan B, Nely “El Arma Secreta”, Osuna, De la Ghetto, Almightly, Arcangel, Gente de Zona, Chacal, Osmani Garcia, Divan and CNCO.
Calibash will once again be produced by SBS Entertainment and presented by LaMusica. If you are finding for the wedding DJ then Wedding DJ Auckland is a best option for your wedding function.
“This is without doubt, a strong start to the future of Latin Entertainment in Las Vegas,” says Lucas Piña, SVP of SBS Entertainment. “It is a challenge, but we are confident with the quality performers that we will produce a successful January sold-out event, as we have done in New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities.”
Recent editions of the fest have also included major mainstream acts.
