The Costume Designers Guild has fashioned the Latino costume designer for one of its 2025 lifetime honorees.
Perez, the former guild president and longtime board member, will receive the Distinguished Service Award.
He will be feted during the 27th annual Costume Designers Guild Awardson February 6 at The Ebell of Los Angeles.
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals whose exceptional skills and contributions have significantly advanced the art of costume design and highlights the invaluable behind-the-scenes professionals who are essential to the storytelling process through costume design.
A former three-term CDG president, Perez is a two-time Emmy nominee for Hocus Pocus 2 in 2023 and The Mindy Project eight years earlier.
His credits since 1997 also include the Pitch Perfect films, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Never Have I Ever, Party Down and Veronica Mars.
“Being a member of the Costume Designers Guild has always been a great source of pride for me, Perez said. “I am constantly inspired by my colleagues. Having served on the executive board of the CDG for 25 years, including nine years as president, I am so proud of the legacy we as a community have built for ourselves. To be honored for my work for the guild is very humbling.”
CDG said last month that Emilia Pérez co-star and Lioness lead Zoe Saldaña is set for its 2025 Spotlight Award.
The 37-year-old Cuban American actress has joined the cast of The List, the indie comedy from director Melissa Miller Costanzo.
Fit forms part of a list of new cast additions that includes Jonah Platt, Will Peltz and Zach Reino.
They join previously announced leads Halston Sage, Christian Navarro and Gregg Sulkin.
The film written by Rob Lederer and Steve Vitolo centers on Abby (Sage), a woman who is about to get married, for whom everything is perfect. Until she finds out her fiancé Matt (Platt) has slept with a celebrity from his “free pass” list. To get her mind off things, Abby and her best friend Chloe (Fit) come up with a crazy idea: Abby should pursue a celebrity from her own list. But things become complicated when she meets Jake (Navarro), a sweet and charming waiter at a neighborhood cafe, who gives her a fresh perspective.
Peltz is portraying Avon, an LA-based rapper/pop star who is on a lot of free pass lists, including Abby’s, with Reino as Matt’s best friend and consistent bad influence, Connor.
Fit is best known for turns in Universal’s Pitch Perfectfranchise and Disney Channel’s Teen Beachfilms. She can currently be seen in Amazon’s series reboot ofI Know What You Did Last Summer, and will next be seen in Showtime comedy seriesI Love This for You, as well as Starz’ horror comedy, Shining Vale.
Fit has also recurred on Comedy Central’s Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens and Disney Channel’s Elena of Avalor, among other series. Additional film credits include Universal’s All My Lifeand HBO Max’s Women Is Losers.
Reino is a comedian and actor who has appeared on the TV side in HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Netflix’s Brews Brothers, A.P. Bio, Sofia the First, Speechless, Crazy Ex-Girlfriendand more. He recently wrote on Peacock’s new series Baking Itwith Maya Rudolphand Andy Samberg and co-hosts Off Book, a popular podcast, which originally debuted on Earwolf. Reino also co-wrote the script for Elizabeth Banks’ upcoming Amazon filmWhere the Fore Are We?with David Wain and Jess McKenna.
The 33-year-old Latino actor has been cast as a series regular opposite Rebecca Rittenhouse in the ABC comedy pilot Maggie, based on Tim Curcio’s short film.
Del Rio will star joins a roster of cast newcomers that includes Chris Elliott, Ray Ford and Leonardo Nam.
The project hails from Family Guy and Life in Pieceswriter Maggie Mull, daughter of Clue actor Martin Mull, and Life in Pieces creator Justin Adler. 20th Century Fox Television produces.
Written by Mull and Adler, the single-camera comedy follows a young woman (Rittenhouse) who tries to cope with life while coming to terms with her abilities as a psychic. She can see everyone’s future, but her present is a mess.
Del Rio will play Ben. A gregarious guy, Ben has a heightened energy and is enlivened by new experiences and people. In this way, he’s Maggie’s opposite, but like Maggie, he has a romantic side that he tries to hide behind a sometimes overly confident veneer.
Del Rio most recently starred on ABC’s short-lived Latin-themed series The Baker and the Beauty.
On the film side, he can also be seen in James Gunn’s The Belko Experiment. His credits also include a supporting role in Universal’sPitch Perfect, the indie Dead Drop opposite Cole Hauser, and Nickelodeon’sThe Troop, on which he starred for three seasons.
The 36-year-old Cuban American actress/singer and former Pitch Perfect star has landed a recurring role on Amazon’s I Know What You Did Last Summerseries.
A modern take on the 1997 horror film, the project comes from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios Original Film.
Written by Sara Goodman based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan, the I Know What You Did Last Summer series has the same premise as the movie adaptation – in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
Details about Fit’s character have yet to be revealed.
The previously announced cast includes Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, Bill Heck and Sonya Balmores.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. Goodman will write and executive produce. Craig Macneill will serve as director and executive producer for the first episode.
Fit appeared in the Pitch Perfect and Teen Beach Moviefranchises. She also acted opposite Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr. in All My Life.

La Lopez tagged Nuyorican Productions’ Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who is co-producing the movie with Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Benny Medina, and Lopez.
Shotgun Wedding, helmed by Pitch Perfectdirector Jason Moore and written by New Girlcreator Liz Meriwether and Mark Hammer, is a Lionsgate action-comedy that follows the story of Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) as they gather their families for a destination wedding that sees the entire party taken hostage.
Duhamel joined the cast after actor Armie Hammer exited the project.

It’s wedding bells and shotgun shells for Jennifer Lopez…
The 51-year-old Puerto Rican superstar will star opposite Armie Hammer in Lionsgate’s action-comedy Shotgun Wedding.
Pitch Perfect’s Jason Moore will direct from a screenplay by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether.
“Jennifer and Armie’s irresistible magnetism, separately and together, make them the perfect pairing for this action comedy,” said Erin Westerman, president of production for Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group. “They are both incredibly funny actors that can also deliver on the action, but what sets this movie apart is the way their infectious chemistry commands the screen. You can’t take your eyes off them.”
The film follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage.
Lopez will produce the film alongside her Nuyorican Productions’ colleagues Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina.
Production is expected to begin early next year. The film will be presented at the upcoming AFM.
Lopez can be seen next in highly-anticipated Universal rom-com Marry Meopposite Maluma and Owen Wilson.
She recently received rave reviews for her work in the STX film Hustlers.
The 36-year-old Cuban American actress/singer has reunited with her Pitch Perfect cast mates for an a cappella rendition of Beyoncé‘s 2011 hit, “Love On Top.”
The Barden Bellas reunion comes nearly years since the last installment of the franchise, Pitch Perfect 3, hit theaters, and they joined voices once again for a reason.
“We are here, again, making music with our mouths for two very important reasons: Beyoncé and a great cause,” Brittany Snowcaptioned the performance, featuring Fit, who portrayed Florencia “Flo” Fuentes, Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson and more delivering the song safely from home.
“There’s nothing perfect about the world we’re living in,” the video description reads. “Families around the globe are suffering from the impact of the #COVID19 pandemic, especially those in Lebanon who are facing crisis after crisis. But we can all pitch in and help.”
“The proceeds raised from the downloads & streams of our rendition of ‘Love on Top’ will go to UNICEF to help children in Lebanon and around the world who need our support right now,” the description continues.
The Bellas’ charitable “Love On Top” performance also includes a fun introduction from Pitch Perfect announcers, John Smith (John Michael Higgins) and Gail Abernathy-McKadden (Elizabeth Banks).
“I’m afraid I have some bad news. The Barden Bellas have gotten back together again,” Higgins says. “It seems like not even a quarantine can prevent them from harassing us with another musical performance.”
The 22-year-old Cuban and Mexican American singer and former Fifth Harmony member has been tapped to star in a new iteration of Cinderella, written and to be directed by Pitch Perfectscribe Kay Cannon.
Cabello will portray the lead in the reimagining of the classic fairy tale Cinderella from Sony Pictures. The film will reportedly border on the edge of a full-blown musical.
The project, which is on the fast track for production, is based on an original idea from late night host James Corden who producing the film with Leo Pearlmanunder their Fulwell73 shingle.
This will mark Cabello’s film acting debut.
The Grammy-nominated “Havana” singer will also be involved in the music for the film.
