Valdés will star alongside Corbin Bernsen, Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux.

The series, now in production, hails from Veep executive producers Alex Gregory, Peter Huyck, David Mandel and Frank Rich.

Created and written by Gregory and Huyck and directed by Mandel, White House Plumbers is based part on public records and the book Integrity by Egil Bud Krogh and Matthew Krogh. It tells the true story of how Richard Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt (Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Theroux), accidentally toppled the presidency they zealously were trying to protect.

Bernsen will play Richard Kleindienst, the Harvard-educated attorney general that is tainted by the ITT scandal and a contentious confirmation process. He refuses to use his power to shield the Plumbers from investigators.

Valdés plays Felipe De Diego, a Cuban-American real estate broker and yachtsman who participates in every Plumbers operation except the one which ends in their arrest.

Harrelson and Theroux executive produce White House Plumbers with Gregory, Huyck and Mandel. The limited series is a co-production between HBO and wiip.

Valdés’ previous credits include El juicio del PDO, Con Cariñito and 90 millas.

Salazar Cast in NBC’s Comedy “The Pro”

There’s no denying Rosa Salazar is a pro, especially after landing her next television project.

The Latina actress, who rose to acclaim on NBC’s family drama Parenthood, has been cast in the network’s Rob Lowe-Rob Riggle comedy The Pro, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy, which is set in and around a tennis and golf club pro shop, stars Lowe as Ben Bertrahm, a former doubles champion who is reunited with his ex-partner Bobby Welch (Riggle) after a public feud that left them both floundering in life.

Salazar will play Jamie, the naive girl with a big heart who works at the pro shop as a receptionist. The character with an edge has romantic feelings for the club’s snack bar himbo, Chad, and has had her heart broken a few times.

Her recent credits include HBO‘s Hello Ladies, Ben and Kate and American Horror Story. She also co-starred in Fox‘s family assassin drama Boomerang last pilot season.

King of the Hill‘s Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory will pen the script for The Pro.

Key & Peele‘s Colton Dunn co-stars as Lewis, the club’s head engineer and bookie.

Perez Starring in ABC;s Comedy Pilot “An American Education”

Rosie Perez is headed back to the halls of learning

The 49-year-old Puerto Rican Oscar-nominated actress, dancer and community activist will star opposite Jack Whitehall in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot An American Education.

Rosie Perez

Based on the BBC Three series Bad Education, British actor-comedian Whitehall – who created and starred in the original series – is reprising his role as Alfie Wickers, now a British transplant and an unorthodox young teacher in the San Diego public school system. Alfie loves his students but his youthful, often naive enthusiasm and unconventional methods put him at odds with the test-obsessed administrators.

Perez will portray Rita Gomez, the school’s hard-assed Vice Principal, a terrifying force that grew up in a bad neighborhood who intimidates Alfie by her no-nonsense, bullish, self-righteous, by-the-numbers approach to ruling the school, or how she sees it, her kingdom.

Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory wrote the script from a story they co-wrote with Whitehall and Ben Cavey.

Perez, who got her big break in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing in 1988, last appeared on television on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie and Fox’s The Cleveland Show in 2012.
