Mariah Carey Teaming Up with Anderson .Paak on New Music

Mariah Carey has lined up a new collaboration…

The 56-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning songstress is working on new music with Anderson .Paak.

Mariah CareyDuring a recent appearance on the social media series Track Star — where guests try to identify mystery songs —39-year-old singer-songwriter and producer .Paak correctly guessed Carey’s “Always Be My Baby,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1996.

“This would be Mariah Carey. The Mariah Carey,” said .Paak, who was wearing a T-shirt featuring Mariah’s face. “I remember in like 5th grade, or something, watching the music videos and having a huge crush. We’re working on some music on her new album.”

News of a musical collaboration between .Paak and Carey comes after the two were seen holding hands after the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March 2025, People reports. .Paak helped the superstar singer onto the stage as she accepted the icon award at the ceremony.

“Thank you iHeart for this incredible honor,” Carey said during her speech. “As a kid, I used to listen to my favorite artist on the radio and dream of being on the airwave myself. Now, for those of you who may not know what airwaves are, think of it as the non-Wifi version of streaming, OK?”

Around the same time, the pair were reportedly also spotted leaving a restaurant together in West Hollywood. Prior to that, .Paak and Carey were seen holding hands following the conclusion of her Christmas tour in December 2024, according to People.

Carey, recently nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, confirmed in an early April interview with the Associated Press that she’s working on a new album, but she didn’t share additional details. Her most recent studio album, Caution, was released in 2018.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Emancipation of Mimi, Carey announced a special expanded edition of the album.

The upcoming release will include bonus tracks, unreleased remixes and collaborations, instrumentals, a cappella versions, and live recordings.

The two-disc vinyl edition is set to drop through Def Jam Records/UMe on May 30.

DaniLeigh Releases New Single “Dead to Me” While Moving Past DaBaby Drama

It’s life after dead to DaniLeigh

The 27-year-old Dominican American singer, who is attempting to move on from her turbulent relationship with ex-boyfriend DaBaby, has released the new single “Dead to Me” as she focuses on her music career.

DaniLeigh“You know you dead to me/ Never kept your word with what you said to me / You know you dead to me/ I ain’t got no more time for toxic energy,” she sings in the chorus.

In a moving new interview with iHeartRadio’s Angie Martinez that premiered on People, DaniLeigh — born Danielle Leigh Curiel — opened up about motherhood, DaBaby and “Dead to Me.” Most notably, she reflected on the Instagram Live she had with the “Rockstar” rapper in November, which she described as a “very bad time” in her life.

In the since-deleted video, the former couple were seen having a heated argument while DaniLeigh nursed their newborn daughter, who is now eight months old.

According to Rolling Stone, DaBaby and DaniLeigh exchanged insults, with the latter claiming that the rapper hadn’t been around since their daughter was born, and that he was now trying to make her leave his apartment.

The next day, DaBaby went on Instagram Live again, where the duo continued to argue about their relationship. According to Rolling Stone and local CBS affiliate WBTV, the rapper told law enforcement on both days that Curiel had assaulted him; she was charged with simple assault.

“It was very triggering, very sad,” the 27-year-old star told Martinez of the situation. “I wish it didn’t happen because I don’t want my baby to see that later on in life.”

The “Easy” singer says the way she’ll explain the video to her child “depends on the type of person she grows up to be.”

“The only responsibility I have is to raise her to be a strong woman. She’ll feel how she feels, she’s her own person,” Curiel explained. DaniLeigh also shared that it was “very selfish” to get into that fight, and that DaBaby has not apologized. “He’s like that though,” she said of her ex-boyfriend.

“I’ve learned to love myself so much more,” she said of her mindset since the end of the relationship. “Because I feel like I really did love him so much that I was just giving it all to him … I didn’t even focus on my career.”

“Dead to Me” is set to appear on her upcoming EP, My Side, which doesn’t have a release date yet.

Carlos PenaVega & His Big Time Rush Band Mates Release New Single “Call It Like I See It”

Carlos PenaVega is calling it like he sees it…

The 32-year-old Spanish, Venezuelan and Dominican American singer and his Big Time Rush mates have released “Call It Like I See It,” their first single in eight years.

Carlos PenaVega, Big Time Rush,

On the sunny track, the quartet — who got their start on their eponymous Nickelodeon sitcom from 2009 to 2013 — sing over horn blasts and shimmery synths.

“Pull up on you, that’s an intro/ Just can’t help it when you look like that/ Spinning like a disco/ Make me wanna make a demo track,” Logan Henderson sings on the opening verse before PenaVega jumps in to croon, “Got me feelin’ like I’m retro/ Leave ya friends in the friend zone, right?/ You can meet me in the end zone, right?/ Let’s keep it simple, baby.”

In an interview with People, the boy band opened up about what it was like getting back into the studio together nearly a decade after their 2013 breakup.

“We definitely had some rough patches, had some issues kind of finding our sound and knowing the vision for the music. But the best part was whenever we all came together…we just went in with open hearts, open minds about the music and a little bit of tequila,” Henderson quipped.

Kendall Schmidt added, “[What’s different] from 10 years ago is that we all have grown individually. We all have different strengths. And now I think that we’re much more open to playing off each other’s strengths and it’s really kind of helped our relationship.”

After first reuniting via Zoom during the pandemic in June 2020, Big Time Rush announced a pair of reunion shows in New York and Chicago last July. The boy band’s last proper studio release was their third album 24/Seven, which bowed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2013.

Machado to Pen Book About Her Negative Experiences with Donald Trump

Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado is ready to write the world’s wrongs…

The 38-year-old former-beauty-queen-turned-actress/singer is planning to write a book about the “abuses of power” and “racism” she suffered at the hands of Donald Trump in the mid-‘90s during her reign.

Alicia Machado

Machado was crowned Miss Universe in 1996, the fourth woman from Venezuela to win title, and soon after made headlines for concerns about her increasing weight.

When Machado was crowned she weighed 118 pounds, and eventually the 5-foot-9 beauty queen reached 160 pounds. Pageant officials apparently found the weight unacceptable and threatened to revoke her crown if she didn’t trim down.

Months before the 1997 Miss Universe pageant, in which Machado was due to hand the crown over to her successor, Donald Trump — who partly owns the Miss Universe Organization — called in fitness expert Edward Jackowski to help Machado lose weight through a rigorous diet and exercise program, all of which was documented by photographers and camera crews.

Trump told People magazine back in 1997, “We want her to stay as Miss Universe and she is working on her problem. When you win a beauty pageant, people don’t think you’re going to go from 118 to 160 in less than a year, and you really have an obligation to stay in a perfect physical state.” The real estate mogul also reportedly called Machado “an eating machine” during an interview on the Howard Stern show.

Machado, then 20 years old, told People at the time, “Before Miss Universe I was a normal girl, but my life has had big changes. I travel to many countries, eat different foods.”

The beauty queen has since been very vocal about her experience with Trump, calling him “a detestable being” as recently as June to Mexican newspaper La Reforma.

In a formal statement issued earlier this week, Machado’s reps declare that she “will share all the details, abuses of power, arrogance, and racism on Donald Trump’s part that she suffered in the flesh, issues that Alicia will share for the first time and at the appropriate time so that the whole world can see who this person really is, someone who has gained even more notoriety recently for his attacks on the Mexican people.”

Machado currently stars in Televisa’s new Spanish telenovela Lo Imperdonable. The statement mentioned that after her contractual duties with the soap opera are over, Machado will announce more details about the book. Until then, “she won’t be saying anything else on the matter.”
