The official music video for the 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar’s breakthrough single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” has surpassed the 1 billion views mark on YouTube.
It’s an impressive accomplishment for Cardi B given the video cost only $15,000 to produce, according to the Grammy-winning rapper.
“Bodak Yellow” is Cardi B’s third video to log at least a billion views on YouTube, if we’re including guest spots: She first achieved the feat as the featured artist on Maroon 5‘s “Girls Like You” video, and then again in 2019 when her Bad Bunny and J Balvin collaboration “I Like It” joined the 1 billion views club on YouTube. All three songs previously topped the Billboard Hot 100.
Most recently, Cardi B slid into the top 15 of the Hot 100 via her featured verse on Normani‘s “Wild Side.” Normani stole the show in the music video for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s “WAP,” and Cardi returned the favor by hopping on Normani’s Aaliyah-tipping “Wild Side” and appearing in the video, which boasts chains and killer choreography.
Cardi B isn’t afraid to show her wild side… or her back side.
The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar has joined voices with former Fifth Harmony member Normani for the bold new single “Wild Side” and its equally cheeky music video.
Normaniand Cardi B leave nothing to the imagination in their brief, but sizzling scenes together in the Tanu Muino-directed clip.
Normani and her dancers go through various scene changes before a nude Cardi B makes her appearance, and you better believe things get steamy.
“Look, dímelo, turn me ’round/ Treat me like a watch, bust me down/ On the kitchen floor, right on that towel/ It’s my d— and I want it now, ow/ Tell me how you want it/ Put me on my back or my stomach/ Baby, let me blow it like a trumpet/ I can do it all, I can prolly suck a watermelon through a straw,” Cardi raps while hugging a chain in the raw.
No sooner, a naked Normani slides in and the two women embrace in nothing but long wigs covering their exposed bodies on a green, fountain-like set that lets loose a shower of water on them as the setting shifts one other time.
“I had already been in rehearsal for about three weeks preparing for the video when Cardi heard the record for the first time,” Normani said in a statement. “She really showed up for me and brought this record to life by simply doing what Cardi does best. I love that woman down and I’m forever grateful.”
The exciting collab comes nearly one year after Normani appeared in the music video for Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion‘s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “WAP.”
The 28-year-old half-Dominican America rap superstar has joined voices with Normanifor the surprise new single, “Wild Side.”
The artists announced the track on Wednesday, revealing in a series of tweets that their collaboration will drop on Friday morning (July 16).
They also unwrapped the single’s very revealing cover art, which finds both women reclining on a giant pearly shell in the nude with just their long flowing hair covering them up.
A video for the track will also be released.
When Cardi B found out the pair were trending after the release of the news, the “Up” rapper made a prophetic promise: “The world is ready for Normani supremacy!!!!”
Normani, who is still working away on her anticipated debut solo album, was clearly excited about the superstar summit, posting a pair of teary-eyed emoji after a fan offered up a cute tweet with throwback photos of “baby Normani” and “Baby Cardi.”
She also re-tweeted an old video of Cardi B giving the former Fifth Harmony singer props, throwing up a string of heart emoji and one more welling-up-with-tears one for good measure to show appreciation for Cardi’s longtime support. Cardi was just as excited, reacting to Normani’s reaction to watching their “Wild” video again — in which Normani humbly tweeted, “sis what the actual f—” — by tweeting, “Ommmmgggg I’m nervous!!!!! But then again I’m not YOU DID THAT!!!!!!! I hope and you better be proud of yourself!!”
To date, Normani has released five singles, including “Motivation,” the Sam Smith duet “Dancing With a Stranger” and the Khalid collaboration “Love Lies,” but has not yet announced the release date for her first solo full-length.
The 27-year-old Spanish singer-songwriter is set to take part in the second edition of Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty brand fashion show.

The 27-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar has released the music video for “WAP,” her twerk-tastic new collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.
The music video for the thumping new track takes place in and around a luxurious mansion that has a fountain out front featuring a bootylicious fountain.
“I just want to let y’all know, I wanna give y’all the heads up, the music video is going to be the censored version of the song, because the song is so nasty that YouTube was like, ‘Hold on, wait a minute, someone might be too Goddamn nasty,” Cardi B revealed on Instagram prior to the release, encouraging fans to listen to the full “nasty” version on streaming services.
The girl power-fueled video for “WAP” features cameos by the likes of Spanish singing sensation Rosalia, in full body red latex and a Spanish matador’s montera hat with the braids to match her hair color, Kylie Jenner and Normani to rising artists like Sukihana, Rubi Rose and Mulatto.
“I wanted a lot of different females, not just female rappers. I wanted different…A lot of different people. And y’all going to see it on the music video as well, from models to influencers and everything,” she told Zane Lowe in an Apple Music interview about the visual. “And I really wanted the video to be very sexy, very clean, very nice, very cut. All right, we need some female artists, rappers. And I’m like, ‘These are the girls that I personally like. That I like they music. That I really feel they are going to go mainstream, to me.’ All the girls right here, there’s different things that I like about them.”
“WAP” is Cardi B’s first music release of the year. It follows “South of the Border,” her collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello, released in July 2019; “Yes,” her collaboration with Fat Joe and Anuel AA, released in September 2019; and “Writing on the Wall,” her collaboration with French Montana, Post Malone and Rvssian, released in September 2019.

The 27-year-old Colombian singerhas unveiled a star-studded remix of “Body Count” featuring Normani and Kehlani.
The strummy sing-along to self-love finds Reyez among the company of women in no need of the companionship of a mediocre man. Normani flexes a silky double-time flow as she demands “some f-cking respect” and Kehlani — who continues her months-long winning streak of featured verses — sings about finding her self-love in the company of another woman.
Produced by legendary R&B hitmaker Babyface and the Rascals, the remix will feature on her sophomore EP Being Human In Public, which has already spawned “Apple Juice” and “Sola.”
Earlier this month, Reyez gave a debut performance at the MTV VMAs and made a cameo on the Calvin Harris–Sam Smith jam “Promises.”
Reyez will be a fixture at music festivals nationwide during the summer, including this weekend’s Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn and Jay-Z‘s Made in America Festival over Labor Day weekend.
Being Human in Public is due out sometime this fall on FMLY/Island.
