Christina Aguilera to Release Her Spanish Language EP “La Fuerza” This Week

Christina Aguilera is sharing her strength this week…

The 41-year-old half-Ecuadorian American Grammy-winning singer will release her highly anticipated Spanish-language EP La Fuerza on Friday, January 21.

Aguilera — who had been teasing her upcoming collaboration with Ozuna — also unveiled La Fuerza‘s tracklist via Instagram.

The Ozuna-assisted “Santo,” set to drop on Thursday, is part of the EP, along with girl-power anthem “Pa’ Mis Muchachas,” which features Nathy PelusoNicki Nicole and Becky G. “The first chapter,” Aguilera teased in the caption.

La Fuerza is the first of her three-part album, set to be released more than 20 years after her first Spanish effort, Mi Reflejo. That release debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart in September 2000, and remained there for 19 weeks.

The album also peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“It’s been a project that I wanted to follow up for so long, but I’m so happy that it’s happening now as a grown woman,” Aguilera previously told Billboard. “Having been a mother, having experienced the career I have, I bring a different view and set of passions. Now it’s coming from a deeper perspective and wanting to explore.”

“It can be intimidating and scary to put yourself out there in a way you know will be challenging. I don’t write in Spanish the way I do in English, but I know my heart,” she continued. “It’s a layered journey I’ve been on but now having kids of my own, I want them to see that mommy doesn’t know everything. I’m still learning too and I’m not going to back down from something I’m truly passionate about because I’m scared or I’m afraid of what people will think. This is me being me on my own journey of life. I could cry about it. It means a lot to me.”

Christina AguileraAguilera shared the news on social media, posting a photo of the two artists in red outfits and a caption with the song’s title, release date, and pre-save link. “‘Santo’ feat. Ozuna,” she wrote across her social media accounts, revealing that the collaboration drops on January 20.

“Santo” will be part of her Spanish-language EP, La Fuerza, the first of her three-part album, set to be released more than 20 years after her first Spanish effort, Mi Reflejo, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart in September 2000, and remained there for 19 weeks.

The album also peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Tiago PZK Signs Recording Deal with Warner Music Latina, via Partnership with Grand Move Records

Tiago PZK has a new recording deal…

The 20-year-old soulful Argentine singer and rapper, who has already placed three songs on the Billboard Global Excl U.S. chart, has signed a recording deal with Warner Music Latina, via a partnership with indie Grand Move Records.

Tiago PZK

Tiago PZK, whose real name is Tiago Uriel Pacheco, uses the suffix PZK in honor of his freestyle crew in Argentina, but his music defies categorization, often shifting from R&B and pop to rap.

Moreover, instead of resorting to the sexually explicit lyrics that define so many reggaetón hits today, Tiago’s themes lean more toward love and loss and his own journey from the housing projects of Buenos Aires to nascent fame.

His breakout single “Sola,” for example, talks about his childhood and his mother’s abuse at the hands of his father.

Tiago PZK’s signing to Warner makes him the youngest in a string of urban-leaning acts defining a new Argentina music scene that includes acts like Nicki Nicole, Duki, Maria Becerra, Cazzu and Paulo Londra who are making waves internationally.

News of his deal coincides with this week’s release of the remix of “Entre Nosotros” with fellow Argentines Killah, Nicki Nicole and Maria Becerra.

The original track alongside Killah, which has garnered more than 212 million views on YouTube, was No 1 on Argentina’s Billboard charts entered the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart last year. The remix is this week’s highest entry on Spotify’s Top Songs Global chart at No. 44.

“For me, having signed with Warner was a very big step professionally; it is good to be able to enlarge the team and know that much bigger projects are coming with the support of a company full of good and hardworking people, willing to give it their all in order for us to take the world ahead. I am very happy and grateful,” said Tiago PZK.

Tiago began gaining notoriety around 2016 with his participation in local rap battles in Argentina and his self-released track, “Andamo en la Cima.” In 2019, he signed to indie SyP Recors in Argentina, eventually catching the eye of concert promoter Phil Rodriguez, the CEO of Move Concerts, one of Latin America’s biggest indie promoters. Rodriguez signed Tiago to management and to his new Grand Move Records label.

Moving to a major label was the next step for an act with increasing international traction. Alejandro Duque, president of Warner Music Latina, set his sights on Tiago since he was appointed to his post in mid 2021. Now, the new deal includes both future and past works.

“He is a young artist with a great ambition and a natural talent,” Duque said in a statement. “His lyrics resonate with a massive audience. At his young age and short musical career Tiago PZK, has managed to make his music known not only in Argentina but has placed several of his singles on the Billboard and Spotify Global 200 Charts. Our goal at Warner is to lead Tiago PZK to conquer the world and become a global superstar.”

“Our decision to close with Warner Latin was not taken lightly,” says Rodríguez, a veteran executive who has worked in some capacity with most Latin industry leaders. “The deal closer was the enthusiasm and commitment that Alejandro Duque and the Warner Latina team transmitted to us at every step on the negotiations. Tiago PZK is a unique and amazing artist that truly is “the real deal.”

Last year, Tiago signed a publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing Latin America.

Nicki Nicole & Maria Becerra Bring Girl Power to Tiago PZK & LIT Killah’s “Entre Nosotros” Remix

Nicki Nicole and Maria Becerra are bringing some girl power to Tiago PZK’s most recent single…

The 21-year-old Argentine rapper and singer and 21-year-old compatriot have joined voices with Tiago PZK (real name: Tiago Uriel Lezcano) and LIT Killah for the official remix of “Entre Nosotros.”

Nicki Nicole, Maria Becerra, LIT Killah, Tiago PZK

Released in the summer of 2021 via Mad Move Records/Warner Music Chile, the original track is a collaboration between Tiago and LIT, which has garnered more than 212 million views on YouTube and entered the Billboard Global 200 chart last year.

Now, the two artists have reeled in fellow Argentine stars Nicole and Becerra for a fiery remix.

Produced by Big One, the new version keeps its sultry R&B and rap fusion intact, but each artist shines in their own right with their powerhouse vocals.

“Entre Nosotros” is about a person who’s struggling to forget an ex-lover.

In the music video, helmed by director Ballve and producer Anestesia, all four artists appear to be battling their internal feelings and lying on stretchers inside a laboratory as a scientist experiments with each of their minds.

“Entre Nosotros’ is easily the most iconic song that I have until now,” Tiago, a former Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise, previously said. “It not only continues to top the charts in my country but it also opened many doors for me. Many artists and producers are interested in collaborating with me.”

Christina Aguilera Releases Spanish Female Empowerment Anthem “Pa Mis Muchachas,” Featuring Becky G, Nathy Peluso & Nicki Nicole

Christina Aguilera is celebrating all muchachas

Singing in Spanish for the first time in nearly a decade, the 40-year-old has released the female empowerment anthem “Pa Mis Muchachas,” featuring Becky G, Nathy Peluso and Nicki Nicole.

Christina Aguilera

Aguilera teased the single earlier in the week with a sultry snippet of the music video before confirming the song’s title and three collaborators.

“I am proud to reveal mi primera canción from a body of work that lives so closely to my heart,” she wrote on her socials. “And these beautiful, strong and talented women are joining forces with me for this first Guaracha.”

In the spring, Xtina revealed that she was working on her “overdue” second Spanish-language album more than 20 years after 2000’s Mi Reflejo, which peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and ruled the Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts.

“It’s a big deal right now and it’s really nostalgic and part of my Latin culture and history,” she told Billboard in an interview in July. “So this is really, really fun to get into some family roots and explore who I am now as a woman musically. Things are coming from a different approach.”

Nicki Nicole Presents NPR “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert”

It’s a tiny moment for Nicki Nicole

Joined by an 11-member band, the 21-year-old Argentine rapper and singer presented her NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” this week, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Nicki Nicole

The rising Argentine star gave a select performance of her hits a different twist, kicking off with a tango-infused version of “Colocao.”

She continues to flaunt her effortless swagger and soulful, powerhouse vocals in tracks such as “Mala Vida,” “Wapo Traketero” and “Freestyle.”

Nicki also performed her stripped-down, ultra-personal ballad “Parte de Mi” and wrapped up with the groovy, chachacha “Baby.”

J Balvin Kicks Off NPR’s “El Tiny” Home Concert Series in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

Size doesn’t matter for J Balvin

The 36-year-old Colombian singer has kicked off NPR‘s “El Tiny” series in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

J Balvin

Balvin’s performance on September 16 was the first of 10 “El Tiny” concerts that will feature Latin artists like Camila CabelloPrince RoyceSech, Nicki Nicole and Silvana Estrada. The series will run through October 15, the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Backed by the Brooklyn Bridge in the middle of the East River, the chart-topping artist kicks off his 15-minute mini concert, singing new tracks off his latest and most personal album yet, Jose. He kicks off the set with “Vestido” and goes on to perform “Que Locura,” “OTRO FILI,” “F40” and closes with fan favorite “In Da Getto.”

“Even though we have some of the biggest names in Latin music scheduled, our ‘El Tiny’ takeover of the Tiny Desk (home) concerts is more than just entertainment,” Felix Contreras, host of NPR Music‘s Alt.Latino, said in a statement. “I firmly believe that music has always been an accurate barometer of what’s going on in the Latin communities here in this country. Reggaetón hip-hop, soul, Afro Latino, jazz — it’s all reflected in our lineup and shows how diverse our listening habits, and our community, is.”

The nine-time finalist at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards recently spoke to Billboard about his 24-track set released on September 10. “The album was made thinking about myself and what I like to do,” Balvin said. “When I realized I didn’t have to box myself into a concept, like I did with Colores, I said, ‘The concept is me.'”

Sabrina Claudio’s “Frozen” Among Songs Featured on Barack Obama’s Official Summer Playlist

Sabrina Claudio has received the (former) presidential seal of approval…

In keeping with past tradition, Barack Obama is sharing some of his favorite summer jams, with the 24-year-old Puerto Rican & Cuban American singer/songwriter making the list.

Sabrina Claudio

Claudio’s single “Frozen,” featured on her album About Time, is among four singles featuring Latinx artists to make the former U.S. president’s summer playlist.

Leave the Door Open,” the chart-topping single from Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak‘s new duo Silk Sonic; “Águas de Março” by Elis Regina and Antônio Carlos Jobim; and Rochy RD, Myke Towers and Nicki Nicole’s “Ella No Es Tuya (Remix)” also made the list.

“With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer,” Obama captioned his tweet. “Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately—it’s a mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between.”

It’s no secret that Obama is a huge lover of music. Over the years, he has shared numerous music playlists, including his recent shower-themed list on Spotify, which features Bruce Springsteen‘s “Born in the U.S.A.

“I sing in the shower, I sing outside of the shower. I am unembarrassed about singing,” Obama said during his Renegades: Born in the USA podcast with The Boss in March. “My daughters and my wife sometimes roll their eyes.”

Last December, the former president also shared his “Favorite Music of 2020” list — featuring picks from Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, Lil Baby and Megan Thee Stallion — as well as a playlist of music that inspired him throughout his presidency.

Nicki Nicole Teams Up with Lunay for New Single “No Toque Mi Naik”

Nicki Nicole is untouchable

The 20-year-old Argentine rapper and singer has joined voices with Lunay for the catchy new single “No Toque Mi Naik.”

Nicki Nicole & Lunay

The single follows her previous collabo, the Rochy RD and Myke Towers single “Ella No Es Tuya (Remix).”

Co-produced by Los Honeyboos, Mauro DeTommaso and Facu Yalve, the track perfectly meshes both artist’s flows over a sick beat that fuses Latin trap, reggaeton and bugalú undertones.

The music video, directed by Juanky Alvarez and filmed in Puerto Rico, shows both artists enjoying the island on Motocross motorcycles.

Nicki Nicole and Puerto Rican artist met in Miami, according to Lunay, and their chemistry “flowed naturally.”
