Stephanie Beatriz Joins Voice Cast of Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part”

Stephanie Beatriz has landed a Sweet role… 

The 37-year-oldArgentine actress and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has joined the voice cast of Warner Bros.’ The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part alongside Broad City‘s Arturo Castro.

Beatriz will portray new character Sweet Mayhem; Castro will play new character Ice Cream Cone.

Also confirmed to return is Alison Brie as Unikitty and Nick Offerman as Metal Beard.

They join previously announced cast members from the first movie Chris Pratt (Emmet), Elizabeth Banks (Lucy), Will Arnett (Lego Batman) as well as Tiffany Haddish who plays a new character Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi.

Lego Movie 2 is being produced by the same team behind the Lego film franchise since the first feature title debuted in 2014. That film racked up $469M at the global box office.

The Lego Movie 2 reunites the heroes of Bricksburg and takes place five years after the first movie. They face a new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the Lego universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored and musical worlds.

Lego Movie 2 opens nationwide in 2D and 3D on February 8., 2019.

Gunpowder & Sky Releases Redband Trailer for Plaza’s Comedy “The Little Hours”

Gunpowder & Sky has unveiled the first NSFW redband trailer for the comedy The Little Hours, starring the 32-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress and former Parks and Recreation star, Alison Brie and Dave Franco.

The Little Hours follows medieval nuns gone wild Alessandra (Brie), Fernanda (Plaza) and Ginevra (Kate Micucci).

Per the film’s description, their days are spent chafing at monastic routine, spying on one another, and berating the estate’s day laborer. After a particularly vicious insult session drives the peasant away, Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) brings on new hired hand, Massetto (Franco), a virile young servant forced into hiding by his angry lord. Introduced to the sisters as a deaf mute to discourage temptation, Massetto struggles to maintain his cover as the repressed nunnery erupts in a whirlwind of pansexual horniness, substance abuse and wicked revelry.

Produced by Liz Destro and Plaza, the Jeff Baena-written and -directed comedy will open in theaters on June 30.

The Final Season of Plaza’s “Parks And Recreation” to Air on Tuesdays Beginning in January

NBC has scheduled the seventh and final season of Parks And Recreation, starring the 30-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress/comedian, to air on Tuesdays beginning in January.

The series will premiere on January 13 and air back-to-back episodes from 8-9 PM until February 24, when it will wrap its run with an hourlong finale following the Tuesday cycle premiere of The Voice.

Throughout its run, Parks And Recreation had aired on Thursdays since its launch, as part of the network’s

signature Thursday comedy block.

The series will launch two days after NBC’s January 11 broadcast of the 72nd annual Golden Globes, co-hosted by Parks & Recreation star Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.

Parks & Recreation also stars Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Jim O’Heir.

Last season, the series averaged a 1.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall in Live+7 averages. It was the third-most-upscale primetime series on the Big 4 in 18-49 living. It was also the youngest show on ABC, CBS or NBC last season, with a median age for its audience of 41.7.

The Release Date for Arias’ “The Kings of Summer” Moved Up to May

It looks like Moisés Arias will be back on the big screen two weeks sooner than originally planned…

The 18-year-old Colombian American actor and former Hannah Montana star’s latest film The Kings of Summerwhich was previously called Toy’s House, will now come out on May 31.

CBS Filmswhich picked up the domestic rights to the coming-of-age story after its critically acclaimed premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, had originally planned to release the film on June 14.

The Kings of Summer, written by Chris Galletta and directed by Jordan Vogt-Robert, centers on three friends who decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land.

CBS Films recently released the first official trailer for the film, which features Arias showing off his mad drum and dance skills in the middle of the woods.

The film also stars Nick RobinsonGabriel BassoNick OffermanMegan Mullally and Alison Brie.

Arias’ previous film credits include Nacho LibreThe Perfect Game and Hannah Montana: The Movie.

The coming-of-age comedy, which was originally titled Toy’s House, earned rave reviews at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. CBS Films acquired the domestic rights for the film shortly after.

Along with Arias, The Kings of Summer stars Nick Robinson and Gabriel Basso as teenagers who head into the wilderness to build a house and live off the land. Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and Alison Brie co-star.

Arias’ Dark Comedy “Toy’s House” Acquired by CBS Films

CBS Films has announced that it has acquired domestic rights to the coming-of-age comedy Toy’s House, starring the 18-year-old Colombian American actor and former Hannah Montana scene-stealer.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the movie premiered to rave reviews over the weekend at the this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Toy’s House, which has been compared to the classic films Stand By Me and The Goonies, follows three teenage boys as they head into the wilderness with a plan to build a house and live off the land.

Along with Arias, the film stars Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Alison Brie and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

Aguilera to Appear on “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly”

She may be taking a break from The Voice next season , but Christina Aguilera is planning to spend one last night with Carson Daly before she does…

The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian singer, who has been named the People’s Voice, has been added to the lineup of NBC’s annual New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.

The two-hour special, live from New York City’s Time Square and hosted by The Voice host Daly (late night’s Last Call With Carson Daly), will be headlined by Train and The Voice‘s latest winner Cassadee Pope on December 31, first from 10-11 p.m. and then 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. to ring in 2013.

Train will perform “Mermaid” and John Lennon‘s “Imagine.”

A music retrospective will also highlight the year’s top performances, featuring Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Madonna, PSY, Beyonce, Adele, The Spice Girls and David Guetta.

Daly, who has hosted the event since 2003, will be joined by his Voice colleagues Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green.

Additionally, Amy Poehler, Donald Trump, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, Parenthood cast members and The Office‘s Angela Kinsey, who will bring live reports from the ground in Times Square, are set to appear on the program.
