James Roday’s long-running television series Psych will continue airing for years to come.
Ion Television, which purchased the rights to the first six seasons of the USA Network’s buddy dramedy two years ago, has just secured the most recent run of the series in a deal with NBCUniversal Cable and New Media Distribution.
Psych, which stars the 37-year-old Mexican American and Dule Hill, is the network’s longest-running current series.
It was greenlighted in December for an eighth season, with the network requesting an additional two episodes last month.
“We’re excited to double down on the bet we made by adding Psych, a show that has consistently delivered a wide range of viewers since joining our lineup in 2011,” said Brandon Burgess, Chairman and CEO of ION Media Networks.
