Natti Natasha & Becky G Return to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with Latest Team-Up “Ram Pam Pam”

Natti Natasha and Becky G are back in top form…

The 34-year-old Dominican singer and the 24-year-old Mexican American singer have returned to Billboard’s Latin Airplay summit with their collaborative single “Ram Pam Pam.” The track hits No. 1 on the July 17-dated chart.

Natti Natasha & Becky G

The pair previously appeared atop the tally when “Sin Pijama,” their first team-up, ruled for one week in August 2018.

Becky G last appeared atop the tally with “Sin Pijama,” while Natti Natasha was last at No. 1 in April with “Antes Que Salga El Sol,” with Prince Royce.

It’s the third No. 1 for Becky G on Latin Airplay, and the eighth for Natti Natasha on the 50-deep tally.

“Ram Pam Pam” takes the lead (6-1) with a 48% gain in audience impressions, to 9.6 million, earned in the week ending July 11, according to MRC Data. As Natti establishes her eighth chart-topper, she continues to have the fifth-most No. 1s among female artists since the chart launched in 1994.

Here’s a recap of female acts with the most Latin Airplay No. 1s:

15, Shakira
11, Gloria Estefan
11, Karol G
10, Jennifer Lopez
8, Natti Natasha
5, Paulina Rubio
5, Thalia

“Ram Pam Pam” becomes the second female pairing to lead Latin Airplay in 2021, after Karol G and Mariah Angeliq’s “El Makinon” reigned for one week on the June 5-dated list. The new collaboration is just the fourth joint effort by two women in a lead role to hit No. 1 since the chart’s inception.

Here are the four winners:

Artists, Title, Peak Date
Becky G & Natti Natasha, “Sin Pijama”, August 11, 2018
Karol G & Nicki Minaj, “Tusa,” Feb. 15, 2020 (five weeks)
Karol G & Mariah Angeliq, “El Makinon,” June 5
Natti Natasha & Becky G, “Ram Pam Pam,” July 17

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “Ram Pam Pam” also lands at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay: a seventh win for Natti and a fourth lead for Becky.

Ozuna to Headline Calibash in January 2022

Ozuna is headed to a massive bash

After being sidelined in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Calibash will return to Los Angeles’ Staples Center in January 2022 to celebrate its quinceañera, with the Puerto Rican singer serving as one of the headlining acts.

Ozuna

For the first time ever, this year’s Calibash will be a three-day show (January 14-16), headlined by Ozuna (January 14), Daddy Yankee (January 15) and J Balvin (January 16) along with a roster of superstars.

Also performing are Wisin & Yandel, Myke Towers, Becky G, Sech and Natanael Cano (on Day 1); Natti Natasha, Manuel Turizo, Rauw Alejandro, Lunay and Kali Uchis (Day 2); and Nicky Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Jhay Cortez, Justin Quiles and Nío García (Day 3).

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. June 1 on asx.com.

The multi-artist show, produced and presented by SBS Entertainment, is the best-known urban Latin festival in the United States, and perhaps, the best-known Latin fest in the country.

Staged every year at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and for the past three years also in Las Vegas, Calibash has since its inception reflected and set trends, hosting acts like Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber alongside Latin names like J Balvin, Enrique Iglesias and Nicky Jam.

“There’s nothing like it,” says Alessandra Alarcón, president of SBS Entertainment, the live event arm of SBS, which also owns the SBS radio network and TV station La Mega. “We’re activating the entirety of LA Live. We’ll have an outdoor stage with performances by local and up and coming artists, and inside, for the first time, we’ll have three completely different talent lineups.”

Prices will range from $45 for the cheapest seat to $1,000 for a top VIP seat (which grants access averaging $150 per night and $600 for a three-day pass). Aside from ticket sales, SBS also sells merchandise and of course sponsorships, both for the indoor and outdoor portions of the fest.

Victoria La Mala & Chiquis Team Up for Women’s Empowerment Anthem “Sexo Debil (TNMDQH)”

Victoria La Mala is empowering women with her latest single…

The Mexican singer has teamed up with Chiquis, whom she met about six years ago, for their first-ever collaboration “Sexo Debil (TNMDQH).”

Victoria La Mala & Chiquis

“I wrote the song a couple of years ago with Claudia Brant,” La Mala tells Billboard. “I was holding on to it for a while because I loved it so much and it meant so much to me.”

“Sexo Debil (TNMDQH),” short for “tu no me dices que hacer” is a Western-tinged corrido that fuses to an infectious cumbia melody towards the middle. It’s an anthem to remind women that they are in no shape or form the weakest sex.

“Every word we wrote was something that was told to me,” she adds. “I wanted to let women feel that they are empowered, have control of their lives and that they can do whatever they want.”

For the track, La Mala reeled in Latin Grammy winner, Chiquis, because “she’s such a strong woman and she’ll be able to relate.”

“Us women who are in this industry understand how hard it can be and the discrimination that happens,” Chiquis notes. “I love what Victoria did on this song because it comes from the heart. She’s really embracing who she is, she’s hip-hop, she’s Regional, she’s a little bit of everything and I love that she did something different. This song gives women power and reminds them that they can do whatever they want.”

In the music video, both Mexican artists are just as unapologetic and fierce as the track.

“I’m obsessed with this video! We had so much fun and I think it reflects that,” La Mala says. “I wanted to do this whole late ‘90s, early ‘00s aesthetic because I grew up with that. We filmed it in a day and we got to hang out with each other and let loose.”

With the release of “Sexo Debil,” part of Soy Mala EP coming out on May 5th, both La Mala and Chiquis hope to encourage more and more women in Regional Mexican to collaborate.

“Why can’t we get together the way Becky G and Natti [Natasha] collab? I want that in our genre so now it’s happening and hopefully it keeps on going,” Chiquis expresses.

“We’re the generation that’s doing it!” La Mala agrees. “There’s space to support all the women and grow together. We’re more unstoppable that way.”

Natti Natasha & Becky G Team Up for New Single “Ram Pam Pam”

Natti Natasha has reunited with Becky G for another bangin’ song…

Three years after releasing their smash hit “Sin Pijama,” the 34-year-old Dominican singer and songwriter and the 24-year-old Mexican American singer/rapper have joined voices once again for “Ram Pam Pam.”

Natti Natasha x Becky G

The hard-hitting reggaeton single features Middle Eastern influences.

It centers on a woman who’s no fool and has a message for her ex.

“I won’t make mistakes again/ And much less with someone like you/ Who treats me bad/ I don’t get sad if I don’t see you/ You looked for it/ My heart doesn’t beg you, it’s an atheist,” Natti kicks off the track.

The beat, lyrics, and vocal fusions are fire, easily becoming a summer anthem for the ladies.

The music video shows both artists joined by a group of girls dancing at a basketball court.

Like “Sin Pijama,” Prince Royce makes a camo.

“Ram Pam Pam,” which samples Daddy Yankee’s “Ella Me Levanto,” is a sequel to Natti’s all-female perreo “Las Nenas,” featuring Farina, Cazzu and newcomer Duraca.

Maluma to Perform at This Year’s Premio Lo Nuestro Awards Show

Maluma is bringing a taste of Jamaica to this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro

The 27-year-old Colombian superstar is set to premiere hits from his surprise new album 7 Días en Jamaica during the awards show on February 18.

Meanwhile, Marc Anthony and Daddy Yankee will perform their new hit, “De Vuelta Pa La Vuelta.”

The three stars are the latest performers announced for the first Latin music award show of the year, which will air on Univision.

Other performers announced include Mexican star Carlos Rivera, who will perform “100 Años” alongside Maluma. And in a first, the entire Montaner family – Evaluna, Mau y Ricky and dad Ricardo Montaner — will be joined by Camilo (who is married to Evaluna Montaner) to perform “Amén,” which was released during the holidays.

Regional Mexican rising star Lenin Ramírez will also perform alongside Grupo Firme, as will Chesca; with Prince Royce taking the stage alongside Natti Natasha. The latter will sing their hit “Antes que salga el sol” together on television for the first time.

They join previously announced performers Los Ángeles Azules, Anuel AA, CNCO, Ozuna and Gloria Trevi.

Premios Lo Nuestro will air on Univision on February 18, live from the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Natti Natasha Among Latin Artists Named Ambassadors for Pandora

Natti Natasha is opening Pandora’s box…

The 34-year-old Dominican singer-songwriter has been appointed an ambassador for jewelry company Pandora.

Natti Natasha

Natti Natasha joins a roster of new endorsers that includes Sebastián YatraDanna Paola and Luísa Sonza.

The four Latin stars, each representing a different Latin American country, are now part of the Pandora squad via their 2021 campaign titled “Beats of Pandora.”

Natti Natasha

“I feel very proud to be an ambassador for Pandora because it’s a brand that motivates women to shine on their own by way of their style,” says Natti Natasha about the partnership.

Songstress Danna Paola represents Mexico, pop darling Yara represents Colombia and Sonza will serve as ambassador in Brazil.

“Through their voices, these stars express dreams, desires, stories and moments in a Latin woman’s life,” said Martín Pereyra, general manager of Pandora Latin America. “Pandora is part of this marvelous squad, giving voice to the passions of many women via our jewelry. We want more women in Latin America to be part of the Pandora world and thanks to music, we’re one step closer to those women.”

Khea Releases “Ayer Me Llamo Mi Ex” Remix, Featuring Natti Natasha & Prince Royce

Khea has called in some big guns for a big remix…

The 20-year-old Argentine trap singer, whose real name is Ivo Alfredo Thomas Serue, continues to flaunt his versatility and global appeal with the release of the remix to his trap-bachata fusion track “Ayer Me Llamo Mi Ex,” featuring Natti Natasha and Prince Royce onboard the remix.

The original track, released less than two months ago, featured Lenny Santos, Aventura’s guitarist.

Marrying his signature trap with modern bachata melodies, the remix not only counts with three emblematic artists from the Dominican Republic, but also takes things to the next level.

Khea experiments with Caribbean rhythms, Natti and Royce show off their rapping skills, it’s the best of both worlds.

“Ayer Me Llamó Mi Ex,” produced by up-and-coming artist-producer Nobeat and released via Young Flex / Interscope Records, tells the story of someone who’s on the phone with their ex and reminding them of everything they lost and how they’re living their best single life.

Landing on YouTube’s trending page, the music video, directed by Teo, features all three artists in the same situation while they jam to the song in different areas of a motel.
