Natalie Morales to Star in Warner Bros. “The Little Things”

Natalie Morales is celebrating the little things…

The 34-year-old Cuban American actress has joined the cast of Warner Bros.The Little Things opposite Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Rami Malek.

The film follows Deke (Washington), a burned-out Kern County, CA. deputy sheriff who teams with Baxter (Malek), a crack LASD detective, to nab a serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past. Jared Letois in talks to join in the role as the serial killer in the project from writer-director John Lee Hancock.

Morales will play a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department detective working for Baxter.

She most recently starred on NBC’s Abby’s sitcom. The Parks and Recreation alum also starred in Fox’s Stuber alongside Kumail Nanjiani. She also appeared in Fox Searchlight’s Golden Globe-nominated Battle of the Sexes opposite Emma Stoneand Steve Carell. Morales was a regular on Fox’s The Grinder. She also recently directed her second episode of Room 104 for HBO.

Morales to Compete on NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night”

The 44-year-old Puerto Rican and Brazilian American broadcast journalist, the Today Show West Coast anchor and an NBC News correspondent, will appear on this season of NBC’s Hollywood Game Night.

Hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, this game night show brings regular people face-to-face with celebrities.

In addition to Morales, this season’s famous contestants include Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley from This Is Us, Ben Feldman from Superstore, plus Michael Bolton, NE-YO, Mike Colter, Margaret Cho, Gabby Douglas, Taye Diggs, and RuPaul.

Hollywood Game Night will premiere on Monday, August 7 at 10 pm ET.

Morales to Star in the Family Comedy “Losing It”

Natalie Morales is losing it

The 31-year-old Cuban American actress has landed a lead role in Losing It, a single-camera family comedy from Growing Up Fisher and Truth Be Told creator DJ Nash and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.

Written by Nash, Losing It centers on three misfit adult siblings and their parents who — between divorce, new parenthood, early-onset dementia and let’s just say life — are all losing it in different ways. And family is the only way they’re going to find it.

Morales will play one of the siblings, Charlie, the adopted sister who is a baker.

The casting comes on the heels of Morales’ arc on the new Netflix dark comedy series Santa Clarita Diet, which is produced by Kapital Entertainment. This marks Morales’ return to ABC where she co-starred on the underrated comedy series Trophy Wife.

Her other credits include The Grinder, Parks and Recreation and The Middleman.

Morales to Star in Fox Searchlight’s Tennis-Themed Film “Battle of the Sexes”

The 31-year-old Cuban American actress has been cast in Battle of the Sexes, Fox Searchlight’s film about the historic 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

Emma Stone and Steve Carell will play the leads, while Morales will portray Rosie Casals, a one of “The 9” — the first women to form their own tennis league and go on tour. She became good friends with King and supported her leading up to the big match with Riggs.

Jonathan Faris and Valerie Dayton are directing the film from a script by Simon Beaufoy.

Morales currently co-stars on Fox’s The Grinder, and her credits also include Trophy Wife, Parks and Recreation, Girls and 90210.

The 30-year-old Cuban American actress will co-star opposite Rob Lowe and Fred Savage in The Grinder, Fox’s comedy pilot from Andrew Mogel, Nick Stoller and Jarrad Paul.

Written by Mogel and Paul and directed by Jake KasdanThe Grinder stars Lowe as beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson (aka “The Grinder”). When his long-running hit series comes to an end, he finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small hometown, thinking he has the experience to take over his family’s law firm. Once there, he butts heads with his brother, Stewart Sanderson (Savage).

Morales will play Claire, a paralegal who works at Stewart’s law firm. She has never seen an episode of Dean’s TV show and is unimpressed with his celebrity.

The project will also star Mary Elizabeth Ellis and William Devane.

Morales’ credits include the feature films Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Going the Distance, as well as television roles on Girls, Parks and RecreationTrophy Wife and The Newsroom.

The 42-year-old Brazilian/Puerto Rican broadcast journalist, The Today Show ’s news anchor, lent her voice to the Today: The Musical, which aired this week.

The 14-minute original production, starring the morning show’s cast and crew, has been billed as a tongue-in-cheek look behind the scenes of Studio 1A, where Today anchors and crew members sing and dance to original numbers written by Kathie Lee Gifford.

Lopez to Guest Star on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”

The 45-year-old Puerto Rican actress/singer and American Idol judge has booked a guest-starring role on the seventh and final season of NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

Lopez, who will headline her own NBC cop drama Shades of Blue in the near future, will reportedly play Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben’s (Adam Scott) hot nanny.

For this final season, the couple is now living in the year 2017 as the parents of triplets as per last season’s ending. “

I think everyone feels like, ‘We don’t want to overstay our welcome. We want to go out on a high note,’” executive producer Michael Schur told Entertainment Weekly last May.

Other celebrities set to guest star on the upcoming season of Parks and Recreation include Rachel, Jon Hamm, Megan Mullaly and Natalie Morales.

Lopez previously made high-profile guest appearances on How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace.

Saldanha’s “Rio 2” Breaks Animated Film Records in Brazil

The 49-year-old Brazilian animated film director’s latest project Rio 2, the sequel to 2011’s beloved film Rio, has made history in Brazil.

The film had the biggest opening ever for an animated film in the South American country.

The Blue Sky Studios project from Saldanha, who hails from the titular town, took off with $7.3 million to edge out the prior record-holder, Madagascar 3.

The film’s voice cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, Bruno Mars, George Lopez, will.i.am, Rodrigo Santoro, Jake T. Austin, Bebel Gilberto, Andy Garcia, Rita Moreno, Kristin Chenowith, Natalie Morales and Janelle Monáe.

Rio 2 will be released in the United States on April 11.
