Myriam Hernández still has things left to say…

The 56-year-old Chilean singer, songwriter and television presenter has released “Nos Lo Hemos Dicho Todo,” the lead single from her upcoming new album.

The beautifully arranged track blends Hernández’s core pop sound with the pizzaz of a full mariachi.

Written and produced by Jacobo Calderón, the son of legenderay Spanish songwriter Juan Carlos Calderón, “Nos lo hemos dicho todo” talks about the intimate struggles of a couple that loves each other despite defects and fights.

Myriam Hernández is being celebrated for her body of achievements…

The Latin Recording Academy has revealed the recipients of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award, including the 57-year-old Chilean singer-songwriter and television presenter.

Myriam HernandezHernandez joins fellow artists Rosario Flores, Rita Lee, Amanda Miguel and Yordano for the special honor, which forms part of its annual Special Awards Presentation.

Hernandez is known throughout the Spanish-speaking world for her romantic ballads.

Additionally, Manolo Díaz, Paquito D’Rivera and Abraham Laboriel will receive the Trustees Award.

“The collective accomplishments of this extraordinary group of artists and their contributions to Latin music are immeasurable,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy. “It will be a great privilege to honor these legendary figures during Latin Grammy Week in Las Vegas.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award, according the Academy, is presented to performers who have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to Latin music and its communities.

Meanwhile, the Trustees Award is given to individuals who have made “significant contributions to Latin music during their careers in ways other than performance.”

Both are voted on by the Latin Recording Academy’s Board of Trustees.

The special awards honorees will be celebrated during a private event on November 16 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center as part of Latin Grammy Week.

The 23rd annual Latin Grammys are set to take place on November 17 and will return to Las Vegas. The Latin Grammys ceremony is set to broadcast live from the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The three-hour telecast, which will be produced by Univision, will air live on the network beginning at 8 p.m. ET, preceded by a one-hour pre-show starting at 7 p.m. ET.

This will be the show’s first time at Michelob Ultra Arena since 2013, when the venue was known as Mandalay Bay Events Center. The show was held there six times between 2007 and 2013. Last year, the show was held at MGM Grand Garden Arena, also in Las Vegas

Nominees for this year’s awards edition are expected to be announced on September 20.

Hernandez to Release New Album in 2016

Myriam Hernandez is back in the studio…

The 50-year-old Chilean singer/songwriter is working on her new album, which is expected to be released during the second quarter of 2016.

The yet-untitled production will be the 12th one in her 25-year music career.

Her last album Seducción — nominated for a Latin Grammy — was released five years ago and included duets with renowned artists such as Marco Antonio Solis and Cristian Castro.

Hernandez was inducted last year into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame during the third annual La Musa Awards.

“To be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, I never dreamt this,” said the composer, who currently resides in her native Chile.

She shared the special honor with the other inductees, including Diego Torres, Fonseca, Alejandra Guzmán, Beto Cuevas and Rita Moreno.

Café Tacvba to Receive Icon Award at This Year’s La Musa Awards

There’s no doubt Café Tacvba is one of the Latin music world’s most iconic bands. And, now they have the award to prove it.

The trailblazing Mexican alt-rockers will be honored with the Icon Award at the La Musa Awards, which will take place on October 15 at The Fillmore Miami Beach Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach.

The icon designation is fitting for a band that, over the last 25 years, helped elevate rock by fusing it with hip-hop, electronic music, and folkloric sounds.

Recently, the act – consisting of Rubén Albarrán, Emmanuel “Meme” del Real, José Alfredo “Joselo” Rangel, and Enrique “Quique” Rangel – celebrated the 20th anniversary of its seminal album Re, which revolutionized rock en español.

Their most recent album, El Objeto Antes Llamado Disco, was deemed the Best Latin Album of 2012 by iTunes.

Café Tacvba will also perform during the awards show, produced by the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF). The non-profit was founded by renowned songwriters/composers Desmond Child and Rudy Perez in 2012 to honor their peers who have impacted music on a global scale.

Cuban music mogul Emilio Estefan, Chilean singer/songwriter Myriam Hernandez, Argentine composer/performer Gustavo Santaolalla, Argentine singer/songwriter Diego Torres, Colombian songwriter Hector Ochoa Cardenas and Salvadoran singer/songwriter Alvaro Torres are the six music luminaries being inducted into the LSHOF during this year’s ceremony. Quincy Jones will receive the Desi Arnaz Pioneer Award while Chilean rock icon Beto Cuevas will be recognized with a special La Musa Conquistador Award.

Lovato to Perform in Chile…

She’s performed with Spanish rising star Pablo Alborán at the Latin Grammys… And, now Demi Lovato is set to share the stage with Colombian superstar Juanes.

The 19-year-old part Mexican singer/actress will appear next month at the Iquique Festival in northern Chile, according to event organizers.

It’ll be Lovato’s third appearance in Chile… She previously sand backup for the Jonas Brothers in 2009 and took her solo tour to the Latin American country in May 2010.

The festival kicks off on Friday, February 3 with a performance by the trio Alex, Jorge y Lena, which comprises Spain’s Alex Ubago, the Colombian Jorge Villamizar and Lena Burke from Cuba. They’ll then cede the spotlight to Chilean singer El Gitano and reggaeton star Tito El Bambino.

On Saturday, February  4, the former Sonny with a Chance star and Juanes will alternate their performances on the main stage.

The next day—the last day of the festival–will feature Chilean balladeer Myriam Hernandez and Mexico’s Juan Gabriel, who is preparing to celebrate his 40-year history in music with a special duets album featuring Anahi and Julieta Venegas, among others.
