Ally Brooke Hernandez, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui aren’t afraid to play boss at the MTV Video Music Awards

Fifth Harmony

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members pumped up the crowd on the red carpet before the MTV VMAs kicked off inside the Forum on Sunday night.

The Simon Cowell-created girl group, finalists on Fox’s The X Factor, dressed in black-and-white outfits and stomped all over the outdoor stage, red carpet and fan bleachers during their performance of “BO$$,” their Michelle Obama– and Oprah Winfrey-hailing single off their upcoming Reflection album.

Fifth Harmony Releases New Single “Them Girls Be Like”

Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello and Ashley Brooke Hernandez are back with new music.

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members have released new music ahead of their pre-show performance at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 24.

The Simon Cowell-created all-girl group, third place finishers on The X Factor, dropped the sassy new song “Them Girls Be Like,” which is full of pop culture references ranging from the 2004 comedy Mean Girls to Beyonce.

“Them Girls Be Like” is the latest song from Fifth Harmony’s upcoming debut, Reflection, due out on November 17 via Epic Records. The group recently changed the album’s cover art after fans expressed their dislike for it.

“Y’all spoke. We heard. We agreed. #5HNEWReflection,” Ally Brooke Hernandez tweeted on Aug. 22, along with a slick black-and-white photo of Fifth Harmony members wearing fedoras.

Mars to Reportedly Headline the 2014 Super Bowl Halftime Show

It appears that Bruno Mars will be having a super February…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer will reportedly perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2014, according to the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times.

Bruno Mars

The National Football League is expected to make an official announcement on Sunday during Fox’s pregame show at noon ET.

Mars, currently on tour promoting his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox, would be a strong choice. He’s known for giving high-octane performances at awards shows like the Grammys and MTV VMAs.

His hit songs include “Locked Out of Heaven,” “Grenade,” “Just the Way You Are” and “When I Was Your Man.”

Mars would join Madonna, Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas with Usher and Slash, The Who and Bruce Springsteen with the E Street Band.

Mars Delivers Steamy Performance on New Single “Gorilla” at the MTV VMAs

Bruno Mars knows how to make audiences go bananas, as proven at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards show

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer, who claimed two Moonmen at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night, performed moments after winning his first-ever Moonman for Best Male Video for “Locked Out Of Heaven.”

Bruno Mars

Selena Gomez welcomed him to the stage, telling the room he “brings the house down every time he performs.” And, Mars didn’t disappoint.

The Grammy-winning singer performed his latest single, the super-sexified “Gorilla,” for the first time in front of the music industry’s brightest stars.

Taking the stage in a leopard shirt and his signature fedora, Mars slowed it down with his R&B jam without losing any of his onstage showmanship.

Mars was joined on stage by a full band, and a gorilla… on the screen behind him. The lights erupted with the chorus and given the song’s NSFW content, Mars even threw in a few air humps.

The singer spoke to MTV News during Saturday night’s rehearsals, about his return to the VMA stage and promised that his performance would “capture the essence of the song.” He added, “What can they expect from this performance? Two words: bang, bang. And twerking.”

“Gorilla” is the fourth single off of Mar’s sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox, which was released last December.

Gomez Wins Her First-Ever Moonman at the MTV VMAs…

The 21-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress claimed the first Moonman of her career at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, broadcast live Sunday night from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Gomez, who was nominated last year for Best Female Video for her inescapable hit “Love You Like a Love Song,” lost out to One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” in the Best Song of the Summer category.

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars batted .500 at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night.

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, nominated for four awards, won the Best Male Video prize for his “Locked Out of Heaven” clip, beating out Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell, Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar.

Fimbres and Her Danity Kane Members Reuniting at the MTV VMAs…

Aundrea Fimbres is planning to make a return to the music scene with a band

The 30-year-old Mexican American singer will reunite with her former Danity Kane members to make an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Danity Kane

“DANITY KANE is officially BACK! @danitykane #vmas2013 #Rage,” fellow member Aubrey O’Day tweeted along with the group’s new promo photo.

There’s no official word on whether Fimbres and her fellow all-girl group mates Shannon Bex, O’Day and Dawn Richard will perform at the awards show. Fifth member D. Woods will not be joining them.

Danity Kane officially announced their return with a new promo picture posted to their website at midnight on Sunday, August 25. The girls also confirmed their appearance at the 2013 MTV VMAs as well.

Fimbres, Bex, O’Day and Richard were hand-selected to form Danity Kane by Sean Combs during the third season of MTV’s Making the Band back in 2005.

The group released their self-titled debut album in 2006 and notched two hits, “Show Stopper” and “Ride for You.”

The girls’ second album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, was released in 2008 and gave them another hit single, “Damaged.”

Danity Kane would go on to become the first female group in Billboard history to have their first two albums open at the top of the charts.

The group’s break up was confirmed in January 2009.

Jesse & Joy Nominated for First-Ever MTV Video Music Award

Jesse & Joy could be corriendo to the stage at MTV Video Music Awards

The Mexican pop-rock duo – who reached a whole new level of success with their massive hit single ¡Corre! – have been nominated in the Best Latino Artist category.

Jesse & Joy

It’s the first MTV Video Music Award nod for the brother and sister act comprised of Jesse Huerta and Joy Huerta, who were last year’s Latin Grammy darlings.

Jesse & Joy are up against Alejandro Sanz, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee and Don Omar.

The winner will be determined in a public vote held via the MTV Tr3s website. And the winner will collect the award at the MTV VMAs ceremony, which will be held at New York’s Barclays Center on August 25.

Santos Named MTV Tr3s’ Latino Artist of the Year

Demi Lovato isn’t the only Hispanic artist to pick up a first-ever Moonman

Romeo Santos, who released his debut solo album last month after serving as the front man for Aventura, earned MTV Tr3s’ Mejor Artista Latino 2012 award during a Spanish-subtitled transmission of the MTV Video Music Awards.

Romeo Santos

The 31-year-old Dominican-American, who sold out Madison Square Garden twice last year, beat out some serious competition for the award: Jennifer Lopez, Wisin y Yandel, Pitbull and Juanes.

“To receive the award leaves me speechless,” says Santos in a statement. “I owe it to all the votes [I received] from my fans. Thank you, what a blessing!”

The Spanish-subtitled transmission of the MTV VMA show will be broadcast on September 15 at 9:00 pm ET on MTV Tr3s.

Earlier this year, Santos picked up two awards at the Premios Juventud, including Most Played Album for his first solo venture, Fórmula Vol 1.
