Danny Pino to Star in FOX‘s Anthology Crime Series “Accused”

The 50-year-old Cuban American actor will star in FOX‘s anthology crime series Accused for Season 2.

New episodes will drop this fall.

They join the previously announced actors Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Nick Cannon and Michael Chiklis.

The project reunites Pino and Chiklis who most recently co-starred in the MGM+ series Hotel Cocaine.

From FOX Entertainment and Sony Pictures TelevisionAccused is a collection of intense, topical human stories of crime and punishment. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, each episode is a fast-paced provocative thriller, exploring a different crime, in a different city with an entirely original cast.

The series is based on the BBC BAFTA Award-winning crime anthology of the same name created by Jimmy McGovern.

Schilling, Chambers and Pino will star in “April’s Story” where a nurse commits a crime that changes the trajectory of her life. Schilling will play ‘April,’ Chambers will play ‘Tyler’ and Pino will play ‘Jake.’

Accused is developed for American television by Howard Gordon, who executive produces with Alex Gansa, David Shore, Erin Gunn and Daniel Pearle.

Pino currently stars as the general manager of the Mutiny Hotel and Club, Roman Compte, in the MGM+ series, Hotel Cocaine.

Before that, he completed his run in the fifth and final season of FX’s Mayans M.C., where he starred as “Miguel Galindo” and directed two episodes.

Additionally, he played opposite Amy Adams in Stephen Chbosky’s film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen and portrayed NYPD detective Nick Amaro in four seasons of Law & Order: SVU.

Pino also recently completed the short film, Unión De Reyes, which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in.

MGM+ Releases Teaser Trailer for Danny Pino’s New 1970s Crime Thriller Series “Hotel Cocaine”

MGM+ has released a teaser trailer for the 1970s crime thriller Hotel Cocaine, starring the 49-year-old Cuban American actor.

Danny PinoThe premiere of the eight-episode series will be available on June 16 on MGM+, with new episodes airing on Sundays until August 4.

In addition to Pino, the cast includes Michael Chiklis, Mark Feuerstein, Yul Vazquez, Tania Watson, Corina Bradley and Laura Gordon.

New cast additions include Don Mike, Pedro Giunti, Lola Claire, Matthew Del Negro, Victor Oliveira, Robert Beck, Sam Robards and Candy Santana.

From Chris Brancato and Guillermo NavarroHotel Cocaine tells the story of Roman Compte (Pino), a Cuban exile and general manager of the Mutiny Hotel, the glamorous epicenter of the Miami cocaine scene of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

The Mutiny Hotel was Casablanca on cocaine; a glitzy nightclub, restaurant, and hotel frequented by Florida businessmen and politicians, international narcos, CIA and FBI agents, models, sports stars and musicians. At the center of it all was Compte, who was doing his best to keep it all going and fulfill his American Dream.

Recurring cast: Don Mike plays “Omar,” the Mutiny Club maitre’d. Pedro Giunti plays “Guillermo,” Nestor’s henchman and driver. Claire plays “Trini,” a Mutiny Girl. Santana plays “Gale,” a Mutiny Girl and Janice’s right hand.

Guest cast: Del Negro plays “Phil Nolan,” Janice’s abusive ex-boyfriend. Oliveira plays “Alvaro Gomez,” an emissary of Henao and Yolanda’s cartel. Beck plays “Marty Owens,” a customs official on Henao’s payroll. Robards plays “Hal,” Nestor and Burton’s former CIA handler.

Prevously announced guest stars include Mayra Hermosillo, Juan Pablo Raba, Erniel Baez, Nick Barkla, Cale Ambrozic, Camila Valero and Maggie Lacey.

Brancato created the series and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Navarro directed the pilot and executive produces the series alongside Brancato, with Michael Panes and Alfredo Barrios Jr. also serving as executive producers.

Hotel Cocaine is produced by MGM+ Studios, in association with Stan in Australia and internationally distributed by Amazon MGM Studios Distribution.

Yul Vazquez to Star in MGM+’s Crime Thriller “Hotel Cocaine”

The 58-year-old Cuban-American actor and musician is set as a lead opposite Danny Pino and Michael Chiklis in Hotel Cocaine, MGM+’s upcoming crime thriller from creator Chris Brancato.

Hotel Cocaine is the story of Roman Compte (Pino), a Cuban expatriate who fought against Fidel Castro in the Bay of Pigs invasion and re-made his life in Miami. He is general manager of the Mutiny Hotel, the glamorous epicenter of the Miami cocaine scene of late ‘70s and early ‘80s. The Mutiny Hotel was Casablanca on cocaine, a glitzy nightclub, restaurant and hotel frequented by Florida businessmen and politicians, international narcos, CIA and FBI agents, models, sports stars and musicians.

Vazquez will play Nestor Cabal, Roman Compte’s (Pino) brother and one of the biggest suppliers of cocaine to a coke-hungry Miami population. He’s dangerous, funny, wily, and seeking reunion with his long-lost brother.

Chiklis plays Agent Zulio who will stop at nothing to shut down the drug trade, even if it means using innocent civilians to accomplish his ends.

Brancato serves as executive producer and showrunner. Guillermo Navarro will direct the pilot episode and executive produce the series, with Michael Panes and Alfredo Barrios Jr. also serving as executive producers.

The eight-episode series from MGM+ Studios, in partnership with MGM Television, will begin production in May in the Dominican Republic, and is slated to premiere in early 2024.

Vazquez will next be seen in the HBO Max limited series White House Plumbers, opposite Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux. He was most recently seen on season 3 of the MGM+ series Godfather of Harlem opposite Forest Whitaker and in the Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ series, Severance, directed by Ben Stiller.

His other credits include Jason Bateman’s HBO series The Outsider, ABC’s Promised Land, Netflix’s Russian DollTNT miniseries I Am The Night and HBO’s Succession, among others.

His film work includes Books of Blood, Last Flag Flying, Gringo, Traffic and The Infiltrator.

For a limited time, CBS’ streaming service is posting the premiere episode “Call of the Void” for free on YouTube.

The series stars Michael Chiklis as U.S. Border Patrol agent Ben Clemens, who has spent more than three decades protecting the U.S. border from threats to the nation – but now times have changed. Clemens now finds himself in a position of having to work for the very people he’s spent most of his life fighting against. But as Clemens experiences life on the other side of the wall, he soon realizes that his black-and-white views of the world no longer hold up to the cold, hard facts. Clemens will find his ideologies challenged and his loyalties questioned when it becomes all too clear that some of the deadliest threats he faces are “red, white, and blue.”

Raba stars as Juan Diego “El Catrin” Zamora, the head of a small family cartel in Mexico.

The series also stars Adriana Paz, Kristyan Ferrer, Octavio Pisano, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Julio Cedillo, and newcomer Emy Mena.

Emmy Award-winning executive producer Michelle MacLaren directed the series premiere and second episode and serves as an executive producer on the series.

David Graziano serves as showrunner. Co-creators Graziano, Michael Carnes, and Josh Gilbert (also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.

D’Ugo will play Esme Gallo, an artist in Mexico.

Rodriguez is Lugo Peralta, an HSI Agent.

Cantillo will play Javi Lopez, former partner and best friend to Ben.

MacLaren will direct the pilot and executive produce the series. 

Production on the first season is underway with the series scheduled to premiere on Paramount Network this summer.

Adriana Paz Cast in Paramount Network’s “Coyote”

The 39-year-old Mexican actress and dancer has been cast as a series regular opposite Michael Chiklis and Juan Pablo Raba in Coyote, Paramount Network’s one-hour scripted drama series.

Paz will play Silvia, the proprietor of the local taqueria. Ferrer will portray Chayo, a member of the Cartel and has a very personal ax to grind. Pisano will play Sultan, member of the Cartel, he is a second generation Mexican American who has fled to Mexico. McWilliams will portray Holly Vincent, the smart, savvy, and streetwise HSI Agent. Cedillo will play Neto, a seasoned, local cop in a small Mexico town.

The project hails from Emmy-winning executive producer and director Michelle MacLarenDark Horse Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. It’s slated to premiere in 2020.

MacLaren will direct the pilot and executive produce the series. Graziano serves as showrunner. Graziano, Carnes and Gilbert are writers and executive producers. 

Paz’s previous credits include her Ariel Award-winning performance in La Tirisia, as well as roles in Rudo y CursiSpectreHilda and El Autor.

Ferrer, a 24-year-old Mexican actor, previously appeared in Sin Nombre, Ramon and600 Millas.

Pisano previously appeared in New York UndercoveriLove and If Loving You is Wrong.

Cedillo, a 49-year-old Mexican American actor, previously appeared in The Three Burials of Melquiades EstradaSicario and Narcos: Mexico.

On television, Raba is known for his starring role as Ricky Ortiz on the military drama Six, which aired for two seasons on History, and for his role as Gustavo, on Narcos. Raba can be seen in Netflix’s original Colombian series, Distrito Salvaje, in which he stars and also executive produces. He’s also known for his recurring role in the third season of ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. His character Joey Gutierrez is the first openly gay hero in the Marvelfranchise.

Fox has renewed its flagship drama Gotham, starring the 37-year-old Brazilian American actress, for a fourth season.

The 43-year-old Puerto Rican actress/singer is starring in the action film Parker with Jason Statham, as previously reported… And by the looks of the film’s just-released first trailer, la Lopez shines bright in the film.

Based on the series of best-selling novels by Donald E. Westlake, Parker follows Statham’s titular character, a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: “Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it.” But, on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead.

Determined to exact revenge, Parker tracks them down to Palm Beach, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (J.Lo), a savvy insider, who’s short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean.

Directed by Taylor Hackford, the cast includes Michael Chiklis, Nick Nolte, Wendell Pierce, Clifton Collins Jr., Patti LuPone and Emma Booth.

The movie is set to open on January 25.

Starring action star Jason Statham and Michael Chiklis, the film center’s on Statham’s character Parker, a thief with a unique code of professional ethics who double-crossed by his crew and left for dead.

Lopez plays Leslie, the woman with whom he forms an unlikely alliance on the inside as he looks to hijack the score of the crew’s latest heist.

Directed by Taylor Hackford, Parker is slated for release on January 25, 2013.
