Ariana DeBose to Appear on Season Finale of Brian Stokes Mitchell’s On Demand Streaming Talk Show “Crossovers Live!”

The 30-year-old half-Afro-Puerto Rican actress, singer and dancer will be a guest on the season finale of Brian Stokes Mitchell’s on demand streaming talk show Crossovers Live!.

DeBose will appear along side fellow Broadway star Audra McDonald.

Portions of ticket sales for the live show will benefit The Actors Fund.

The season holiday finale episode is set for Monday, December 20 at 8:00 pm ET.

A Stellar Original presentation in association with Atomic Focus EntertainmentCrossovers Live! was created and will be directed by Tom Wiggin, and is designed to showcase performers who have made the jump from stage to film, television or music.

Since the monthly series debuted last June, Crossovers Live!, hosted by Mitchell, has featured such guests as Vanessa Williams, Daniel J. Watts, Marc Shaiman, Megan Hilty, Bernadette Peters, Kristin Chenoweth and David Hyde Pierce.

Blending candid interviews, rare footage and various surprises, the series is livestreamed in New York City and also available on demand. Ticket info is available here, with a minimum of 10% of net proceeds benefiting The Actors Fund.

DeBose made her television debut competing on So You Think You Can Dance and her Broadway debut in the musical Bring It On. Other Broadway credits have included Motown: The Musical, the revival of PippinA Bronx Tale and as Donna Summer in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, which earned her a Tony Award nomination.

On film and television, she appeared in the filmed version of Hamilton, Ryan Murphy’s adaptation of Broadway musical The Prom, and most recently in Apple TV’s Schmigadoon!.

She’ll soon be seen on the big screen as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film adaptation of West Side Story.

Rodriguez, who portrayed Ana Vargas on NBC’s 2012-2013 musical series, will appear in the one-night-only Actors Fund benefit event alongside her Smashcastmates Jaime CeperoWill ChaseBrian d’Arcy JamesJack DavenportAnn HaradaJeremy JordanAndy MientusLeslie Odom Jr. and Wesley Taylor.

The show’s stars Debra MessingKatharine McPheeChristian BorleMegan Hilty and other cast members will virtually reunite on May 20 for a streaming of the 2015 Bombshell in Concert, with Renée Zellwegerintroducing the event and Julie Klausner hosting a live, virtual cast reunion.

The concert of the show-within-the-show about the life of Marilyn Monroewas taped at Broadway’s Minskoff Theateron June 8, 2015, an event that remains one of the most successful fundraisers ever for The Actors FundBombshell– the creation of which formed the plot of Smash– features a score by Marc Shaimanand Scott Wittman, who also served as executive producers of Smash.

Rodriguez and her cast members will appear in a livestream reunion during the intermission. 

The concert and reunion will stream on Wednesday, May 20, at 8:00 pm ET on people.com, PeopleTV, and People social platforms.

In the past seven weeks, The Actors Fund has distributed $10.1 million in emergency financial assistance to 8,558 people in need due to the current COVID-19pandemic, or more than five times the funds normally provided in a year.

Smashwas based on an original idea by Steven Spielberg, who was also executive producer of the series, and created by Theresa Rebeck.

Ramirez to Star in the Untitled Judah Miller Comedy Pilot

The 41-year-old Mexican/Salvadoran American actor, who rose to acclaim as Pedro Sánchez in the 2004 indie film Napoleon Dynamite, has been cast in the untitled Judah Miller comedy pilot.

The single-camera project centers on a Tony Award-winning mother (portrayed by Megan Hilty) and a risk-averse, cerebral father who are blessed with a son who is a natural-born competitive athlete. They are forced outside their parental comfort zones and into the high-octane world of youth sports.

Ramirez will play Jose Luis, one of “The Three Bears” — three large men (of varying sizes) who are Irene’s gay Greek chorus. They are the one thing in the suburbs that remind Irene of her days living in Manhattan.

Ramirez’s credits include television appearances on Constantine, Eastbound & Down, Scrubs and George Lopez.

Rivera to Appear at The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE Gala Event

Naya Rivera will be taking the stage at the Trevor Project’s annual gala fundraiser.

The 26-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer will join her fellow Glee stars Jane Lynch, Darren Criss, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer, as well as American Idol alum Adam Lambert at TrevorLIVE, on December 8 at the Hollywood Palladium.

Hosted by comedienne Kathy Griffin, the event raises funds for The Trevor Project, which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Lynch will be honored by the organization.

Lambert, along with Riley, Smash star Megan Hilty and Glee alum Cheyenne Jackson, will take the stage for special performances.

Others scheduled to make an appearance include Dot-Marie Jones and Harry Shum, Jr., of Glee, Sarah Michelle Gellar of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Crazy Ones; Hannah Simone of New Girl; Andrew Rannells of  Girls; Allison Janney of Mom and Masters of Sex; TV host Ricki Lake and Jennifer Coolidge of American Pie.

The show will be produced by So You Think You Can Dance judge Adam Shankman, whose directing and producing credits include Rock of Ages, Hairspray, Glee and the 2010 Academy Awards.

The red carpet and pre-show will be shown via livestream.

During TNT‘s Christmas in Washington special, which aired Friday night, the 20-year-old part-Mexican singer/actress and The X Factor judge performed Carey’s classic “All I Want for Christmas” with President Obama and the First Family in the front row.

Late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien served as host of the telecast, which was taped in Washington D.C.’s National Building Museum.

Additional performers included former American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, who recently released an album of holiday music, as well as Smash star Megan Hilty and former The Voice finalist Chris Mann.

Lovato to Perform on TNT’s “Christmas in Washington” Special

Rodriguez to Star on NBC’s “Smash” Next Season

Krysta Rodriguez is preparing to make a smash on television…

The 27-year-old Latina Broadway actress/singer has joined the cast of NBC’s Smash as a series regular, according to TVLine.

Rodriguez, who most recently starred as Wednesday in the Broadway adaptation of The Addams Family, will play Ana, the roommate to Katharine McPhee’s character Karen, in the Broadway drama’s second season.

She joins new cast members Jennifer Hudson, NewsiesJeremy Jordan and Andy Mientus.

Rodriguez has previously appeared in In the Heights, Spring Awakening, A Chorus Line and Good Vibrations. On television, Rodriguez has guest-starred on the CW’s Gossip Girl.

The second season of Smash, the musical drama about the Broadway starring Emmy winner Debra Messing, Oscar winner Anjelica Huston and Megan Hilty, is set for a midseason premiere.
